  1. The other place I can point to for information about the 16th Shard is https://coppermind.net/wiki/Shard#Unnamed_Shard, though most of that's the same information as is on the Survival Shard page. Beyond that, as LadyLameness mentioned, we try to be very careful about speculation and how we present non-canonical things; I'm not sure there's really anything in the Intellect RAFO that's useful on the Coppermind side of things and I don't think we're likely to make a new Shard until we have a canonical Intent or Vessel name.
  2. I will admit I'm not an expert on how quickly getting stabbed in the chest kills a person, but I don't really see a good reason for us to doubt the accuracy of the book here. If the timeline wouldn't make sense in the real world, then maybe things just work a little differently in the cosmere or there was some time dilation between the Physical Realm and wherever Rayse and Taravangian were. Yes, per chapter 114 (which is mentioned in the summary of that chapter):
  3. Szeth apparently does kill Taravangian shortly before he Ascends, which I think is what the summary is referring to here:
  4. Cross-referencing this thread from a couple weeks ago on a general (Malwish|Southern Scadrian|Scadrian) air(ships|craft) page: The problem I'll point out here is that "Scadrian" might still be too narrow, since the mechanics work elsewhere and could be adopted on other planets, while just "airship" is too broad, since it also sweeps up Surge-based aircraft like Fourth Bridge.
  5. Sorry about that; page creation permissions have to be granted manually, since we've found that it's generally better if people have a chance to discuss whether something should have a page and (if it's not obvious) what the page name should be beforehand. You should be able to create the page now--and please do keep raising questions as you encounter them; they've been very thoughtful (also, apologies for the delays in answer some of them; unfortunately good questions are often the hardest to answer).
  6. I definitely agree that we shouldn't try to cram everything into the Southern Scadrian page; at the same time, having the Southern Scadrian page, the Malwish Consortium page, and then individual pages for the Malwish, Hunters, and Fallen (plus the Maskless/Deniers of Masks, but they're at least not part of the Consortium) feels like maybe too much? I think the closest comparison is probably the region of Makabak on Roshar, where we have a page for the region and all the individual nations within it, but we don't also have an "Azish empire" or "Makabaki confederation" page. I think it's also tricky because so far the Malwish largely seem to be driving things; I wouldn't be terribly surprised if we never really hear much more about the old nations. Curious what others think.
  7. Technology (Gravatonics and Holosight are actually the only two pages missing infoboxes) and subjects without a proper name are definitely some of the things we struggle with most. Long-term, yeah, a section on the Southern Sacdrian page is definitely not where general information about this technology should be living; we probably want some sort of Allomancy-powered aircraft page (and I imagine at some point we'll want one for the Surgebinding fabrial based ones as well?), but I'm not sure what exactly the best name is.
  8. The capitalization of the phrase "Defiant fleet" / "Defiant Fleet" is inconsistent. Chapter 2 (page 19 of the Skyward Flight collection) uses lowercase, while Chapter 12 (page 111 of the collection) uses uppercase. Evershore chapter 11 (collection page 475) also uses lowercase; as best I can tell, the phrase does not appear in any of the other books.
  9. I think I've taken care of starmarks and the Lady Mason (I think the omnibus, especially in the notes Khriss has about the Professions, is clear enough that the Lady Mason is the Taisha of the Company)
  10. So, in general, the Coppermind is open for anyone to edit and we encourage people to fix any mistakes they spot. That said, I think there's some confusion in this specific case:
  11. Our understanding is that Stormlight Zellion is SP4 Zellion, so any information we previously had that is still relevant should go on the page that the new Zellion spoiler redirect points to.
  12. To maybe bring a little bit more clarity, the part of a design change (or any big change, really) that requires the most work and bandwidth from staff is by far all of the discussion about an idea, and further suggestions, and responding to feedback, and generally getting to a place where we feel good about a change, not the technical work to make it actually happen. As a somewhat extreme example, there are comments about how we wanted to replace our old logo at least as far back as 2012; that didn't actually happen until 2021 and when it finally got developed we had 11 different options just for the exact colors of the version of the logo used for the Coppermind Discord server to vote on (and that was after the broader 17S staff had already been working with the designer for some time!).
