  1. Maybe it would have been about admitting that he caused the deaths of people due to his inadequacy, i.e. Moash's grandparents, the fall of Kholinar, everyone that died because of the vengeance pact, etc.? Shallan's truths were things that she told herself to avoid going insane. Actually, that kind of makes me think that before Ishar forced the oaths on the bonds that advancement would be based in widening the break in the Radiants' spirt-web, perhaps the bonds are a sort of organized method of further breaking the Radiant.
  2. In the BoM Ars Arcanium, Khriss states that nicrosoil ferrings can store Investiture. Does she mean Investiture in the general sense, or the more localized Scadrian meaning of being able to tap/burn metal? Basically what I'm asking is does Nicrosoil just store the ability to use abilities, or can it store Investiture in general, like breaths or stormlight.
  3. Just a coincidence then, I guess. Weird.
  4. Are there any WoBs that say whether the Kalad(as in Vasher/Zahel) in Kaladin is relevant?
  5. In a more serious note, I do sometimes get annoyed at Kaladin, but it always seemed like that was what those moments were written to convey. Alas, for now, we must stick with Syl, cheering small encouragements from the headboard.
  6. Almighty forbid we have dramatic tension and character development, otherwise the story might be interesting and *horrified gasp* meaningful.
  7. Alas, Kaladin has never had a lord he thought he could trust steal away things of great import to him. Indeed, it's almost like these so-called inner flaws are a large part of why Kaladin is a good character.
  8. If we're running with the Heralds having one of their attributes reversed then it's possible that Palah(who was in the palaneon or whatever its called)'s insanity is hiding/changing knowledge in an attempt to kept the desolation from coming.
  9. Violently was less a measure of violence and more an adjective used for stress. Alas, I digress, does anyone have any ideas on the the paticular brand of insanity that some of the less fleshed out Heralds may hide?
  10. The reason I extrapolate Ash's insanity further than just the scratching out of her face is her insistance that Taln should hate her. It seemed to me like she was trying to confirm her own self hatred through him. I feel like the scratching out of her face is a symptom of this. Also, Jezrien ain't exactly insane anymore now is he. Don't know whether he's lucky or not.
  11. Are the Returned cognitive shadows? I got the feeling that they weren't, but I could be mistaken.
  12. I would say Ash's insanity is a DEEP loathing of both herself and the other Heralds sans Taln, and by extension, religion in general. This one is rather obvious, but eh, wanted to say it all the same.
  13. So, if we had to rank the Heralds (whose insanity we know/can infer) from least violently insane to greatest, what would that list look like. For me, Jezarin, Ash, Nale, Ishar, Godking guy(blanking on his name), Taln(oops, forgot) Also, just general discussion on this.
  14. They are slightly insane, so I'd imagine it to be a touch rarer than that.
  15. I would doubt that on a logistics basis; would be a very difficult lie to keep.
