  1. As you said, the helm used up Kaladin's stormlight in the duel. I think the most likely cause is that shardplate is restored through stormlight, and this is why Kaladin was depleted and the helm restored, it used his stormlight. In that case, the normal procedure is to use the gems to slowly restore the plate, but Kaladin proved to be a better method of restoration at the time. Firther to above theories, I understand that in his vision while unable to see any gems in the plate Dalinar did note that the plates flowed in a way he'd never seen before. Based on that information you can likely assume the plates used to be different and did not negatively impact the radients using them.
  2. IIRC in one of Szeth's interludes he said the Shin had I think 7 honourblades in their possession
  3. If this ever gets made they should have Hoid narrate random parts of the movie/TV show, like a "What's happened in Roshar" before the TV episodes start
  4. We've seen the Alethi already ignore the visions (albeit edited versions) from Dalinar saying the Almighty is dead, and I think they're likely to continue to ignore any such revelation of the Almighty's death until they can see proof. Until such time I find it unlikely the Alethi will suddenly turn from their warring ways. Having said that, it could be foreshadowing of events to come in later books, if/when they realise what Dalinar has seen is true. I think the most likely result of the revelation the Almighty is dead is the class system based on the eye colour will turn to chaos as the dark-eyes realise the light-eyes are not being elevated to a better position by the grace of God, and they're really people just like them
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it possible to unbond a shardblade by destroying the gemstone in the blade, like what Adolin did in the first duel for shard? If this is correct, then the bonding issue isn't that great. Liss lends the blade Talak, and she doesn't know he dies so never knows not to summon the blade back until it's too late and the gemstone has been destroyed and the bond severed. It's also possible Helaran never truly owned the blade himself, but was simply borrowing it because he thought he may need to threaten his father. Shallan has no way of knowing if it's actually his blade, or if he'd simply been borrowing it at the time. As stated, he'd received it from a group of people, but that may have simply been a loan. I can't imagine many people go round simply giving away shards. Helaran may have ended up in Liss' service and borrowed the blade from her. We've also seen that outside the king there are a few people who loan out there shards. The highprinces who don't go riding into battle often loan them out to soldiers if they believe it can help the battle, knowing full well they can call back the blades at any time if they need to. Given the fact that the highprinces never let the people borrowing there shards too far from their sight, it would be reasonably safe to assume they'd need to see the person with the shard fall if they wanted to summon the blade back without potentially losing it, or taking it from a soldier who was using it. Finally, combat rules (for all they are actually followed) dictate that whoever slays a shardbearer takes their shards. Depending on how you interpret shardbearer, it could either mean the person who the shard is bound to, or the person using the shard at time of death. If you're strictly following the rules then a person wearing/using the shard, but not bound to it can still lose the shard if they die while wielding/wearing said shard.
  6. Hi everyone, I just discovered Sanderson's books when I was trying to decided what series I wanted to read next. I can't remember what website recommended them though. I have just finished reading WoR, having read all of the the Stormlight Archive books in the past week. I have to say they were absolutely amazing. I have loved this series so far, and am interested in reading the rest of Sanderson's books. I would appreciate any recommendations on the order I should read the other books/series in the cosmere. I also love Hoid!
