  1. I think it’s because the towers defenses were flushed of void light they were restored to work against void light meaning it just full stopped their powers from working. If a radiant had been in the rock when the tower defenses turned against them I could imagine they would be stuck within the rock as well.
  2. I saw it coming from a mile away. The whole ‘deadeye Spren don’t talk’ thing was a dead giveaway to me as soon as he talked about having a trial that she would end up speaking. Did seem mighty convenient that some random inkspren would bring up the idea to use her as a witness and neither him or shallan would think to use his partnership with Maya as an argument at all.
  3. I can understand why some people felt this part was slow. I have a problem with wanting to know what is happening and it does feel like not a lot actually happens in this part but the information we get is really interesting. I will probably enjoy this part more on a re-read.
  4. For some reason I thought of the reference to "El" as Elend but I can't remember if anyone ever actually refers to him as El. Maybe that will become a bit clearer as we find out who the two people working on the rhythm of war are.
  5. osted Today, 02:10 PM On page 657 of The Way of Kings Kindle Version, It reads "No," Kaladin said. "We not going to treat him like the lighteyes treat us..." Should it not read "We're not going to treat him like the lighteyes treat us."?
  6. I think it has to do with the Atium providing a small burst of the power but is burned in the process. After that, it is able to regenerate, whereas the Lerasium invests the ingester with Allomancy and it is used permanently and passed on from there. You can't inherit the powers of Atium, but you can inherit Lerasium's power.
  7. I think its more like shes following his movements with her knife.
  8. Location 1117 on the Kindle edition (on Kindle Cloudreader so i cant see page numbers). When Kelsier is talking about the stash behind the mantle left by Mare and himself, it says, "Those was gone now." It should read "Those were gone now." Unless I'm missing something painfully obvious. Actually, I think it may have been meant to say "That was gone now." Implying the stash as a singular object instead of a grouping of object. So idk, one of the two haha.
  9. I took as much time off reading this as I could today and wow... Just finished it (I will probably regret staying up so long tomorrow). KELSIER! I mean, its heavily implied that its him at least. I mean, the word "SURVIVE" etched into his arm should be a dead give away. Also, assuming the character isn't lying, referred to himself as first a King among the people of Elendel, then a God. While it can be said Kelsier was never really a King, he did lead a revolution and was followed by a lot of people. That could be interpreted as a King when translated to the southern language (Idea came from another user on this thread.) Regarding the Set, I assumed someone in the party was a plant. I wondered, damnation if maybe Steris isn't just a great actor and is actually a member of the Set, sent to infiltrate and get close to Wax. I mean, considering her change in character (however likely and plausible it may seem) I could believe it. As soon as his sister came in the picture I assumed she was in the Set too though. At that point, I didn't know if it would be Steris or Telsin. I'm glad it was Telsin. I'm not glad Wayne didn't kill her. Kudos to Wayne for getting over his fear of guns! (Kind of... As he said, its a shotgun, it barely counts.) Wayne had me in tears this book. He's one of my favorite characters in the cosmere. He's just so ridiculous but in such a calculating way. It's nice to see when his mask comes off and you see the real him underneath. Which seems to be only fleeting glances, but still, you can tell there is much more to him than meets the eye, as usual. Lets see, do I have any other thoughts? Idk I just finished the book and my mind is still reeling from the whole Kelsier thing (I kind of both want, and don't want, it to be him). Anyway, wow what a ride. Can't wait for the finale! Stormlight 3 though first. Lets do this!
  10. Hellscythe I don't think it absolutely means there is a cultist soldier. Because even if there wasn't, taking away the ability to guard yourself every night forces the soldiers to become more involved, and to try to find another soldier is dangerous because you could easily give yourself away to a cultist. Sure, they could do the protect trade off, but its a much harder win condition when you can't just always protect yourself. Now, there is the possibility of there being a cultist soldier, but I don't think its an absolute.
  11. He could have also just changed it because there may be more than one soldier. If there are two soldiers and they're constantly protecting themselves, the cultists couldn't kill them and it would help the town immensely to have two people that just can't die. Now they have to pick who else to protect asides from themselves, meaning they have to figure out who to trust and they have to participate rather than just sitting in the background not participating because they are always safe.
  12. At this point, I'd just like to say, I abstained from voting because I had no strong suspicions of who to kill. So I just did not put in a vote. But, for now I'm not going to read too deeply into creccio or panda because I don't think a cultist would not vote for someone. I mean, we could easily look at the two who voted for someone else and say they're cultists and colluded in trying to kill an innocent person. The cultists would gain much more from a first day mislynch than we would so yeah, I don't think they would vote for no one.
  13. Its lynching in a vacuum he's calculating, stating that lynching is always better on the first day than not. The first day is the closest to a vacuum we can get with as little information as has been spread at this point. I think the math falls apart definitely the further along it goes but for now I think its valid.
