  1. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, I've been busy. You guys raised some valid points about lightspren, so I changed the original post. My last dying effort to keep Lightspren with the truthwatchers is to bring up the possibility that Timbre is a lightspren just like Glys, but Timbre is in a different shape because she's with a parshendi. I'd think that an inkspren bonded to a parshendi would look like a parshendi, because of the way the parshendi viewed Inkspren. I see a lot of issues with this theory, but I might as well throw it up as a final defense.
  2. That's a good guess, the reason I'd didn't write any theories is that we don't know about the other two bondsmiths. They might very well be essentially their own orders in and of themselves. We don't have much to go on. Edit: I forgot that I wrote the theory of Roshar there, and thus contradicted myself. Although, connection actually works with Do what.
  3. But at the same time in our world, so do parrots, and they aren't sapient
  4. I've seen the flamespren mascot mentioned in a few other threads. I haven't seen any evidence for it, but it seems plausible and worth a mention. My issue with curiosity and bravery is that they are a bit too human based for underlying concepts of the universe, but maybe I misread that part. The reason I went with mistspren is because we saw them as one of the sapient spren type in Shadesmar. Maybe there are just random sapient spren races, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that. I called them mistspren because that what they are called in the book, but maybe that's a misnomer and they are really something like mysteryspren or twilightspren or curiosityspren. I forgot Glys was a he, but it could still be Stump's spren, or even Ym's. Brandon Sanderson has made a point of consistently describing them as light reflected through a gemstone. I don't think that there is a better name for that kind of spren, and Timbre didn't really strike me as the cognitive embodiment of light. Finally, on to the mascot spren. I like awespren as mascot and think it likely. Other possibilities include starspren, luckspren (my current choice for the skybreakers), musicspren (the one with the Ryshadiums), and passionspren. I was trying to think of relatively common ones that seemed to be above base emotions. Don't know if passion count, but they seemed powerful. I was just imagining a Radiant swearing one if his oaths, surrounded by hundreds of hungerspren, or winespren. Not really the most radiant of scenes.
  5. Now, I know there have been multiple threads with this topic, but I haven't found one that just talks specifically about the spree. So here, now that we have seen ten different kinds of salient spree, I thought it would be nice to try to match them up. I will be listing the Order, Spren (My best guess), the mascot spren, and the underlying principle they personify. Here we go: Windrunners: Honorspren Windspren Honor Lightweavers: Liespren/Cryptics Creationspren The underlying mathematics and numbers of the world Elsecallers: Inkspren Logicspren Knowledge? (If ink represents words) Bondsmiths: Superspren Gloryspren (At least for the Stormfather one) Roshar? (Going by the theory of Growing/Sky/Sea/Earth/etc.) Releasers: Ashspren Firespren? (Someone else's theory I have mixed feelings about) Ruin/Destruction (Makes logical sense) Skybreakers: Highspren Starspren? (It sounds viable) Morals/Ethics/Law/Justice? Stonewards: Stonespren/Foundationspren/Earthspren (Based on Shadesmar description) ? ? Edgedancers: Cultivationspren Lifespren Cultivation Truthwatchers: ???? ? ? Willshapers: Likely Lightspren, but not quite confirmed ? Mystery? (I don't know, I'm reaching here)
  6. The other totally out there idea that me and my brother invented is the opposite of the knights radiant. These bond with voidspren, use voidlight, and have their own orders and surges. Here are the surges: Opacity- X-ray, Fogging up windows Tangibility- Basically going through walls, making holes in the floor, etc. Density- Changing weight of objects Acceleration- Changing speed of objects (Holding a coin in your hand and shooting it at the speed of a bullet) Reflection- Forcefields Hydration- Taking water away from something, or putting it in Vibration- Vibrating t hings (It would be more useful than it sounds) Magnification- Making things larger Animation- Bringing things to life (Similar to awakening but not as versatile) Dynamism- Lazers
  7. That is an awesome idea. Maybe Harmonium?
  8. This thread are for the non-theory theories. This is for your ideas that seem awesome (at least to you), but don't have a real chance of actually happening. You don't have to have any evidence for these, just, wouldn't it be awesome if so and so happened. For example: I was thinking about the missing Radiant spren, and I invented a few. My favorites are Mindspren for the Willshapers, and Soulspren for Stonewards. Mindspren are shaped like floating cubes that change shape depending on the emotion they are feeling (A pyramid for anger, an orb for happiness, etc.) Soulspren on the other hand, are shape more like humans with long flowing clothes. They are covered in fire similar to Human Torch, but more regal looking. Imagine a dilemma where you can either save 100 people you've never met, or the closest person in the world to you. Mindspren would argue for saving the 100 people because 100>1, whereas Soulspren would argue for saving the one person because that person means more to you. Anyways, just write your random ideas. Quick note: There are a lot of amazing people here who could argue down to the smallest detail. I love that, that is the purpose of this site. However, that is not the purpose of this thread. Please don't criticize anyones' ideas. This is supposed to be fun.
  9. But it just seems weird how this appears three separate times. It could just be a coincidence, but this is Brandon Sanderson here.
  10. Could someone please provide the actual quote? I thought he cut them up to see what was inside or something of the sort. But besides that, all three seem to love taking living creatures apart.
  11. In what way does that not count as dissection?
  12. Hello Fellow Theorists, I have noticed something I cannot explain and was hoping your vast collective knowledge would be able to help. On three separate worlds we see the same traits in three different people. Nalthis- Tonk Fah: Has a strange obsession with dissecting people, directed toward animals by Denth. Roshar- Nan Balat: Has a strange obsession with taking living creatures apart. Scadrial- Forch: Has a strange obsession with dissecting people. Assuming this is not just some coincidence, (I mean, it's Brandon Sanderson, coincidences don't exist) where is this from. I am fairly certain that it is not Odium, it doesn't seem to be driven by hate. It also doesn't seem to be Ruin, because Ruin is not around for any of them. Same for Dominion. In fact, I can't find any of the Shard's work here. I am extremely curious about this, so if anyone has any ideas, other instances of this happening, or WoB, please post in the comments. Edit:Changed name of Forch
  13. So this isn't technically a full theory because of lack of evidence, mostly seeing what people think. Fist we have to ask the question, "was Adonalsium always Adonalsium, or did he pick it up." Seriously we need someone to ask that question, and unless Brandon Sanderson decides to visit Turkey, there is little chance of me being able to ask him. Moving on, I had an idea that Sazed would end up being the complete Adonalsium. It just makes sense to me. Unfortunately, because it makes so much sense, Brandon Sanderson will probably not do that. The reason it makes sense to me, is that Harmony is currently getting attacked by another shard, and, if he wins, he would probably take on that shard too. (Although, if he is being attacked by Odium, he would probably need to take a more positive shard too, because Odium and Ruin would probably outweigh Preservation.) Anyway, I think that there will probably end up being another Adonalsium, the question is, will it be Sazed. (If you don't think a new Adonalsium makes sense, please tell me in the comments. I have no problem with my theory being disproved.)
  14. Okay, thanks for that. Maybe it was just the blood associated with Hemalurgy that got me thinking that.
  15. I've always suspected that Shards have their own colors, but what was Ruin's color? Was it red, because I remember it being red, but that could just be my own imagination.
