  1. This was a book for me. Brandon must know a classic underachieving job hopper. It came close to convincing me to do stuff. I loved this book. I predict Book 3 will not be the same quality as 1 and 2 but then Secret Project 4 will blow us away with awesomeness. There is no way there can be four this good. No possible way.
  2. This would be the greatest theme park to ever exist. it would blow Harry Potter land out of the water. I could see a lot of uses for VR headsets, magnets and parachuting wind machine thingies. Booth game development alone could revolutionize the carnival industry. In fact, we could start putting together booth game and good ideas and do a Cosmere version of Ren Fest for realsies.
  3. I had no idea they were married. They are top of the field. I will listen to anything Michael Kramer reads. Him and Nick Podehl. Kate Redding is one of the few female narrators I can tolerate for sleep purposes.
  4. Thank you so much! This is an every night problem. Vlad Taltos you say! That one looks really promising. You saved my month! And Sullivan is bumped up in priority. I have had a lot of misses lately. You mentioned Patrick Rothfuss. I just discovered the joy of complaining about the non-existence of Doors of Stone on the Rothfuss reddit. Recommended. Thank you!
  5. I can't sleep without Audiobooks but am looking for something new after the second full Mistborn through TLM listen. Currently in my audible wishlist: Some Michael J Sullivan, Some Jemison, Some Rhett C Bruno, Some Brandon Mull and "Fairy Tales" and "Babel" along with some embarrassing litrpg stuff. Assume I have read all classic Sci-fi, most but not all classic fantasy, all Scalzi, All Greg Egan, all Brent Weeks, all James Islington (who by the way I half suspect IS Brandon Sanderson's alter ego), almost all Robert J Sawyer, All Ernest Kline, All Andrew Rowe ( I know but he's funny!), All Stross, All Sawyer, All Will Wight.... Someone help me!!! Please!!!!
  6. Rithmatist is one I can't wait to see a book 2 of. Then Alcatraz is freaking amazing fun. I was hesitant because it's a kids series. But totally worth it. It was one of my nephew's bedtime readings for a few years. They did the whole series.
  7. My money is on one of the next Gen kids on either Roshar (as of SA4 but probably not by end of SA5) or one of Wax's kids. It's a children's story/myth. And also probably not terribly accurate to what actually happened, which I am sure Brandon knows. Maybe some kid about to be exiled?
  8. "Some scholars say that when you become an immortal like the Sorceress or me, your soul gets replaced with something new. Like the fossilization process." (Chapter 61, pg. 661, Tress) When you combine that statement with Vasher's fossilization metaphor to Kaladin in Rhythm of War, it's gotta mean Hoid is saying he went through a similar process.
  9. Returned or Cognitive Shadow, Hoid died at some point. Then now he is... other than dead and not gone beyond. He had to be either alive or already other than dead at the Shattering. Confirmed. This raises a whole slew of questions.
  10. Did we know before Tress that... Because that hit me like a bombshell when... But then I have SERIOUS questions such as... I just feel totally blown away by this.
  11. I just finished. And I am so sad it is over. What an absolute delight of a story. I love it so much. Instantly on the favorites list. A classic and for so many reasons. brb off to rewrite every fairy tale ever written to be like this. We need about 50 Brandon Clones, I have calculated this, to remake literature AND keep us all in new books every week for the rest of my life. I don't think any multiverse Brandon's have done better than Tress. I literally don't. Anyone who wouldn't enjoy this story is a dirty conner.
  12. Apologies if this has already been said but I believe the Wax and Milan agreed to Bands drain or swap the BOM right in front of our eyes. I am on an audiobook relisten. Near the end of BOM after the climatic fight, Milan notices Wax doesn't seem upset about relinquishing the bands. There is an odd sentence after that comment about something secret passing between them that hopefully wouldn't go beyond just the two of them. Therefore I believe Wax and Milan conspired to remove the Bands from the field of play. K thanks bye!
  13. My guess is that since feruchemy rips off part of your soul, it can steal anything. I further guess that we have seen people with stolen powers before and not known it, but that's neither here nor there. Why Hoid doesn't use Feruchemy... just ??? Voluntary spiking is a thing so maybe he will once that gets popular. Aaaaaand now I am off topic.
  14. OooOoooOoooOooo controlled by allomancy we haven't seen recently. I like it.
  15. Ok, here is the thing... yes there was a way he could have survived. We may not have found it yet, but I mean sequential speed bubbles maybe? Maybe a giant speed bubble with one edge just outside the blast then steel push to the other side of the bubble. Reserve one vial and a couple bags of Bendalloy. But... he was doomed.
  16. It's humane yet totally inhumane at the same time.
  17. I think a pain grenade would be pretty useful if something could be rigged up.
  18. Was that whole exchange just to make me cry? Or is there any way Wayne will come back from the beyond and impersonate Sazed?
  19. But is that something a couple dozen more spikes really couldn't solve? And I'm still skeeved out by how his body has flesh and so forth. I know people have said maybe a Kandra assembled the bones then you staple in Kelsier or some such. Seems weak to me though. More likely he is time sharing his body with someone.
  20. Okay I don't think he is EXACTLY a Mistborn. I think something weird happened. Soon afterwards from his perspective he thinks there isn't any Mist. But I think he just can't see it from unconscious tin burning. That would be weird. I would think that unconscious tin burning would just sharpen things a bit. Maybe he is using the powers a bit without even burning metal.
  21. Just a Wayne portrait made with AI.
  22. I am not even sure Roshar will still exist after Stormlight 5 tbh.
  23. I am thinking of posterity. 100 years from now this forum won't exist and someone might pick up Alloy of Law out of Cosmere reading order, arrive at Lost Metal and be confused.
  24. Okay random incomplete list of thoughts: Wayne... I cry. I hope he will return in in-world stories. So many answers and so many new questions. Now I have to reread all the WW books again. The pre-read isn't enough. Of course 1st the second read of LM then the all four post new book marathon reread. Wonder what Wayne is having his people steal from Wax. Does it feel to anyone else that even though this is supposedly the end of era 2, there is another era 2 book needed? The "how Roshar became United" story has got to be novella worthy. Right? Right? Also Wax's new powers not fully explained or explored. Who drained the bands? Why? When? Top suspects: Kelsier/Spook/Nightblood/Discord. Or where they just keyed to a person? Why are the off-world Ghostbloods so different? Wayne was so loved and worthy of love and didn't know it. AaaaahAether!!! So awesome!!! Steris's experience and skill in disaster preparedness could make her uniquely valuable in the Cosmere. Liked her more every book. Anyone else want an escape room of cool "find the metalborn trick to open this lock" things? Like "The Room" series if anyone remembers that. Wax and Wayne. We should have known from the beginning who would live beyond the last era 2 book and who wouldn't. The stamps!! OMG! I just... I just love all the crossover stuff. Even though I think perHAPS if I were not Cosmere aware I might be confused. I truly don't know. At some point Brandon may need to hire virgin readers. This book makes the previous three into part of a masterpiece. Fight me. I would have married Wayne in a heartbeat but now I can't. So sad. Fiction Shmiction. Wayne is my soulmate.
