  1. I know that it can occur, but it is obviously uncommon. But, I was more wondering about is splitting into three almost equal segments, not just two.
  2. Okay, so this has come up before as a potential issue and I'm not going completely crazy? Haha
  3. Well, it's not so much a question of if something is man-made or not...it's a question of, can a river continue to flow split in three directions, two of which go into a lake and one of which continues to the ocean.
  4. Is there a reasonable explanation for why the one river splits into three segments near the city of Fadrex? Considering rivers don't really do that naturally. I haven't finished the Mistborn series so if there is a spoiler reason, just tell me there is but don't give me details haha. Otherwise it seems to be an error or oversight.
  5. I am done with the first 20 chapters of TWOA (So, don't give me spoilers past this point haha) and I came across something in chapter 19 related to the geography that I am questioning. Sazed appears to be traveling north after being at the Covenventical of Seren, going through the Eastern Dominance, stopping briefly in the town of Urbene, and continuing his journey north. Then, in chapter 19, page 220 of the paperback edition it states: So, the question is that when you look at the map itself and track his journey he starts at the Covenventical of Seren in the south, and moves toward the north. He has passed Faleast (Which is fine), as well as Tyrian. My question is, if he has passed Tyrian that means he is actually north of the ashmount itself, especially since it states that "Tyrian was still just barely visible to the south". Which again seems to suggest that Sazed is north of both ashmounts, closer to the Pits of Hathsin if anything. But, then it says, "He stood near the central canal, one of the main routes to Luthadel." I guess what I am questioning is where exactly Sazed is at this point, because from the description it seems like he is actually well north of Luthadel, but then in other parts of the description it seems he is rather close to the city...but if he is, then I don't understand how he is faintly seeing Tyrian to his south. Part of the problem is the map doesn't seem to show these canals that are mentioned in the book since it is rather minimalist in style and lacking much detail. So, help me grasp what I am not understanding, or is the map itself wrong in some way. I know I've heard Brandon on several occasions mention his intrigue with the idea of a map being wrong and now I'm questioning if he is messing with my head haha. I feel like I keep trying to look at the map to determine my orientation with some of these things (Where the currently two, soon to be three armies are around Luthadel), but can't seem to figure some of those details out.
  6. I also have been torn on beginning this journey, because it seems like one of those series that constantly comes up and obviously Brandon holds it rather highly. That being said, I remember listening to Eye of the World on audiobook probably 10 years ago and feeling like it was too tropey, so I never read the second book. At the time though, I was semi-allergic to anything that felt too Tolkienish. But, lately I've felt compelled to try again but am still unsure haha. The "problem" is there are just so many books, that are fairly long, and it's quite a time investment.
  7. I would have to say so far I find Sazed to be my favorite character beside Vin and Kelsier. I like his personality and I find him intriguing. Thank you everyone for the welcomes, and the warnings
  8. Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. While I am not new to the fantasy genre, I am new to the books of Brandon Sanderson. Even though I have been aware of his books for quite a few years, for whatever reason I never decided to pick up one of his books until I felt compelled to read Elantris. Needless to say, I finished it and loved it so much that I immediately picked up Mistborn, and am currently about 200 pages in and loving it so far as well. All that to say, I look forward to getting to know some of you as I continue my Sanderson journey
