  1. Oh, forgot to mention that also in the case of Steelheart, he pretty much made it impossible for himself to face his fear. I wouldn't be surprised if many other High Epics accidentally end up doing the same.
  2. I meant that a very powerful Epic has more abilities at his disposal in order to avoid it. Example: Steelheart avoided his because he was so powerful, he was able to take over a city, murder a whole lot of people, even employ people to write propaganda. All so there would be no one left so that didn't fear him. A weaker Epic wouldn't be able to go to such lengths. Also, even if a High Epic did face his or her fear, and lost their weakness, it doesn't necessarily have any baring on the narrative. It's obvious very few if any Epics have faced it, as all the known ones are still murderous sociopaths, and the world is big enough that it's plausible the few that have they haven't bumped into. Furthermore, it's obvious in the end Epics will be taken down by some other means than facing them one by one and killing them, since there's supposed to be thousands of them. So yeah, not that I believe my theory *is* the truth, just that I don't think the problem of High Epics with no weakness means that it isn't.
  3. True, but Epics are also supposed to be selfish and paranoid. It's very likely that no High Epic would end up facing their fear because they'd do whatever they could to avoid it.
  4. I call this a pet theory, because there's very little evidence to back it up, but I also think this theory is reasonably likely to be true. The theory is that after an Epic has faced their fear, they no longer have a weakness either. Right now the only evidence I have to back it up is: 1. Conflux does not seem to be affected negatively at all by his being an Epic. Everyone says it's because he gifts his powers all the time, but Prof also gifts his powers all the time, and he was obviously still affected, just less so. At some point he's asked what his weakness is, and he says he thought it was dogs, but it turned out that wasn't it. It feels like there's some sort of story behind that. What if he ended up facing his fear (dogs), and did not realize that at that point he was no longer negatively affected by being an Epic, and he no longer has a weakness either. 2. It would make sense if facing their fear meant their fear no longer controls them, so it's no longer a weakness either.
