  1. I was looking for the quote in WoK but I remember it being alluded to that masters basically have to force them to breed.
  2. I also feel that this adds weight to the theory that humans are not native to Roshar. That Cultivation or Honor changed some of the human remnant that escaped to Roshar that they could better adapt to the new world.
  3. I have not seen this before so if its not new and all my ideas are old then sorry but it raises a lot of interesting questions. WoB from his Goodread Q&A on 8/13/2014. Question : Both Parshendi and Horneaters are able to see spren ordinary humans can't. Is there a connection between these abilities, or do they come from completely different sources? Answer: Brandon Sanderson Horneaters are human/Parshendi hybrids. (There are several Roshar races that have Parshendi blood in them.) 1. Assuming Sanderson is using 'races' here to refer to human races on Roshar then why do only some races have Parshendi blood? 2. Is it possible for Humans and Parshendi to interbreed naturally? or did the Shards play a role in the crossing of the species? 3. Did the 'stratagem' that the Bondsmiths used some how change some of the Parshendi to human? 4. Can Horneaters and other hybrids learn to attract spren that change their physical shape/nature?
  4. We now know Windrunners could have/make Radiant Squires and it seems like a unique ability to them. So each Windrunner would in fact be a Platoon or Company leader which means that they made up the bulk of the troops and goes with their leadership attribute. I see the Windrunners as being the base of the pyramid and doing most of the fighting.
  5. We have to remember that multiple Desolations happened before the Nahel bonds, as they were modeled after the Heralds. So I don't see how the KR could cause a Desolations. The most they could have done is to help it come sooner, but it seems from Mr. T's epigraph that it was dependent on the Heralds. I am still working on a theory but I think the Secret he holds has to do with the nature of Spern.
  6. So the timeline is something like this: Oath Pact ---> Unknown number of Desolations ---> Spren begin to mimic Herald Powers ---> More(or just one) Desolations ----> Knight Radiants are formed---> More Desolations---> "Last Desolation---> Unknown amount of time -----> Recereance ---> Herocracy ---> Sunmaker ---> Gavilar's death ---> Current events
  7. If certain types of Voidbringers are made out of Parshmen every time the Everstorm passes by, but not all Parshmen become Voidbringers than is it ok to terminate the Parshmen? I would say yes. In the apocalypse with the fate of the human race on the line any death that is prevented for humanity is a victory. Now Journey before Destination is a central theme of the series and so I feel the books will side with the Parshmen. I also expect that they will play a role in defeating Odium by the end but without that knowledge how could a leader in Roshar justify letting them live when hundreds of thousands if not millions will become your enemy.
  8. Which makes me think that the end of the series will have all the Spern become one, reforming Honor to fight off Odium.
  9. Well it seems that most people like myself do not want to see a love triangle. I wonder if learning of this strong dislike Sanderson in future books changed the plot so as to not have it, would you as a reader be happy he did so or not?
  10. Not all of the Highprinces went to Urithiru. The issue is that the Everstorm is now making its way back around the world and when it comes back it will turn the Parshmen into Voidbringers. My thinking is that the only place that doesn't have Parshmen that they can get to is Urithiru. So get there, set up a base and start opening the other gates.
  11. Great catch, which could make the KR real killers as they not only broke/abandoned their oaths but then knowingly drew in stromlight killing their spern.
  12. What do you think of his overall story arch? I understand the need for the 'Two steps forward one step back' character growth of Kalaidn. It allowed for some important realizations and dealt with a lot of his remaining issues from WoK. I just hope we don't see it again in the next book as his character was not fun to read in the middle part of this book. I loved his interaction with Shallan and how she put him in his place.
  13. Gavilar is the key to three of the groups. It now seems that once he started getting the visions he brought together a group to act on them which included at least Mr. T, Amaram and the involvement (if not creation) of the Ghostbloods. Once he died we see the group splintering, Mr T goes to the Nightwatcher and forms his own group with the goal of saving some of humanity. The Sons of Honor see the need for the return of the Radients and the building up of the Church and I have no idea what the true goal of the Ghostbloods are.
  14. I really liked the Fashion pages as it adds a great level of detail to the world.
  15. What do you think of her overall story arch? I liked it and found it interesting how short her flashback scenes were and wonder if that was done on account of how many found Kaladin's to long in WoK or just a function of her story. I am also glad that the Tyn plot was not developed but used to help the character grow. I really hope that the love triangle doesn't get to much screen time as I feel it would hurt Shallan's character the most. And finally the he brutal nature of her fathers death was a very interesting development and the question now is will she every tell her brothers the truth?
