  1. It's the fact that I can only work on this fanfic. Also, I think being too focused on the plot was my problem. That's kind of a weakness in my writing in general, I get too caught up in what's happening and what people are saying that I often neglect imagery and tone.
  2. I've hit a strange writer's block where the only thing I've been able to work on is a Voltron fanfic involving my own character. The subject of the fanfic isn't important, though. My problem is that it's really hard for me to write somebody else's characters. Whenever I start writing dialogue, I get caught up thinking, "Would they really talk like this?" "How would they react?" "What would they think in a situation like this?", and then I stop writing. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions. I know all writing blocks pass, but I'd like to finish something for once in my life.
  3. First off: Awesome concept! The first thing that popped into my mind was that the actors would then actually have to go on an adventure to defeat the evil in that movie, so that once the movie "ends", they can get back. Or maybe the two worlds mesh, which could wrec all sorts of havoc.
  4. My very first story has a premise that everyone says sounds really cool: Elves and other mythical/fantasy creatures in the modern age. The problem? My execution stunk more than chull dung. My protagonist has that cliched life where they move around a lot and her parents were super secretive, but she didn't suspect any secrets. Then her parents get randomly attacked by redshirts members of the villainous organisation, and she gets rescued by an elf that was apparently keeping an eye on her. She takes everything remarkably calmly, not freaking out, questioning anything, nope, she just shrugs it off because the story's gotta keep moving. She finds out she's half elf and half human, which again, she never suspected until then, even though towards the beginning I specifically wrote someone teasing her for her pointy ears. All of my characters were so two-dimensional, you could get a paper cut from them. There wasn't one main villain, just a whole bunch of baddies that wanted to destroy the elves because they thought they were evil because reasons. The elves have magical powers, and for some reason, my protagonist has several very powerful abilities, despite only being half elf and having absolutely no training. And then there was that snippet I wrote where she and her romantic interest both date other people to make the other jealous. At the same time. And they both end up developing feelings for those people as well as each other. If you haven't guessed it by now, I've deleted the manuscript.
  5. Odium, because at least I'd have a chance of meeting Kaladin, though likely on unfriendly terms. Would you rather become a Lifeless or a Koloss?
  6. When you're watching Mysteries at the Museum, and they're showing exhibits pulled straight out of an episode of Supernatural, including, "A long metal spike used in Witches' sacrificial rituals". I freaked out, and then they showed the image of a straight up Iron Spike. I literally shouted out loud, "HEMALURGIC SPIKE!!!!!!!!!!! HEMALURGY IS REAL" So yeah, I'm melting down all of my earrings and throwing the slag into a river. In the meantime, I'll be joining that Other Guy who has to run from the mob of Sharders that wants me lynched for implying Earth is Cosmere.
  7. What about on Roshar? Any Knight Radiant or Squire would have an unfair advantage in sports. There's also the important question of pranks. How might some bored Misting or Radiant punk someone? "Alright, who Lashed everything in the entire kitchen to the ceiling? I'd be more impressed than mad, but it's chouta night, and none of the cooks are Windrunners." (Ignore me if I'm derailing too much, though)
  8. (So, yeah, apparently 84% of the stuff I post are rip-off tumblr posts but anywho) WoR spoiler
  9. When it's the 4th of July so you try drawing Aons in the air with your sparkler.
  10. Perfect. Now I have a noble beast I can ride into battle. Ryshadiums are getting out of style anyway. In return I leave this wooden training lightsaber, *buzzz* and *whooszhs* sounds not included.
  11. With your permission to use your art, I instantly thought of your modern AU drawing with Kaladin and his skateboard with Syl on it. My brother's really good at designing skateboards. He's even trying to start his own company with it. Maybe I could commission the piece
  12. Is it Kaladin doing the lastclap when he helps in Adolin's duel?
  13. Yeah, thinking about it, if each Herald took a country to teach them and get them caught up on lost knowledge, it'd be a lot faster than having them rush all over Roshar and try and get everyone taught before the next Desolation.
