  1. I think that it is mentioned in several scenes that the spheres they find in the chasms as bridgemen are infused, even though it takes several storms for the bodies to get pushed back, and would be long enough for at least some of them to go dun.
  2. I like the idea of Kaladins family having a special connection somehow. It seems to be a theme among surgebinders. Thank you for the description of Cultivations voice, I couldn’t remember what it was described as. One possible explanation for the discrepancy could be that when humans hear Cultivation speak, they are hearing a physical sound/voice which could be altered through their Connection to Cultivation. We have seen examples of other Shards sounding different to different individuals. It would stand to reason that a Spren, hearing a shard through connections in the spiritual realm would sound different than the more physical voice a human would hear. Hopefully at some point we will get some clarification on everything Cultivation has been up to.
  3. I am currently rereading oathbringer. At the end of the sixth chapter Kaladin and Syl are having a discussion about how Syl can remember his family even if she had never met them, and how he knew her from before. In part of her reply she tells him that "there was... another voice. Pure, with a song like tapped crystal, distant yet demanding." Based on what we learned in Rhythm of War and the pure tones of Roshar, this could suggest that Cultivation had a subtle hand in pushing spren towards the first knights radiant. Does anyone else have an idea what this could mean?
  4. I was just going off the basis, that when Taln died, his blade with with. Now that the Oathpact is broken it could be a very different story.
  5. I mean the blade should have disappeared when Chana died, not appeared.
  6. It also doesn't explain how Szeth knew the desolation was coming, and how he became truthless, although I expect we will definitely see an answer to that in Stormlight 5
  7. I think it makes a lot more sense for this shimmering human form to be a piece of Tanavast than it does to be the Herald Ishar. It would definitely explain the future sight. I would like to see Tanavast have more of an impact on current events.
  8. I can't recall off the top of my head, but if there was a reference to one, it would most likely be in Eshoni's prologue. I don't think there was.
  9. I would imagine eventually they would try to publish them separately like the have done for edgedancer and dawnshard, but he did not specifically say that I heard.
  10. So we still have possibility of something set in the third culture on sel, or something similar.
  11. Did he specifically say that they were on world's we haven't seen or just with characters we haven't seen?
  12. You know as I read the exchange from Dalinar and Evi, I think you could also claim that it could also be foreshadowing for the battle of champions.
  13. I do think that it is interesting though that Ado means light, and the way that people most commonly experience the power of adonalsium on Roshar is throught light. I still that their is room for a connection there.
  14. I think one could make the argument, that if Odium was behind the thrill, and the thrill was behind the war culture of the alethi people, then in a round about way he really would behind the naturally occuring religion. That's what Rayse has been putting in his letters to Bavadin, "sorry just a few more millennium to finish preparing my army, and I'll be on my way over."
  15. I personally like the idea that we could see a major set back for our heroes at the conclusion of book 5, and I feel like it would be thematically appropriate for the thing that could have saved them show up and the end, leaving us all sitting on for the next 5+ years til stormlight 6.
  16. I think that would be good as well. Playing with the idea of "We won, but at what cost" Sounds very much like a Brandon Sanderson theme. I also am pretty sure many of our main front five characters will be stepping out/ dying at the end of book 5. I think its interesting what you are saying about the end of the Highstorm and Everstorm being told in the death rattles. I had never thought of it that way, but now that you say it it makes a lot of sense.
  17. I am a really big fan of the idea that Stormlight 5 ends with a big loss for team radiant. Issuing in the night of sorrows right then would be an amazing conclusion to the front five.
  18. My only problem with Gavinor or any other child, is that Gavinor wouldn't be able to loose because Dalinar or whoever wouldn't be able to kill him, but he also as far I can tell would be unable to win, so it would just create an endless contest, and Odium wouldn't gain what he wants anyway.
  19. Yeah Just today I listened to that shardcast. I think it works well.
  20. So In Way of Kings we get this death rattle, “In the storm I awaken, falling, spinning, grieving. ” In 2018 Brandon stated that we had not yet seen this death rattle on screen. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/369-skyward-san-francisco-signing/#e11616 I am pretty sure that this Death Rattle referred to the Scene when Kaladin jumped out of the window to save Lirin. He is falling without full use of his powers, grieving the loss of Teft, In the middle of a high storm. When he swears the forth oath he awakens to the height of his power. We also know that this is a scene that Brandon has been planning for a long time. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/452-youtube-livestream-23/#e14518 I think it all fits, Thoughts?
  21. I want moash to realize what he has done and to feel the pains of his desisions, and truly suffer, right before he is run through with a shardblade.
  22. Another interesting Idea about this question, is the question if nightblood has what we would consider emotions. It has its intent to destroy evil, but past that it doesn't seem to have emotions past that. I suppose even if you could push on its emotions it would really have an affect.
  23. I feel like as far as an In world term goes, Rosharans arent going to have different names for all the orders of spren, because they really arent that spren aware. They are learning more, but we can assume that In World a term already exists, (even if Brandon hasnt decided what it is yet) I also doubt the would use a very Cosmere aware term. I would suggest a Manifest of spren or a muster of spren
  24. I agree with what you are saying, as far as I know we have no knowledge of Atium forming after Ruin was freed, it is possible that he started talking it back to himself slowly, which is why the stash of Atium was so important, because it was trapped in the PR. This wob below showes that the power, is in the SR before it enters the pits, but I think it is safe to assume that the second you burn it it would not be in the SR (at least not if a form that Ruin could absorb) or he would have won when the burned all the atium. Viper (paraphrased) The gemhearts/stormgems/whatever that are grown inside the beasts in Way of Kings ... is that the same as the way atium is grown inside geodes in the Pits of Hathsin? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) It's similar. The Pits are an area where there's like a leak from the Spiritual Realm into the Physical. That's what happens there.
