  1. I thought that was perfect intro in all truth. It set up the characters and setting perfectly, and just the prefect touch of lightness to outline the harshness in the scenes. Truth be told I'd read that book in a heart beat. Also side note how you peppered in the lore was also great. It left me wanting to know what all that "cards" stuff will turn out to be.
  2. damnation, that was 50% right in the feels and 50% got me thinking.. The Santa your mad at that doesn't relate to your family, are you eluding to how if big business spent a fraction of what they did shoving that crap at us and used it for good the world would e a better place? Or am I just over reading as I tend to? Lol
  3. Hello and sorry if this is already a thing, I'm a tad new here. Over the past few months of following Brandon on social media, i have seen that he has a pretty big contingent of writers. It got me wondering, he's awesome, so there's a good chance you folks who like him and are writers don't suck. So if by chance you need another set of eyes to read some stuff for feed back. I would love to be that dude
  4. lol! What about instead it was like seitan? It's vegetarian and tastes a lot better and even looks meaty.
  5. Are up votes like a thing I should do sparingly? Because I totally have been handing em out all willy nilly.
  6. I'm no farmer...but carrots and other underground stuff like beets and tatters should do better then other veggies. But now that I think of it, the cream is probably a huge problem for light hungry plants like that... Someone should bring this to Mister Sanderson's attention, I wouldn't mind a quick chapter about food lol.
  7. They probably have onions n stuff, wasent sabriel starting farms? And I'm sure if rock can get his hands on non soul cast stuff for the nightly stews, chouta stands could. Also I like the gravy and actually fried bread idea.
  8. I love that idea... Maybe like an apricot cranberry sauce for ladies.
  9. That chouta looks pretty awesome, not to mention the super interesting flat bread she made.
  10. I completely forgot they had colorful rare chickens lol. So I'm feeling kinda like maby shredded pork and barley ball dipped in a beer batter fried. And since herdazians seem pretty Latino-ish for the sauce maybe like a nice thick chipotle gravy?
  11. Hello everyone, I'm brand new here and just finished reading words of radiance and loved it. I was hoping to perhaps get a little help in trying to identify some real world parallels to Mr Sanderson's made up veggies and meats. so feel free to chime in with your two cents at any time. So first of "flangria" to me since its like the basic meat of world I was thinking chicken? For lavis I get this feeling it could be like barley, since its used as food and to make beer. Last but not least what country would you feel Herdazians are based on? I know this is kinda of crazy but I love to make up recipes for book foods
