  1. I'll take more awesomely-plotted-books-with-simpler-writing over beautiful-prose-but-waiting-10-years-for-the-next-book any day.
  2. I think I know a few religious people that fall into that "capital" category.
  3. That's the one I stumble over. Name another author who has a magic system like Sanderson? Like any of his books? His crazy originality is what hooked me in the first place.
  4. Thank you. But what's a "capital A atheist"?
  5. Jasnah. I favor education as a top priority. I'm atheist. I can come off as cold or aloof on the outside but I really care. But also Navani because she's smart, strong, independent, cares about her family, and still enjoys an active sex drive ;-) .
  6. First Law by Joe Abercrombie Gentleman Bastards by Scott Lynch Liveship Traders by Robin Hobb Iron Druid by Kevin Hearn Those are all series. Those are the first that come to mind.
  7. My life is.... wait a minute...I see what you did there. Nah, I'll pass. But almost right?
  8. But cookies are so good.... Mmmmm.... delicious cookies....mmmm.... My favorite book is Words of Radiance. My favorite character is LightSong. My favorite invested object is NightBlood. My favorite prince is Raoden. My favorite broken book boyfriend is Kaladin. My favorite.... um... I've run out of categories.
  9. I was coming off of a high from a different series by another author and was starting to go through withdrawal. My friend recommended Mistborn to try to get my through and it blew my mind. I devoured every book and short story he ever wrote (at the time) within 18 months of finishing The Final Empire, and then I read all of Wheel of Time just to get to his books.
  10. Hi all. So I *technically* joined last year, but I mostly use this site to read other people's questions and answers (and check out the fan art) and I have rarely actually interacted, keeping most of my Sanderson interactions to goodreads and facebook. But after meeting a few of you lovelies as JordanCon I decided I should take the plunge. I mean, I totally have time to chat about Sanderson in yet another venue, right? So, to summarize, hi!
