  1. Since I first heard about the Survival Shard I've thought it was Kelsier. With an intent being something like Desire. Kelsiers overwhelming want to survive and the mixture of the shards intent leading him to flee/hide. Though the main problem with Kelsier being the shard is, it's very hard to imagine him not trying to interfere constantly.
  2. Apologies, I did mean Copper. That's what I get for not proof reading.
  3. Wax was confirmed as a savant in one of the Alloy of Law annotations. Here He gives a brief little definition that they're people who have burned their metal so often and for long that they have an almost instinctive control over the abilities. An epigraph in HoA states that most bronze mistings end up becoming savants, so Clubs almost certainly was. Especially given the stated effect was an increased range and Clubs is one of the best 'Smokers' in Luthadel(I would assume). So, from what I can see all savants aren't necessarily dependant... But the changes to certain ones physiology such as pewter and tin would almost certainly make them dependant on the metal. Savantism is more an adeptness with the metal from constant flaring/practice.
  4. Name: Harbinger - As I'd make the perfect herald or messenger as I could talk myself out of being killed and adapt myself to fit in to whatever sort of society was there... I also don't really want to be a High Epic or ruler, so the name fits someone who is working for someone else. Power 1: The ability to alter my appearance and physical properties. I can add bulk, change bone structure and other minor shape shifting abilities to change my physical appearance. This includes gender for situations where that may be useful. This would also allow for minor regeneration as I could reform muscles, skin, etc... Though it would be less effective against say getting an arm cut off. Power 2: Highly charismatic with the ability to charm and obtain the trust of almost anybody and talk my way out of any situation I may get myself into. It's not direct control of actions via words or an instant positive connection, more manipulation of emotion then outright control of it. Weakness: Wasps, any limb that gets stung by an insect like a wasp, bee or hornet can't be altered and reverts to the default. Their presence in a room would also negate my charismatic charms.(Who is keeping those around anyway?) Evil Manifestation: Given I don't have any powers that directly kill, I'd talk people who bug me into offing themselves or get their own loved ones to kill them. So I'd be hated because of what I force people to do.
  5. I didn't think any of the book covers showed David or at least in not enough detail to tell.
  6. Thanks everyone for the kind greeting. I look forward to discussing Sandersons works with you all more. That is also an amazing picture.(I almost said epic)
  7. I did think about this, but it's also stated that a shards intent shape the wielder. So Kelsier being the shard would have altered his personality. Thanks everyone for the replies, there are holes in this theory. It's just something I have a feeling on and it will more then likely be wrong. I just wanted to hear the opinions of others who have more information then I do.
  8. I am not sure if this has come up before. I have tried looking but didn't see anything, so I apologise if it has. I am also quite short on textual evidence to back this up, as it's just something that has been in my mind for a while. So sorry if things sound disjointed. I also hope that title is ok. Considering Kelsiers expanding knowledge of the cosmere now has anyone considered the possibility he may have become the 'Survival' shard that Brandon has mentioned? Harmony seems to imply something about Kelsier being missing or not around for him to talk to any more. Most people seem to believe he was the Sovereign and while this makes sense, it means he has a spike so would have been able to communicate with Harmony. So following this logic he has left the Scadrial realms in search of greater cosmerlogical(is this a term?) knowledge. Given we know he has taken up a shards power before it stands to reason he may desire/covet that power again and left Scadrial to go seek this power. Many people thought he had taken up Ruins excess power and is Trell, but the ends of Bands seem to indicate otherwise. So I hypothesize that he has run off to go become a shard and the knowledge he has found after doing so has scared him so much he has decided to flee until he could work out a way to get the upper hand. As far as I can tell, but I am sure others have more knowledge on questions Brandon has answered about this shard then I do... Is that it just wants to hide and survive and this is due to its knowledge of Cosmere events, so if Kelsier took out the previous holder of this shard(somehow) and with his vastly expanded awareness saw the true scale of events in which he just joined it may have spooked him. We also know that the intent is only tangentially linked to its desire to hide. I don't know, it just makes weird sense for me that the Survival shard is the hands of the Survivor. Thank you for reading, I hope it makes some sense.
  9. I loved Steris ever since the marriage contract. Mostly because her attention to detail and obsession with lists reminds me of myself when trying to plan things. Though, she is much more composed then myself when something not the list happens. She has only gotten better with more screen time. I actually like her more then Marasi now, though I also really enjoy the growth Marasi has had as a character from star struck wannabe groupie to being a capable fighter/detective in her own right.
  10. I have no idea if that's an actual term, but I love the sound of it. I have finished reading everything cosmere related and am almost finished with the entire Sanderson bibliography(Just the Alcatraz series and Calamity to go). I think about all the stuff in his books so much I figured I'd join a community that talks about Sanderson as much as I do. I look forward to meeting everyone and discussing one of my favourite authors and all his amazing worlds and their magic systems. Regards, Muzgrob.
  11. In the annotations for Alloy of Law, Brandon says "He’s what we’d call in the Mistborn world a steel savant". Here.
