  1. I completely agree and disagree towards your reasoning. In order to realise Brandon's deeper definition of life, we must look beyond the mere static definition presented to us by the world. Although I share the view that life is undefinable, I believe that allomancy represents another angle, a perspective of life.
  2. The meaning of life, or the answer to the question "What is the meaning of life?", pertains to the significance of living or existence in general. Many other related questions include "Why are we here?", "What is life all about?", and "What is the purpose of existence?" or even "Does life exist at all?" There have been a large number of proposed answers to these questions from many different cultural and ideological backgrounds. The search for life's meaning has produced much philosophical, scientific, theological, and metaphysical speculation throughout history. Different people and cultures believe different things for the answer to this question. The meaning of life as we perceive it is derived from philosophical and religious contemplation of, and scientific inquiries about existence, social ties, consciousness, and happiness. Many other issues are also involved, such as symbolic meaning, ontology, value, purpose, ethics, good and evil, free will, the existence of one or multiple gods, conceptions of God, the soul, and the afterlife. Scientific contributions focus primarily on describing related empirical facts about the universe, exploring the context and parameters concerning the "how" of life. Science also studies and can provide recommendations for the pursuit of well-being and a related conception of morality. An alternative, humanistic approach poses the question, "What is the meaning of my life?" Allomancy is the epitome of life and represents a deeper meaning that Sanderson has hidden throughout his novels.
  3. I mentioned that Kell was ranked 0 in the above post. As for Leras and Ati, I didn't think of including shards. Allik, I forgot about. Sorry.
  4. This is just a poll for your favourite Mistborn characters. Sorry Kelsier isn't included. He's ranked 0. There is a poll for First Trilogy and Second trilogy. If you have any other favourite characters that aren't mentioned then reply to this topic
  5. I don't get this cookie thing. What is it?
  6. That does seem to be the case. People really don't Preserve them. Thx
  7. What would be the Extra ability of the Atium if this happened? Would it overpower someone else using Atium?
  8. I'm always thinking if Vin took the power from the well of ascension would she be considered someone bad? Another question that popped too my mind was even if Vin knew about Ruin and how letting go of the power was the same as freeing him, would she use the power and become the next Lord Ruler?
  9. Finally found a Brandon Sanderson fan base. Can't wait to discuss the Mistborn series. Probably going to start storm light soon.
