  1. Look at that number of profile views. :o

  2. Don't know what is going on here but I appear to have been summoned...
  3. So I have been working on a voice acting demo reel to help apply for more acting work but and I love the Cosmere so I was thinking I could read/act out some of the more exciting and/or dramatic scenes from the various books. I would and have been rereading the Stormlight Archives but I was hoping I could get a little bit of help. Anyone have any quotes or conversations they think would sound awesome in audio? It could be from any books in the Cosmere though I am pulling from other authors as well such as Jim Butcher and Charles Stross. Thanks for all your help and when I've completed it I'll leave a link for anyone who is interested.
  4. When I workout I imagine I'm a man Reshi man named Kak who serves on bridge 7. I used to be a Reshi trader who left my isles to see Roshar for myself. Though quickly found myself insulting the wrong light eyes and ended up a slave. I moved around from household to household mostly causing trouble and talking back only to end up in the same caravan as Kaladin stormblessed. I never talked to the man, if anything I found him frightening. But when I saw him running training drills and lifting the spirits of bridge four I was inspired rather than resentful. From that day forward I would admire bridge four from afar to not get into too much trouble with the others, but train my body and mind for anything. If I was going to die on the shattered plains it would be while feeling alive. Never really determined whether I survived or not. It's kind of how I keep my self-motivated to keep pushing myself.
  5. So I have a bad habit of storing half of what I know in a coppermind including the memories that I even storied them in the first place. May be my short attention span tends to cause me to over do it with the stored memories. In any case, I love coming up with theories but I have a habit of remembering the odd bits and sometimes forgetting the little details. That said I like the group and would like to join. Though I will likely be using the Coppermind a hell of a lot to create my theories considering I have half of Sandersons work on kindle and the other half in audio-book format, so I can't really go back and check those. I mean I'd be interested in joining but if I had to pick one I'd be torn between two, either a theorybreaker, or theorybringer... So what would that make me a theorymender?
  6. Joined! I have over 100 games, Civ 5 and beyond earth, Guns of Icarus, Warframe, but mostly single player. You can see what I play here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/wolfie2112/games/?tab=all
  7. Wow, I can't believe i missed all that. Liked the theory about the allomancer koloss and all that, and factions? I'll need to check that out.
  8. Now that I think about it I want to see a twinborn ingest a bit of their own Metalmind and see if they can still tap into it... but if they are unable to burn it they will just be poisoning themselves.
  9. I'm under the impression that they are the armbands of the Lord Ruler. I hypothesis that they may be made of Nicrosil and Aluminum. And possibly store the essence of the Lord Ruler himself through Investiture and Identity. He may have done this to ensure he returns to life should someone manage to kill him. I imagine that anyone attempting to tap into both bands would be forced to become Rashek. Weather or not he retains his power I have no clue but that may be where Investiture comes in. Though, to be honest I thought that Investiture would just lock the identity in place it could bring his power along as well, we have no clue how investiture even works yet. To be honest if we don't know what it does or where it came from we will eventually find out about its existence at least by the end of some future book I imagine. I really hope I didn't spoil anything, it's just a hypothesis and I was not sure what book you have not read yet considering "Bands of Mourning" hasn't been released yet. In any case I'm sorry if I did.
  10. I wondered that too, didn't The Lord Ruler pierce his flesh with his Metalminds so that they could not be pushed or pulled as easily? So is it safe to say that you could use a Hemalurgic spike to both give you a Allomantic power while at the same time taping it as a metalmind if you already possess Feruchemy? Or am I remembering that wrong its been a long time since I read that book.
  11. Nah no Hemalurgic cookies for me I'll just stick to my metalminds. Also, I'll try not to murder my family... where did they run off to...... "Noooooooooo!"
  12. Hello, I'm relatively new to reading being as how I started late though I have been doing it for several years Sanderson and Jim Butcher had put their hooks into me and I couldn't stop. After having started with the "Dresden Files" I went on to read the first 4 mistborn books, Elantris, Warbreaker, Way of Kings, The fisrt two King Killer books, all of The Wheel of Time series, Words of Radiance, The Cosmir short stories, The rest of the Dresden Files series, The Laundry Series, and finally Shadows of Self which I finished today. So I basically went from reading about 1 to 2 books a year to having read 45 in the past 3-4 years all because Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher, Patrick Rothfuss and Charles Stross are geniuses. I'm an Artist, Entrepreneur, and aspiring Writer (though failing at it... the writer bit I mean) I've been coming up with story concepts, world concepts and spell systems since 1997 but have only been good at drawing them into existence rather than using words to describe my creations and have only been inspired recently, by these various authors, to even attempt this new medium. I think I will enjoy theorizing with the rest of you on the meanings behind all that Mr. Sanderson has given us.
  13. Is it possible that Trell could just be a name used but another shard and/or world hopper in disguise? That the religion was already in place but someone else used it for their own purposes and in what we currently know of Scadrial the previous version of this religion has nothing to do with what's going on now. I just realized this whole forum was based off Alloy of law and I just finished reading Shadows of Self, I almost jumped a bit too far forward and began talking about the new metal found and all that jazz. I'll go look for the appropriate forum for my theory on where that came from.
