  1. I was tainted by Patterns fumbling around in the cabin so I still view him as a cute curious child. Then Kate Reddings voice for him confirmed that for me. I can never view him as sinister.
  2. I'm pretty sure Navani's flying ship fabrial will use the gravitation surge. I bet that fabrials can use radiant surges.
  3. "Mmmm. I don't like being stabbed." "Wise words friend, wise words."
  4. The way it was set up with Kaladin bonding with both sides I knew something bad was going to happen. Adolin humorously said "storming bridge boy, he's probably their leader now" or something like that then when they showed up behind him in the stairwell I really hoped he gained a new set of squires then it all collapsed around him when he saw his parshmen buds... I was already an emotional wreck then storming Moash had to show up and throw salt in the wound at the worst possible time. Storming Moash. He had the nerve to make the bridge 4 salute after. I don't think there are words for the tidal wave of emotions I felt at that moment. This storming book I tell ya...
  5. Dalinar in general was such a great arc for me. I was heartbroken during the rift chapter and his ascension then again when he walked into the thrill. His struggle to be a better person really hit me hard. I also was touched by Kaladin during the Kholinar battle and the aftermath. I was really beginning to GET Ehlokar then just... wow. Hoid helping Shallan then the mother and orphan really put him into a new light for me. I thought he was a callous sardonic jerk before then. Now I don't know what to think. I never thought a rude immortal trickster would be humanized in such a way. Oh yeah Teft swearing the third ideal was amazing and the Jasnah Renarin scene was beautiful. The way side characters got so much development in so few words was astonishing. Ivory summed it up pretty well, this is right, somehow it IS. (paraphrasing, I need more Ivory in my life) I love this book so much.
  6. I'm probably way off base here because I'm not the most cosmere savvy person in the... cosmere... but I took it as a reference to adonalsium. Not that Dalinar became it/him but that Odium was mistaken for a second. Hear me out. Kaladin was said to be invested so radiant power isn't all in the spren. Dalinar is invested by Cultivation from her vine attack thingy, Honor through the stormfather, and Odium through the thrill. What I'm getting at is I believe he did something adonalsium-y at that point through his connection to three different shards and the nature of Bondsmiths. Like what if Dalinar eventually became a new shard by collecting bits of investiture from different existing shards. Maybe that's why Hoid is trying to collect them all?
  7. I almost teared up when he was happy that mankind had time to grow. So selfless and pure. I hope he regains his composure for good. Sign me up for the fan club because I truly love this man.
  8. As someone who has yet to read Warbreaker I agree. I thought she was just a semi interesting new character until her tidbits about being from another planet. Then I became interested but she didn't feel out of place or anything. They were in shadesmar and Kaladin had just spoken to someone from another planet anyway. It just added more worldbuilding and gave more of an explanation on Nightblood and Zahel. That said I loved this book. Dalinar is officially my favorite character of all time. Taln is such a sweet soul, I wonder if Dalinar uniting the three realms somehow healed him for a time. My only slight issue was the radiants showing up together towards the end felt like an Avengers movie moment. It was fun yet felt kind of forced for some reason. Rest In peace Ehlokar you sweet soul. Also hello sharders, first post.
