  1. As to the guy who said Sanderson is one of the few authors with worse UK covers than USA covers, I find the majority of UK covers disgusting. I think it does have something to do with nationality. Most British people I know say they prefer the hardcover Mistborn design, but I actually prefer the mass market paperback.
  2. I was on 17th shard after reading the Way of Kings (which I read first, probably should read again after reading all the rest of the cosmere) and everything said cosmere in it at some point or another, so I read the 101 guide thingymajigger.
  3. Good to see you here! My favorite of Brandon's is actually Warbreaker because it mixed drama with comedy so well. I also got into him because of the Wheel of Time, so you're not alone there, haha.
  4. But it does give us fantasy nerds a chance to pretend the skill of each character matters. ;P
  5. Nobody else is as good as Brandon. That's why. I have no clue why, that's just the way it is.
  6. Moiraine NEEDS to win against Tarzan, so she can stop Tyrion before he goes too far. Seriously. Somebody stop that short fella'. Hoping for an eventual Kelsier/Moiraine matchup here.
  7. It could be Urithiru, actually. Makes sense. In fact, the fact that it was specifically not Isasik Shulin according to Peter makes me think maybe it's the insignia of the cartographers for Urithiru.
  8. Hey guys guess what I was reading WoT one time (surprising, yeah?) and heard that RJ died. Now, if there's one thing I didn't like about RJ, it was the fact that his writing really just wasn't all that good. His storytelling was amazing, though, but it seemed to me that people who knew how to write in order to keep you intrigued in a book never told a satisfying story.. So when I found Sanderson, I was like holy crap how have I not been enlightened by his awesome before. It's amazing goodness was only paralleled by the Door Within trilogy that I had read like six years prior to that. Anyway, I can say I'm thoroughly hooked on Brandonium. Waiting for Elantris (the only Cosmere book I haven't read) to be delivered, since somebody here in Apopka loves B.S. as well since all of his books are checked out just as I'm about to read them. So I had to order it from the Orlando library and it's taking a long time for some reason.
  9. Whoever it is knows of Shadesmar, which is incredibly significant. So we know that whatever the sign is, it can't belong to a completely normal mortal (well, that would be obvious from the silver kingdoms-today time difference)
  10. AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. Irregardless isn't a word, man! Lol. Jasnah -> Chuck Norris: Jasnah can think of "The Game" and still win. Time waits for nobody. Except Jasnah. andddddddd... People normally say they were scared to death. Death/Ironeyes says he was scared to Jasnah.
  11. To be fair, I highly doubt mistwraiths have the desire to either, with the whole barely sentient thing going on. So, since we're making this comparison, does that mean trolls can be granted the ability to be normal if we stick them with evil spikes of evil? Cause I'd so be up for stabbing some trolls.
  12. This one makes a bit more sense to me than united through force/united through choice.
  13. Maybe he just wants to shut down everything.
  14. Sentience is just the ability to feel, perceive, or to in some way just be conscious of your actions and the actions of others. So the goblet was sentient, and I agree it seems silly that a goblet can be and a planet can't.
  15. I caught Kaladin's Surgebinding and Marsh's contribution to the good guys at the end. I also immediately thought of how Chromium would be useful, though mine was more focused on holding a target in place rather than forcing them forward in time.
