  1. Good points, well made. I'm down for any ethnicity/race for Vin, as long as they can pull off waif to Mistborn badass.
  2. Sazed I have a number of options here. Naveen Andrews: Aged about 50 but looking good for it. Not sure how old Sazed is meant to be. Will Yun Lee: I imagine Sazed as darker, personally, but Will is an incredible actor and it's an interesting take on Terris looks. Vibes well with Lord Ruler pick too. Lance Reddick: Tall at 6'4". Experienced actor, gravitas and physicality. On the older side. Sonam Wangdue: A Tibetan American comedian. A bit of a wildcard maybe.
  3. Elend Venture - Thomas Brody Sangster A bit old (27), but doesn't look it. Looks more of a bookworm than a hero. A certified dish. Lestibournes/Spook - Kodi Smit-Mcphee Looks kinda awkward, which is perfect for our Spook. Can do accents (Nightcrawler in X-Men Apocalypse) Dockson - Jeffrey Wright Plays tired, intelligent, strategic well. Superb actor. Breeze/Lord Ladrian - Toby Jones Overweight, unconventional, comedic. Superb character actor, very charismatic. Can do various classes, accents. Hammond - Daniel Kaluuya Range. Smart, geeky - noble, martial...see Black Mirror and Black Panther as well as early work in The Fades. Can do both dependable Pewterarm and dreaming philosopher. Also, damnation. Clubs - Stephen Lang Character actor. Grizzled. Good presence. Is Stephen Lang. Marsh - Paul Bettany Is older than M. Goode but looks similar, so could play Kel's big bro just fine. Has the cheekbones and forehead to play not to mention the necessary intensity, and at 6'3 is imposing. The Lord Ruler - Takeshi Kaneshiro Accomplished martial arts experience. Range as an actor is impressive. Multilingual. Just imagine much longer hair. I'll do Sazed last, in his own post, because he's so important to me and there are a number of directions we could go
  4. Vin - Mackenzie Foy Just over 5ft, so petite enough. Taekwondo blackbelt. Can probably handle the combat and steelpushing. Emotional range - see Interstellar. Only a few years older than Vin's age.
  5. John Cusack is a great call, though I dunno how well he'd suit blond hair! I like looking at lesser known actors for casting discussions. For your consideration, I give you: Kelsier - Matthew Goode He's got the playing nobleman thing down, and has the dangerous, over confident smile. As an actor he also has a real intensity that I think Kelsier needs. Just dye him - he's played blond before - and scruff him up a touch.
  6. For the attention of all Windrunners, Skybreakers, those training with Honorblades et al: The practice known as "Lashing Chicken" is hereby banned. Thank you in advance to all Skybreakers for their obedience in following this directive. Windrunners, please take to heart that no matter how lightly you may value "rules", continuing to hurtle through the air on a collision course protects no one and, more to the point, will be punished by making you spend considerable time in the very small room without a window.
  7. No chance at all, sorry; Osric is my own creation. What book are the characters you mention from?
  8. Excellent. Heat has been crazy here the last day or so, too hot to safely run my PC, so that saves me a task. I'll never forget the characters of Mistborn era 1, and that series was the first to elevate Branderson to Shard level for me, a great among other authors. But it was SA that made me join his devotary, so to speak. That understanding of mental illness and trauma, of spiritual strength and compassion to accept and grow despite it all - I said the words, and I still do. My wife and I want Bridge Four shoulder tattoos.
  9. I've read all of Mistborn thus far including Secret History, all SA this far including Edgedancer, Warbreaker, and everything non-Elantris based that appears in Arcanum Unbounded. I have read The Rithmatist but that's it for Branderson's nonCosmere stuff. I thought nothing could top Mistborn Era 1 and then I read WoK and WoR and realised that I was done for. I write fantasy myself, and sometimes even sell a few copies, so i treat Sanderson as my chosen challenge, aspiration, and unwitting teacher - I fanboy at his craft as well as... everything else.
  10. Thanks for the cookie (it's Ruined my diet) and the advice. I've made an edit to hide spoilery stuff, and will remove all topic content here once I've popped it up in the appropriate forum area. How do the +Word thingies by our names work here?
  11. Ahoy, Thought I'd make my first foray into Cosmere forums with an actual topic as well as a general greeting. My interest below will concern at least the Stormlight Archive up to the end of Oathbringer, so spoiler warning?
