  1. I think you are missing a bit of the point. Vin and others ascended they took up massive amounts of investiture. Unlike a gold compounder witch would need to store the exes, investiture is a bit different. The investiture would not be store so much in metal but in people. You would just need to store what you can in a metal and burn it then retain the compounded wealth. The roof of this type of compounding would be the shards power itself
  2. The set seem to have plans that will take generations to complete. If a nicrosil twin born compounded, they could possibly become another lord ruler who could then make more items like the bands. We know from the original trilogy that a shard can have part of themselves hidin away and out of reach, and that when Elend and the other atium mistings burned the entire atium storage, it did not immediately go back to ruin. It was out of his grasp for a time. If The Set can store enough of the the investiture it could possibly siphon harmony’s power for long enough to leave an opening for another shard (presumably allied with odium) to strike and shatter what is left.
  3. I’ve been thinking about what the sets plans are regaurding the women they have kidnapped. What if they don’t just intent to breed allomancers but to sacrifice them thru hemalurgy to make another Mistborn. Not an inquisitor like marsh, that can be controled by Harmony but to breed a Mistborn. we know that on Scadrial investiture is in some way, hereditary. If you spike people with hemalurgy and then have a child will the bit of investiture granted by the spike also be passed to the child. This could be used to condense the investiture down the hereditary line to make a Mistborn that harmony can’t control. They might be trying to do the same with Feruchemy to try and make another lord ruler though this is just speculation on my part another way they could try is to have a nicrosil compounder. This could also be their intent. We know they were after the bands of mourning as a short cut of some kind. What if a person that could compound investiture could create another metalmind like the bands. We know that you either have 1 or all of the allomantic or feurocemic powers and separation depends on how invested you are. If you can compound it you could theoretically gain all the powers and then mass produce bands to make an army of awesome power. alternatively if someone did compound investiture could they ascend in some way. Could this be this be their plan. Their way to take some of the power from Sazed. And possible divide ruin and preservation again. We know odium was trying to stop shards from combining again so that he would be the greatest power (or something along those lines) and so he destroys other shards but doesn’t want to take them up as it would change the intent of his shard
  4. @Calderis if he was experimenting he wouldn’t have gotten far. Kaladin has repeatedly said that was still trying to figure out what his first oath truly meant. So with that I don’t really except this as prof against my theory. RShara’s prof against it is better but I still see loopholes, though small, with her disproof
  5. As we saw at the end of OB Dalinar is not your average bond Smith. He made honors perpendicularly, investing himself so strongly that he could touch all 3 realms. We saw similarly extreme or stretched ideology’s of investiture in Mistborn with vin. She proves that if invested strongly enough you can lessen the “rules” restrictions. I think what Dalinar did was similar to but a less complete version of what vin was doing in this fight. also as far as “It is a construct created by the perception of living minds, and Connections to the things around it. It is not a living thing, it is just an echo of what others think of it.” I believe syl calls herself something similar to this and ends the statement calling it gobbledyblarky being bonded to the spren of god helps too
  6. Dalinar heard the voice of the ancient temple begging to be made hole again. The voice was the spren of the temple. Did he heal the temple and there by heal the spren or did he heal the spren causing the physical effect of restoring the temple. If the later is what is actually going on as I believe it is could this be how we restore shardblades. Make them like they once were. We know of 2 shardblades that aren’t quite as broken as the others and both have been treated as more of a companion rather then an object for most of the last few years by their respective owners. oathbringer and adolin’s blade maya. Both of these blades have been held for long periods of time by men who have both proven to be honorable for the most of the last few years leading up to this realization. I think that if you can treat a blade as more of a companion in some way rather than solely a weapon you can the heal them with the power of the bondsmiths. Evidence for this is in the nature of soul casting and Stormlight healing and what we have seen from dalinars “healing” of the ancient temple. Soul casting has a lot to do with persuasion. Convincing