  1. Well, I didn't necessarily say I would go second, just that you should go first. I'm sure somebody will eventually go second.
  2. Hey, no-one told you the super special customary greeting yet? We like to have new members say a special little welcome oath, it goes something like "My life to yours, my breath become yours" You go first
  3. Totally innocent cookies that will not harm you at all in anyway whatsoever. In other news you should also try and get people to say the (innocent, and not at all soul-stealing) "My life to yours, my breath become yours" customary greeting. I swear, I've been seeing the world in more vibrant shades ever since I started asking people to repeat that.
  4. Having just re-read this particular scene for the third time just last night, I can tell you it still reads a little awkward, at least for me.
  5. I did feel a certain pang of sadness as I was making it. But I had to push it down, for the greater meme good!
  6. I'm always partial to a good 'STORM IT!' and there's always room in my life for a few 'by the Lord Ruler' exclamations.
  7. "Strength before Weakness" This is one of my mainstays and I usually repeat it a few times just before a competition. While I am talking of physical strength I'm also speaking to mental fortitude and emotional strength as well. It's very important to me that I have the strength to help others, be that physical strength or otherwise. "I must not fear, fear is the mind-killer" Most will recognize this particular litany from the works of Frank Herbert and not Brandon Sanderson. Nevertheless, this is one that gets me through most of my days. The Bene Gesserit litany against fear helps me to realize that what I'm really afraid of is fear itself, fear kills the mind and takes over rational thinking. The litany calls it 'the little death that brings about total obliteration'. You must master your fear otherwise it will master you.
  8. Granted, however you can only get your usuable allomantic metals from expensive items bought from an antique shop. Any others you burn will just make you sick. I wish for the greatest physical strength.
  9. So we all know that one of the main things that Brandon is known for throughout the industry is his genius and incredibly in-depth systems of magic. Everything from Feruchemy, to Surgebinding, Allomancy and even the Shardblades (not really a system so to speak...I mean they kind of are..). My question for my fellow Sharders is what one is your favorite? It doesn't have to be the most in-depth and complicated one but rather the one that gives you the most joy to read about. For myself it's got to be Allomancy, something about the constant manipulation of the steelpushing and ironpulling to maintain a sort of flight is very appealing to me.
  10. Imagine us as Kaladin and the spambots are the endless Parshendi army. It makes reporting spam far more rewarding when I feel like I am surgebinding them into oblivion.
  11. You've got an extremely admirable collection. And you're in Australia as well! ..... Would you mind if I just came and....sat in front of it for a while?
  12. Just eat them! What's the worst that could happen? Illness? Sudden and painful death? Sure, but there's only like a 46% chance of that happening. The odds are in your favor!
  13. Close to 200 large to get it shipped out to me in Australia. I mean, I may just have to bite the bullet because hot damnation does it look nice.
  14. Someone get me a shardblade, I want out of this caste!
  15. That's very likely the case. I mean we aren't talking about a simple spat or disagreement here we are talking about the man who murdered his men, branded him and sold him into slavery. Not to mention he was still riding high on the excitement and adrenaline of his fight. Plus everyone was going on beforehand about how if you challenge someone to a duel with the King's blessing they can't really weasel out of it as easily as they normally could. He likely saw it as his only real opportunity to get Amaram back for what he did, considering that Dalinar didn't really seem all that interested in investigating the situation much further.
  16. I always pronounced it as Z-ee-th, with perhaps a slight s sound at the beginning as other posters have said. I always really liked that name and found it very fitting for the character as it rhymes with seethe, which I imagine the poor Truthless fellow does quite a bit.
  17. I suppose the two aren't mutually exclusive.
  18. I mean he does hijack it quite handily but can you really blame the guy? There stands the man who in your eyes is responsible for every bad thing that's happened to you in the last few months and you might actually be granted the chance to bust him up a bit? I dunno, I sympathize with ol' Kal on this one.
  19. Well here I am, I've been lurking here for quite a while now and figured it's about time I finally joined up! A little bit about me, my name is Kyle and I'm from Australia currently I've read through most of Brandon's work (Excluding the new SA book, storming rural Queensland and it's few and far between bookstores..) I'm also a competing Strongman, so that's a thing! My favorites are all in the Stormlight archive! I'm looking forward to talking to you all more in the future!
