  1. What are some characters in the cosmere that at first you really didn't care for but throughout time or rereading gained an appreciation or love for? Mine in order are Hrathen Spook And elena venture. Its amazing how through a characters development, only minor things may change but nowhere near to the extent of changing who the are but such small things can drastically change prospective on their entire role kn the universe. Hrathen is the best example uncompromising faith
  2. I would suggest Warbreaker before Storm light since Warbreaker was written for the purpose of giving an element in stormlight a strong backstory and it's free to read too.
  3. Please reply or post your reaction to the end of HoA. It's truly a masterpiece
  4. So. Mistborn is ruining my life. I've been a fan of sifi and fantasy since I knew what it was. Books, video games, movies everything from lord or the rings and star wars to the Dresden Files. But nothing has ever been as good, fulfilling or as well done as the end of the hero of ages. The first sentence of the first book was already setting up the ending of the last and it was still so well done my first read-through I got teary eyed. The mold that was broken In this series can never be recreated but now when picking up a new book or TV series Im never as impressed as I know I should be because of how amazing Mistborn is. The sense of closure it too much for words. Has ANYONE else had this problem or am I just a nutcase
  5. So after much deliberation I've decided the perfect theme song for Mistborn (which I'm convinced was written for it after really thinking about it) is my name is human by Highly suspect. "Get up off your knees girl, stand face to face with your God, and find out what you are. Hello my name is Human"
  6. I took your advice and wow my mind is completely changed. Going into it knowing Hrathen is the hero completely changed the dynamic and made everything make much more sense and we'll planned out. This time around I very much liked it and have a better prospective and respect for the story. The one thing I didn't get was the sculptures
  7. Does anyone know when the third printing of the Leather Bound edition of Elantris will be released and the same for the second printing of The final empire? I want them both pretty bad and on his store it says they're in the works but no clue on when and I wanna make sure I snag one of each up before they sell out again
  8. Except for the fact that I'm the epilogue of Warbreaker Vasher explains how changing appearances is possible just like how Basher Vasher himself did
  9. I'm spreading this everywhere I can this is a great idea for a great cause.
  10. I just finished Elantris, while I did like it (I'm a cosmere snob) I didn't like it nearly as much as any other cosmere novel. I don't know why but it didn't seem like normal Sanderson, the hook wasn't as spectacular I thought and the only ways I found connecting it to the cosmere is Hoid and Galladon showing up in WoK for half a second. Can you help me, what important things did I miss or didn't see that would make it better for me?
  11. The thing that first brought me to love Sandersons work is his plot twists. I blew through the Mistborn Trilogy in no time and the end gives me goosebumps just thinking about it, since then I've been a Cosmere fanatic. So what's your favorite? Mine is personally involving the voidbringers at the end of WoK
  12. I have a theory as to why Szeth was given Nightblood instead of another shard or honorblade. It's been stated that Nightblood act as and basically is a shardblade. So I'll assume when he clashes with one it will be shardblade on shardblade. But what if nightblood can speak into the minds of live spren such as Syl and make her thoughts wild it corrupt basically rendering hey useless to Kaladin. Could this be a possibility why Szeth was given Nightblood at the end of WoR by Nale? That would certainly give him a huge edge over any other shard bearer
  13. So far the cosmere novels I've picked up are the stormlight archive (Oathbringer already paid for just waiting until November) and the Mistborn trilogy. Where should I go from here? The Mistborn *sequel* books, Elantras? Arcanum unbound? I want to know everything about the Cosmere so sooner or later I will get them all but what should I focus on next?
  14. In the first book I was having a tough time getting engrossed in the story. Many aspects didn't make sense, it was slow and hard to follow at time. I forced my way through and 3/4 in I was hooked, the second book was an instant grab for me and the end was amazing and I didn't think the hero of ages could be better but I was so wrong. I had posted a bit back about not being able to get into the series but was encouraged to keep going and I'm so glad I did. The last few chapters of THOA for some reason almost brought me to tears it was so good. Never again will I dismiss a Cosmere book...Ever. my point is I know I'm not the only one who had this problem and I encourage everyone who might have put it down to give it another shot, not only is it one of the best endings to a series I've ever seen, to me the end is also a very profound and powerful message. Knowledge is power, Knowledge is divine
  15. So I am a huge fan of the stormlight archive, after listening to both of them in quick succession I picked up Mistborn and after a while I finally got really into it and am now halfway through the second book. Just being curious I looked up a bit about the cosmere and now I'm obsessed and want to know so much more!!!!!!! The question is having only 3 1/2 books under my belt should I hold off on doing any extensive research?
