  1. I understand investiture pretty well on the other planets. You can give or receive breath on Nalthis because the shard is Endowment. Allomancy is all about preserving or changing energy from one form to another. Hemalurgy is taken by harming someone else and the power leaks out. That makes sense. You have to honor ideals to become a radiant, etc. etc. AonDor just seems like writing magic spells in the air. How is that related to devotion or dominion? It's been a while since I read Elantris so maybe I'm missing something, but something like Forging seems like a much more blatant relation to Dominion. Can someone explain it to me?
  2. I just got my dad into Cosmere books. He gets to Oathbringer, and I regularly ask him what's happening in the book. I ask him 2 days ago and he says "It was going a little slow, so I skipped to like the last 10 chapters". Fury beyond fury perfectly describes my emotions. I ask "Dad! How far were you in the book?" His reply, "Like 600 pages in. I only skipped like 300 pages" (He may have said 300 or he may have said 600. I can't remember now.). I'm steaming mad. I actually gave him the silent treatment for the rest of the day. I cool off, start talking to him about it and say My dad says "Stop, I haven't read that part. I'm going back to read it." This is my chance for payback... So yeah. That's my worst experience with spoilers.
  3. Just a dumb curiosity question, but do we know the properties of Atium? I just imagine having an atium sword or shield or something would be really cool, but would it be possible to smelt down a whole bunch of atium beads? Also, if you could smelt it, would that create atium smoke or something? I feel like atium smoke would maybe show pictures of the future or something neat. If there is any canon info about this, I would really appreciate it.
  4. The title pretty much says it all, but I'll expound a little further. In all the Cosmere books I've read, the human races have had slight biological differences, (i.e. skaa vs. nobles) and definitely had different fashions, but no race is as bizarre as the Parshendi. As far as I can tell, all other Cosmere races have regular red blood, similar skin tones and textures, and haven't been incredibly small or large. So why then are the Parshendi so different looking? If I understood OB correctly, the Parshendi were created by Honor and Cultivation (because they've been on Roshar longest), so why did they make them look so weird compared to the other races? Maybe I'm off track, but the first races shards create usually look like us human beings. Thanks in advance
  5. So I was just reading Mistborn:SH and we know that Kelsier is in the cognitive realm and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We also know that Hoid dislikes Kelsier because he's similar to Rayse. And we also know that Kelsier wanted to learn more about the Cosmere at the end of SH. I know this might be a little early for theorizing, but does anyone think it likely, or even possible, that in the future Kelsier could become a shard? Kelsier has already had plans about killing a "god" in the first Mistborn, so that sounds like something he would plan. Since he's similar to Rayse, I feel like it makes sense, that at some point, he might take up Odium's mantel. I know this is kind of a long shot theory, but it just made sense to me. Thoughts?