an object that they are/want to be something else. Stormlight healing is also about perception. If you accept something as natural or a a part of you then it cannot be healed. This is in evidence with Kaladin and his scares not healing and the tattoos not staying. With renarin’s mental disorder not healing while his sight was. And there was an explanation given at some point (I can’t remember by who at the moment) where, if an old vase is broken the individual pieces will still think of themselves as a collective vase but damaged. The thing is, when it remains broken for long enough it begins to think of it’s self as broken. Pieces of what was. Then givin more time it thinks of itself as whatever material the pieces were make of. This might also explain why there are less shardblades than Dalinar’s visions imply there should be. The ones that weren’t ornamented (and thus trapped) with a gem heart eventually became part of the shattered collective that is honor to be molded into a different idea or concept. I think this was touched upon when Kaladin, Shallan and adolin was trapped in shadesmar
  7. I wonder which surge they are missing (if they even have the same surges as the radiants)
  8. I know we don’t know much about the fused yet but does it seem to anyone else that the fused only have 1 surge per individual where the radiants have 2 we have seen fused that fly but they seem to move with/like the wind where the radiants have a more abrupt direction change we have also seen fused that slide along the ground like lift but we also don’t see her do much more than that. i can’t think of anymore fused with powers atm but another tangent question would be do the fused only have nine different surges since they use odium spren. im just curious to know if I’m missing something about them in the books or from a WoB
  9. I can say with almost absolute certainly that the storm father does not acknowledge every oath sworn. I believe he didn’t acknowledge 1 of kaladins oath until he swore the 3rd. I believe he also didn’t acknowledge the first oath for the entirety of bridge 4 and the other hopefuls. And certainly never for Shallan and her group. Further teft was the 1 to explain the first ideal to Kaladin.
  10. That’s why I started to look in other places for the sibling. I didn’t think a greater spen of odium as great as the storm father would bond with someone on the other side of the conflict
  11. They aren’t perfect in their thought. Syl was thought to be lost forever during the recreance. When she reappeared the others were shocked. That is why she is so special. I would need the book in front of me for more to disprove the “I think syl and the storm father would know” bit
  12. We saw that the storm father could be made to be a blade when force. I don’t remeber all the details but Dalinar did summon a blade in a panic when someone wasn’t on hand to work the oath gate
  13. I forgot about that but I think I can explain that away too. Teft would have well and truly killed his spren by the point he was on the bridge crews. As we saw in shadsmar, spen don’t like to acknowledge dead spen. So at the time she said she was to only 1 trying she would have been. As for being the only 1 to disobey it’s a bit easier. They had sent 1 to try and she had been killed so the rest were forbidden to try. The stormfather did say that “maybe if their knights still lived something could be done” in reference to reviving spren. Teft might have revive his dead spen. You might be right but I still think my theory holds some weight
  14. I’m almost certain that it requires the 3rd ideal to have squires. Kaladin and Shallan both had people around them begin to develop powers after the 3rd to add to the theory, he had been 1 of the first to aid Kaladin when prompted. He had no real reason to help except maybe the theoretical oath to protect where rock felt he owed Kaladin
  15. I think the 3rd spren (the first 2 being the storm father and the night watcher) is oathbringer. The shard blade is the only blade we know the deep history of, owned by sadees the sun maker (and presumed bond smith), who was the last person to unite Alethcar under 1 banner. He also tore down the Hierarchy (likely due to his knowledge giving to him by oathbringer) much like Dalinar in the third book. He then went on to fight herdaz and the rest of Roshar. This was probably a result of failed negotiations, similar to Dalinar’s early attempts to unit the world, but when his talks failed the sun maker reverted to war likely starting the death of his spren. I also think that Dalinar will revive oathbringer as it doesn’t scream when Dalinar holds it, only whimper. furthermore when Kaladin and company are trapped in shadesmar the spren of the oath gate says that it’s parent is dead and we have it from a WoB that dead spen naturally turn into shardblades on death and we know that nine orders failed during the recreance and with the sky breakers being so prevalent we know that the bond smith of that generation forsook his oaths killing the 3rd spren.