  13. Off the top of my head, the "Preferences" link at the top of the site includes the ability to set a custom signature, options for what notifications you want to receive, the ability to change date and time format as well as set your local timezone, enable or disable the Media Viewer, and a syntax highlighter. Personal CSS and JS pages also work on the Coppermind, if that's something a user wants to do. There may be options for some of the other things you're looking for as well; "the ability to customize how you view pages with a few clicks," for example, is pretty vague. If there are options we don't have that would improve the user experience, we're receptive to suggestions, even if they don't turn out to be workable for us.
  14. For future reference, issues with the forums are probably better-suited to the 17S Discussion subforum; I'll just drop a note to the staff on Discord in this case though.
  15. No worries! To be perfectly honest, we don't have a system for regularly doing award updates. Even our own awards pages will sometimes be months, sometimes over a year, out-of-date. If you ever notice that one of your general awards (i.e., not the monthly ones or special event ones, since we sometimes need to exercise some discretion with those at least, when we're actually on top of doing them) needs an update, I don't see an issue with you doing that on your own.
  16. A couple of comments: There actually was a conversation about international book titles specifically about a month ago: Book non english releases; I'm not sure what @T.rue's plans for working on that are at the moment. Someone also asked about collecting these translations more broadly on Discord back in late April (more specifically, the suggestion was for the sort of format Firesong is talking about, where, e.g., the Shard page would list all the different translations of that term); we couldn't really settle on a specific approach that we liked (basically, collapsible elements do not currently work on mobile and there were dueling concerns that either we don't end up with a lot of actual entries and it's best to just keep the info in Trivia or maybe a new section at the bottom of the page or we do get a lot of entries and we maybe decide to split it off to a subpage). Ultimately, we agreed it could just go in the Trivia section for now and created an {{interlang}} template to keep track of things, provide some very basic formatting for now, and make it easier to expand on the formatting in the future. No one ever actually started working on it, but, if you wanted to start putting this in Trivia sections (probably as an indented list?), that should be fine; once we have more of a sense of the scale we can revisit formatting. As a general note, indices tend to take a lot of work to keep up-to-date, so I'm not sure how much support there would be for having two separate versions (unless we could find a way to sync one from the other)
  17. Blocked the first IP address. To be honest, I'm not sure a place to report people on-wiki would actually get things handled faster, since reports in places like here or Discord (where all Keepers can be tagged at once) are more likely to be seen by a Keeper quickly. Don't really have the time right now to engage with that second IP, but if someone else wants to try to talk with them, I think that's fine.
  18. Looks like it's probably from Epilogue 6 (MeLaan): That's the only passage I found that mentions red hair
  19. I just made a little change; the bigger thanks for dealing with the situation goes to you and LadyLameness
  20. FYI @LadyLameness, we were actually able to implement a config change that let's us get people's actual IP address from CloudFlare, so I've extended the IP block
  21. Brandon talked about why those four metals had to be paired the way they were some in the TFE annotations and also suggested it's intentional that the pairings don't quite line up with what you'd expect, as a result of the proper external temporal metals actually being bendalloy and cadmium. Further general discussion about the intricacies of the Allomantic Table should probably go in the Mistborn or Cosmere subforums though
  22. I think there's some confusion here--the intention of the sentence that accompanies that footnote is to contrast the malatium shadows that Vin and Kelsier see when they simply burn the metal with the more expansive vision that Kelsier has by flaring the metal as he dies (hence the citation to Secret History part 1, chapter 1):
  23. Given how Brandon talked about this over the years (e.g., in changes he would make for a movie and calling it a "post-Era-1 retcon where I realized I need all the God Metals to do different things"), I think it's more likely that Brandon decided to do the retcon more recently. Peter's reasoning from the pre-2009 days may have played a role in convincing him, but I don't think anything we have now requires Brandon to have made the retcon that long ago.
  24. Thanks for drawing attention to this! I noticed when adding Virtuosity that the planets row wasn't updated after TLM either and thought it was a thing we might need to have a (hopefully brief) Keeper chat about (e.g., do we want to keep including all planets, keep systems together, split planets up by significance, etc.). Probably needs a few other updates for things like the Dawnshards as well. We have some other things I think we need to clear off our plate at the moment, but I was hoping to bring it up soon.
