sorry, i forgot to mention... what is lightweaving? also, i have heard you need to read all of his books to understand as they are all in the same universe.. cosmere... does this include the wheel of time series?

Hey, so i started reading Brandon Sandersons books a bit ago, and i just found this website. as i am reading these forums, i am finding a bunch of unfamiliar things that everyone else seems to know. could someone explain them?: -What the "shards" are -what "Liar of Parthenil" is and where to read the teaser thing - Who Adonalsium is? - How did everyone figure out this stuff?

So, as far as i can remember, Kaladin and Szeth can both suck in stormlight, and use it. Also, shardplate is powered by several gems filled with stormlight. As they get hit, they break, eventually rendering the armor a heavy, useless piece of junk. If this is so, then shouldnt Kaladin and Szeth be able to suck in the stormlight from the gems in the plate, allowing them to destroy the plate and wearer with ease? Or am i just maing a mistake somewhere?
