  1. But Hoid later notices that his Perfect Pitch is slightly off. So it seems like T. Odium took away some of his Breath
  2. I don't think that is his true last name. Dalinar probably only knows him by what the other soldiers/bridgemen called him on the Shattered Plains. Which was Kaladin Stormblessed. Because his parents didn't seem to react/recognize the name. I could be wrong though.
  3. Someone asked him on Reddit if the warm golden light that Dalinar has dreams about is similar to what Rysn feels. He replied with "RAFO but it is a worthy line of conjecture"
  4. I really hope we get a scene with Ash and Shallan where they get to discuss Lightweaving together. Tips and tricks, all the juicy details!
  5. It would have been to jarring if they got over all their issues in the year between books 3 and 4. Plus, if we had learned every single dark secret that Shallan has during book 2 then what's the point of her character after that? She'd be all cured and mentally healthy, with no character flaws.
  6. Another reason why I think the black sphere may hold BAM or at least a part of her, is that Rlain says that it has a different song/vibrates wrong against his soul. Well, if BAM had previously found a way to Connect with the Singers. What better way to symbolize that but through rhythm On second thought, it could be a Fused since we know humans trapping a Fused is a main concern of that faction. But I find it difficult to believe that they would not have noticed one of their own disappearing 7ish years ago
  7. I doubt any major, event shaking events will happen within the first chapters of the book. It's all setting things up for us to look back on and go "Oh dang that was important!"
  8. But do we know if all of Yelignar is contained in the gems that Asueden and Amaram swallowed or just a bit of its power? Because if Yelignar can be in two gemstones within the time of the fall of Kholinar and the final battle, then its possible.
  9. Yeah I'm a little worried about how they sank The Thrill into the ocean. Shouldn't Odium be able to locate him or would being in a gemstone prevent that? Hopefully they got all they needed from a year of studying it. Maybe the heralds gave them some information. And I'm also concerned about giving the black sphere over other people. No matter the scientific intelligence. It most certainly houses an Unmade in my opinion. Probably BAM or Yel.
  10. I see the Pursuer trying to get to Kal, failing, and then doing anything to draw him out/break him. Which will most likely mean killing those close to him one by one or just rampaging through people.
  11. It's safe to assume that the vast majority of the coalition would not be happy about Szeth not facing any consequences for his actions. Since it would be a bad idea to execute a Radiant when they are needed for the current war, prison is one alternative. He's too valuable with his knowledge of the honorblades and how the surges work to kill him.
  12. Reading that makes me assume that Mraize would be most interested in Dalinar's perpendicularity ability. However I don't think that Dalinar will be able to move off Roshar very easily. Seeing as he has a spren bond, but not only that but he's bonded to THE Stormfather/Honor's Cognitive Shadow. But he could at least fuel spheres on Roshar for off world travel. It's unlikely he'll be willing to help Mraize out with the GB goals.
  13. Something I don't remember you two mentioning, but I think one of the reasons why Adolin has begun to distance himself from Dalinar is because of him knowing about his memoir. He now knows that Dalinar killed his mother and what a monster he was. And we know that young Adolin heavily idolized his father and wanted to be just like him. But now he knows the truth and is beginning to shape himself into his own person, not trying to fit the mold of his father.
  14. Sorry, what I meant was that he most likely won't have a spren. I could be wrong but as of Oathbringer, Nale said he was the only one of the heralds that bonded a spren. Or it was something about reaching the highest level in his order (which would make me slightly wrong). I just hope to have a pov of a radiant from each order so we can see how they interact with their sprens.
  15. I personally don't want Adolin to be an Edgedancer. Even though we have Lift as our odd one, we already know there are other Edgedancers that were in the first few chapters. I would much rather he be our focus of a new order like Stonewards. Because if we don't get that we have to wait for Taln's book to get that pov, and even then he won't have a spren.
  16. For a brief moment when Adolin mentioned that Dakhnah was a scribe for her father, I thought Kal would look over and see Tarah. I don't recall him actually looking over so there may still be a chance! Though one would think he would know her last name
  17. Brandon has also said that Dustbringers will not be portrayed as edgy evil people. He understands that's what they may seek from their name and surges, but we should expect that not every Dustbringer will be against the KR. He doesn't want them to fall under that stereotype Edit: found some WOBs Clayton I think you said you started with the Surges and worked from the bottom up. So what was the hardest Radiant Order to conceptualize in terms of virtual or ideal and powers? Brandon Sanderson Cracking how I wanted the Dustbringers to work was probably the trickiest of them all, because I knew that we were going to have (not to give spoilers) some things happening with the Dustbringers that would predispose readers toward them in a certain way that I did not want the Radiant Order to exemplify. And I wanted to be sure what I thought the distinction was and why it was possible that they could go in a different direction. (Trying to circumlocute all of these things to not spoil you.) They were the hardest, probably. Priddling I was sorted into Dustbringer/Windrunner. Before I choose I'd love to know, are the Dustbringers going to be as bad chull as they sound? I'm a martial artist and the thought of controlling your power speaks to me. But perfecting your weapon is also windrunner. Brandon Sanderson They will be--but it will take a few books into the back half before we really get into them and their ways.
  18. Willshapers do have the Transportation surge, which would allow them to look into Shadesmare like the Elsecallers
  19. I'd also like to reiterate that people aren't cured of their mental health issues overnight. Even with magic. Kaladin won't magically be happy and mentally healthy after years of war and death just because he can fly and stick things to walls. Shallan won't be cured of her childhood traumas just because she can draw well and be a movie projector.
  20. I agree with you. Kal needs this step back to really start processing himself and his oaths. If he is made into a surgeon I hope he works alongside his dad. That way Lirin can tell him that he hasn't changed since he was a kid, right to his face. Maybe then Kal can realize his faults. Also, I hope Rlain doesn't bond this spren because it would seem too forced. I want him to be fleshed out as a character on his own. Maybe make him a willshaper like Venli.
  21. People don't get over the mental health issues in just a year. I would find it very strange if they just continued to get better until they become Mary Sues. It shows that Brandon is committed to a realistic character progression.
  22. If there was no time skip then the story would just drag on too long. New information would not be revealed fast enough and I personally would find it boring if we had to read every fight and conversation.
  23. I'm on team Sleepless. Easy for a hordling to sneak a ruby in. I also think that it will all depend on how the events of Dawnshard unfold. If the soulcasters were taken by force or snuck out then the tone of the message makes a lot of sense. If they were traded/given then that makes me less certain.
  24. I think it's fairly safe to say that Hoid told her more than her knowing about how humans are the voidbringers and the accurate sketches of the heralds. Plus spending all of WoR in Shadesmare probably opened her eyes as well. So the secrets are whatever else she knows. Brandon has hinted that she wasn't very aware at first, but when she learns she'll quickly become more cosmere knowledgeable
