Moash was despicable before, but now he's just the worst person ever. I thought Moash was going to follow his own advice and jump when he lost the connection to Odium at the end. I kind of wish he did.... It would have been a sort of narrative ketek or chiasmus which would have been a poetic ending for such a cremling. It could still happen, but I'm sure Brandon has more plans for Moash. For those complaining about it from a writing perspective: It is not unrealistic to write Moash as he is in this book. Even when he doesn't feel remorse for killing Teft. There are plenty of people that feel sorry for themselves and the guilt they feel rather than truly being sorry for harming others. It's actually quite common for people to feel that way. It just shows that Moash is selfish to his core. It seems like some of you won't be satisfied unless Moash gets a redemption arc. Remember he can still get one. Dalinar got one after all. edit: Do you think calling someone cremling as a derogatory term is kinda racist because of the sleepless? idk

This is what I'm currently thinking. The hints that it's Kelsier are very strong, and I think this is the most likely situation if it is indeed Kelsier.

I assumed it was because progression is the purest surge of Cultivation like adhesion is for Honor. I don't know if this is completely wrong or not, but while I was reading, I thought the suppression worked best on the surges of both Honor and Cultivation due to the Sibling being of both Honor and Cultivation. Interesting tidbit: Windrunners have honorspren, and edgedancers have cultivationspren.

I absolutely loved the tones and lights storyline! Some of the best parts of the book imo.

I think "Lord of scars" and Hoid's threat are pretty clear indications that Brandon at least wants us to think it's Kelsier. We don't have an absolute confirmation on it though. I personally think it is Kelsier because that doesn't seem like the kind of red herring Brandon would pull. In my opinion it would feel kind of cheap if it wasn't Kelsier at this point considering how hard he was hinting. About the Kalak comment: I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Kalak thinking Thaidakar is much older than he is. I also wouldn't rule out the possibility that Kelsier is not the original "Thaidakar".

WOW! I don't know what to say. I really loved this book. Before this book I liked Rysn, but I never really cared that much about her. Now I can honestly say she is one of my favorite characters! I've always loved Lopen, and his third oath almost made me cry. The poor guy has such a pure heart and his realization that his jokes can hurt people really resonated with me. The third oath is more flexible than I thought it was, and I was not expecting it to go in that direction. I just want more Rysn and Dawnshards now, but I know I will have to wait years!

On the reddit thread, Brandon just said we can assume Zahel whispered the commands. So he's probably not 10th heightening.

I'm almost certain Lezian will kill multiple characters Kaladin cares about in his pursuit of Kaladin. Someone from bridge four is dying by Lezian.

Dalinar is not at all worse than Sadeas! First of all, they were both murderers and terrible people. Sadeas even has the added thing of raping women from the cities they conquered. That already makes Sadeas worse than Dalinar, but it doesn't matter because you are missing the point (Pretty much the whole theme of the series). People are cabable of change and improvement. Dalinar is no longer the same terrible person he was before. He is a completely changed and improved man.

I'll be honest. Up until a couple weeks ago, I had absolutely no true understanding of what DID is. But with everything going on with Shallan, I felt the need to do some research. Feel free to correct anything if I'm wrong. Also, I know there are a lot of Shallan threads, but I thought the topic was different enough from the ones I've seen that it would be okay to post another one. From what I understand, a healthy mental state for someone with DID can look different depending on the individual. Full integration of personalities into one is possible with DID, but it is not the goal for everyone, and it is often a personal choice. Some people would prefer to remain distinct or to partially integrate. Shallan has shown no sign of integrating yet, but that may change as she continues to improve her mental state. It seems like she really is doing better now than at the end of Oathbringer. Processing memories, establishing communication across the mind, and every alter working together toward a common goal are all signs of a relatively healthy mental state with DID. The main thing holding her back is her last truth. I believe her final truth will bring Formless to the forefront with the other alters. I agree with what others have said about this being her child personality: who she was before all the trauma. It's very common for those with DID to have a child alter. They usually range from being deeply traumatized and unable to function to being super innocent and carefree. Shallan's will likely be more traumatized I would guess. Once the final truth is out and Shallan is forced to process it, I think we will see a significant regression in her mental health followed by rapid improvement. Whether or not she chooses to integrate her personalities into one is something I have no idea about. Before this last chapter I would have probably said she will choose to simply unify her alters in purpose rather than full integration. Now with Formless as a wild card and the reminder that she still has more memories to process, I am more inclined to think guess that integration will be the end result. There is little reasoning behind this other than a gut-feeling. I am interested to see what you guys think.

I think the fear and paranoia was the reason he could grow it back. It comes down to how you see yourself. Once you see yourself as a cripple, you won't heal that injury anymore. I don't think he ever saw himself as someone with one eye. Or he never truly accepted it.

That's true. I didn't consider the possibility that it could be showing Moash's potential future. Probably because I really don't want a moash redemption. Let that cremling stay miserable and lonely. We have enough people swearing oaths and becoming better people. We already know Renarin can't lightweave like the other truthwatchers. I don't think he has the ability to use lightweaving as you're describing it.

If radiant Moash is the future that would make sense. It seemed more like an alternate version of Moash who made different choices, which would align closer to gold/malatium.
