  1. You also have to take into account the lighteyes vs. darkeyes is only stressed in Vorin countries. Iri, where Adolins mother is from, is typified by their golden hair, tanned skin and yellow eyes. Also, the rare infusion of new Darkeyed shardbearers and the more common tenner dahn to first/second nahn marriages. Also your precentage might be off for the atheli, being able to soulcast food, not to mention a quadruple yeild crop, random seasons mean food can grow all year round (500 days). A large standing army plus the grain growth is far more compact in the polyps described by Kaladin. I would guess that the percentage of farmers is closer to 60 than 80. Lighteyes to darkeyes percentage would probably be somewhere 30-70.
  2. Yes, that's right. My mistake. Though I imagine that increasing friction would be most devestating if you divided first. More surface area equals more friction energy to use/create. Also, Lift seems to be constricted to things she actually touches. For gliding around thats awesome but making things superheated would mean a lot of healing to do.
  3. One of the Oaths of the Edgedancers is about remembering the fallen isnt it. I am halfway through WoR for the 17th time and I dont want to look ahead for the quote, spoils the read through.
  4. She cannot increase it beyond normal. Thats abrasion its shared by the Releasers aka the Dustbringers and the Skybreakers. Its also the coolest of the surges in my humble opinion. The Dustbringers are madters of friction.
  5. I was sure there was a mention of it, now I'll have to re-read them again. As good an excuse for my 18th time through as any I suppose. The honor blades might be different, but traditional blades become un-bonded when their wielder dies, so either the honor blades are extremely different, and if they are they're useless in the current conflict anyway, there heralds either broke their bond with the blades or they're alive somewhere, possibly living it up in a cave somewhere pretending the whole of creation isnt going to hell in a handbasket.
  6. When Dalinar speaks the Words and bonds the stormfather he is told he will be a knight without Shards. Plural. The plate was also dismissed and resummoned by the two radiants in Dalinars vision, a Windrunner and an Edgedancer. Also, my theory is that each magical engine is linked to the Dawn Shard that spawned it, so Allomancy or Aons wont work on Roshar. Shardplate also isnt sentient, unlike Nightblood, so it might be rendered magically inert or destroyed altogether by world hopping. My theory tying magic to their Dawn Shard is based on the Epics relation to Calamity (Steelheart), the appearence of Galladon (Elantran) in WoK, and Vehel, who is likely Vasher (Warbreaker) both of whom are tied directly to their worlds magic engine and cant travel away from them for long.
  7. You cant bond more than one blade at once. It is said that honor invested a great deal of his power in Roshar, so much that he couldnt defend himself from Odium. It makes sense that Honor took up the fight against Odiums return once the Heralds abandoned their posts. He knew that the knights alone couldnt hold the line so he killed himself trying to protect his world, very honorable. The figure was silent for a moment. Then he spoke in a clear, crisp voice. “Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination. Speak again the ancient oaths and return to men the Shards they once bore.” He turned to Dalinar, meeting his eyes. “The Knights Radiant must stand again.” Logically, if Odium is defeated and the old oaths are resworn it might help Honor reform. He was splintered, but Elantris suggests the same thing happened to Aona (Domi) and the Elantrians managed to fix it. The letters say that Rayse (Odium) visited Sel and splintered Aona, though no timeline is established.
  8. Speaking oaths wont help in the least. Syl was still bound to Kaladin. Shallans spren, Pattern spoke about fixing broken spren. He says that fixing a broken spren requires a large number of spren and a lot of effort. Not a problem for the Cryptics perhaps as they are said to be numerous, but honorspren, who were almost completely wiped out would have more trouble. It also never says that a broken spren, once made whole will be willing to or even capable of bonding again. Using the shardblades seems much simpler a solution. It should also be noted that the desolation this time around will be different from the others, partially because Honor is dead, and more importantly because the Heralds have been rendered inert. With nine abandoning the pact and one suffering thousands of years of hell. A champion will be appointed by both sides and then, perhaps some manner of duel?
  9. In one of Dalinars visions he talks to Nohodon, and he says that not all spren are as picky with the ideals as Honorspren. In WoR after he accidentally swears himself into a corner Oath wise the stormlight is less effective than before, so Syl could be "promoting" him by allowing more access to stormlight. Pattern also talks about reviving broken spren, I imagine the process is different than what Kaladin dod as Syl wasnt truely dead, just gone. However that could account for the delay. Its also worth noting that Dalinar didnt get any Shards and the Bondsmiths are noted as being drastically different from the other Orders in Words of Radiance WoR the book Jasnah gave Shallan. There being only 3 members at any one time. I infer that the Nightwatcher is the same as the Stormfather, a spren of one of the Shards, in her case Cultivation. Her boons fit with Cultivating, pruning and planting and such, give and take. Dalinar bonding the Stormfather gives a possible reason for there only ever being three of them. Three shards, three shard-spren, three bondsmiths bound to them.
