  1. My last post on this thread was three years ago on page 963. It's been too long since I've been winning.
  2. I just can't get over the fact that Hoid basically just said "I was there. I was the coat rack." to explain how he knew the story.
  3. The Lord Ruler secretly loves puns, and hence why he gets promoted.
  4. I haven't seen it, and this is definitely my favorite meme I've seen on here for a while.
  5. The artwork is on the inside of the hardcover of Words of Radiance
  6. I'm definitely not currently sitting in a chem lecture... like what? I would never... Stay in school kids.
  7. Epic Fantasy Options: Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss A Chorus of Dragons by Jenn Lyons The Licanius Trilogy by James Islington (Somewhat heavier) Other Fantasy Options: Shades of Magic Trilogy by V.E. Schwab Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima
  8. When your first thought upon seeing the villain in the new Thor is "Szeth-son-son-Vallano wore white on the day he was to kill a king" For reference, here's a picture:
  9. I feel like this could be literally anybody other than Jasnah and Shallan. Anyway: Shai
  10. I don't think you can go wrong with this choice here, both series are absolutely great. I would say that Mistborn probably has more mystery, intrigue in twists (not that Stormlight doesn't, but the twists/mystery in Mistborn tend to be more of a focus and more impactful). I would also say Mistborn will provide a bit of a clearer understanding of the Cosmere than Stormlight, so it is generally what I recommend first. On the other hand, Stormlight definitely has greater focus on character development, and their personal struggles. It's also just really an incredible series (so even if you don't read it first, you should still eventually read it). Also, you mentioned that you usually read one series and take your time doing that, I will warn you that the Stormlight Archive series is only on book 4/10, and book 10 probably won't be released for another 20 years or so. Finally, for strong female characters. This is my opinion, and others may disagree, but if you are looking in-particular for strong female characters, I would look somewhere else. Brandon Sanderson's books are great, and I absolutely think you should read them, but I have found that his female characters feel consistently less or underdeveloped compared to the male characters. That's not to say there aren't strong/powerful/smart female characters, most of his female characters are, and most of them are independent of men, but the character development is lower quality. I'm happy to provide recommendations of other books with strong female characters if you want, or for after you're done with Mistborn/Stormlight.
  11. I guessed it but hadn't seen their guess before me. RIP
  12. Sorry for the delay, No to all of those guesses. 1. This character engages in the production of art. (Assume that I am using the broadest, most inclusive definition of art possible) 2. This character has lost somebody they loved.
  13. I forgot that getting it correct meant I had to do a character... Um... This character engages in the production of art. (Assume that I am using the broadest, most inclusive definition of art possible)
