  1. A Shard-history specific book is yet to be released. As @R J said it would be Dragonsteel. I recommend the Coppermind wholeheartedly though, can spend hours on there learning and theorising!
  2. YKYASFW you're feeling down about work and your SO knows one of the only ways to bring your mood back up is to buy a BrandoSando book. Dark One, here we come!
  3. Welcome to the Shard! Very, very keen for Rhythm of War (obviously) so hopefully you spend some time in the Stormlight Archive thread and delve into the theories there!
  4. I've recently read Robert Jackson Bennett's Foundryside & Shorefall, some great magic system in their in the same light-hearted vein of Sanderson. Read Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames which is just humourous and full of wit and battle. Also read Sir Terry Pratchett's The Colour of Magic & The Light Fantastic which, whilst not as good, were also full of parody-fantasy and pure greatness.
  5. Welcome!! Sanderson does some great portrayal of mental illness, Legion is a great example. I hope it all goes well!
  6. Welcome!! A Jasnah novel would be great actually, hopefully we get some sort of information but any news is good news!
  7. Welcome!! As you can see, we can be pretty welcoming
  8. Welcome to the Shard! I have/had the same issue. Read a lot of Brandon and could not get into any other author. Managed to get out of it but feel that when Rhythm of War comes out then I will end up in a damnation good spiral again!
  9. I have got no idea how you manage to take the time from modding and also from being here but wow, jofwu, you're a staple for us!
  10. The age-old question: Does Hoid actually love bacon?
  11. Also just finished the FF7 Remake and wow, what a gorgeous world they've made and it's only Midgar! Determined to get the platinum trophy so will go through another couple of times.
  12. Currently reading Shorefall by Robert Jackson Bennett. Foundryside was a wonderful read. I tried the Dragonbone Chair but it was just way too slow for me, and I was in a slump so that might have played a part. I'm hoping this picks my reading back up but so far so good!
  13. Welcome!! I agree that Sanderson ruins other books for us, but there are a few out there that are up to standards!
  14. Hello and welcome to the Shard. I wish I was experiencing this for the first time all over again, enjoy the Sanderlanche!
  15. Currently playing Xenoblade 2 on the Switch which is just a great game. Bought Final Fantasy VII Remake to play (if you're in the UK, if you buy on Argos and collect through Sainsbury's it's available right now) and excited to get to that!
  16. These updates are a bright feeling in an otherwise dull world these days.
  17. Hell and Welcome, always great to have new people!
  18. Welcome to the Shard. Excited to see some of your work!!
