  1. Hello, welcome to the forum I think it's pretty simple : Obliteration just needs to think of someone to teleport directly to him. David just showed him a picture of Calamity and Obliteration was able to teleport there, without knowing the place. And yeah, I agree, it felt rushed toward the end, which is a bummer
  2. Or maybe it's Szeth, visiting his homeland/getting back to it. And maybe those tears will help him regain his humanity ( the child can be a metaphore of innocence or purity of heart ). I can't wait for the next book EDIT : my reasoning behind that is Shinovar isn't protected at ALL against a highstorm, so imagine if the Everstorm was to hit that land at full force... Oh, and welcome Syleena !
  3. Windrunning with a bow shardblade. Yeah I know, I'm fantasizing That would be quite overpowered !
  4. Here you go http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6487-thaylen-and-alethi-glyph-translation/
  5. You mean like Type III Awakened object from Warbreaker ? And instead of Breath, they used Spren to awaken them, or part of Honor so to speak ? Then what would be the Commands ? Movements, thoughts ? Both ? Interesting theory, I will keep that in mind This points to Vasher/Zahel being on Roshar because it is a lot easier for him to gain "Breath", or Stormlight in this world, and thus not dying from Investiture exhaustion. Interesting indeed ! I agree with that And I'm pretty sure the metal used might be the same as the Blades, something not natural, like iron or steel, since when shattered, the armor behave like molten pieces, as if the bond holding it together just... Vanished. I really really want to read the following book, so many questions answered in WoR, but some many more still pending EDIT : Now I'm pretty sure that Shardplates can store investiture ( Stormlight ), and only a Surgebinder can do that. Also, there are hints of supplemental features which can be accessed when the Plates are infused, like the helm appearing upon willing it or not.
  6. Indeed Ketek, just looking at Syl reaction makes me think that Blades and plates are totally different in their nature. I think that Plates are fabrials, which can be infused with Stormlight and used by the Knight Radiants to fuel their powers, much like a battery. We have yet to see Kaladin wearing one, and maybe he'll make it glow, like the ones we saw in one of Dalinar's visions.
  7. I lent my Mistborn trilogy to several friends, now they're hooked up Great to have people to whom I can talk about those books, and Universe
  8. Hello everyone So I just read all the pages and found a lot of interesting things said ( I up-voted them, of course ). And I while staring at the Roshar, I noticed something rather peculiar : the shape of the archipelagos. They are perfectly aligned along ellipses. And symmetrical. Let me show you : Do you see what I mean ? The ellipse #1 has a little offset though, and ,in my opinion, due to the Highstorms themselves, the same phenomenon can be seen with Earth sand dunes, which can travel quite some distance every year ( drifting ? ). Ellipses #2 and 3 have an identical "twin", offsetted themselves a little as well, located at the same distance of the center of symmetry. How to explain the differences in topology, Roshar not being symmetrical ? Well : wind erosion and sedimentation of crem. The Unclaimed Hills and the Frostlands are the result of this, the highest pressure being on the Hills, where the wind is the strongest and the crem more abundant due to be the first landmass hit by the Highstorms. And thousands, hundreds of thousand, millions ( ? ) of battering made them a very rugged terrain. The Frostlands are a part of what hit the Hills also, but in a "smoother" way, maybe due to the fact that there was nothing behind but water/sea, nothing to pile on, like the archipelagos from the origin of time. And Iri, Babatharnam and Rira are the results of sedimentation. The Reshi sea and the Purelake, if I'm right, will be landmasses in the future, due to the same phenomenon. Shinovar is the oddball there, because of its protection, like a big valley between those two mountain ranges. I'm pretty sure the Roshar of Old must really look like that country, with dirt, grass, trees ,Earth-like. And no, I'm not a geologist Food for thought, my friends, food for thought PS : once again, I'm sorry if there are grammatical/spelling errors, English not being my native language
  9. Thank you for the warm welcome Windrunner : Oh yeah, I read AoL, but I consider it more like an interlude between the first and the second trilogy, haha ( but I really enjoyed reading it ) Puck : They do ? /panic I'll behave, haha
  10. Hello everyone ! Long time lurker and new member of the forum, I'm here because I really love Brandon Sanderson's books and universe, and I've found wealth of informations which made me understand a lot more the motivations, actions and the "rules" behind the different protagonists. I've read only three books ( or serie ) from Mr Sanderson : Mistborn trilogy, Elantris and Way of Kings ( my favorite ). I have some theories concerning WoK, and I'll post them in the proper subforum ( regarding the Heralds, no less, I think I know who they are ). I can't wait for the next tome Take care people PS: excuse me if I make typos and grammar errors, but english isn't my native language, so be gentle
