  1. This is pretty super exciting, yay contests and swag!
  2. yes! This totally needs the follow up interview!
  3. Add me to the list of "own both, will get to when..." That said, I'm hoping to start it some time this weekend.
  4. Lots of typos, lack of content...good times. I'm keen on the young kid who doesn't really know any better theory.
  5. Thanks! I'm just offering the 'garden variety idiot' suggestions ;D The only other thing that bugs me is that the Messages/Posts/Replies bit at the top runs together and into the home/help/search etc buttons. I'd align the text bit to the left, the buttons to the right, and perhaps add one of those break line things | between Unread posts and Unread Replies links. but don't think that's a design issue per se, so I'm not sure that it goes here. ??? *scampers out of the thread!*
  6. Sorry, guys - when I say site I meant boards. I'm terrible about that some times. and I was totally talking up the site (and boards!) at D*Con - and others were doing so without my intervention which was even more awesome. on colors - I like 'em - but I like blues. It's likely not for everyone, and I'm sure custom skins for folks wouldn't be turned away - but also likely on the low end of the 'to do' list. My background is from the WoT fandom. So I've seen lots of different styles, themes, whatever - some were great, some weren't functional. They've all got their pros and cons, and I totally get the 'can't please everyone' bit! I'm more than happy to point out a few 'these aren't bad' designs that are out there to clarify my inability to express myself as I dig a deeper hole. Keep in mind that I don't know what I'm talking about (tech-wise) when I say the next bits! Here's a few thoughts on the parts that make the boards feel dated: it's all very square, and the few buttons that aren't are a bit clunky, almost cartoonish. the icons for posting (where it says Add BBC tags) look older, but I can't imagine there's much to be done with them. Almost like 'windows classic' vs the XP+ mode on a desktop the drop down style for the subforums. most go A>B>C, whereas we've got the folder tree thing. reminds me a bit of bbs.
  7. Brandon has told quite a few groups (a few in Canada most recently) to start Facebook groups, and get people who are actually serious about attending to join/like/whatever them. It's something a bit more tangible that he can send to TOR when they're looking at what cities to set up.
  8. To piggyback on Shivertongue's coments: Coming back from Dragon Con, that older feel was one of the main comments folks seemed to have about the site. The basic feel of it actually had a person or two wondering if the site was live yet. Having 'oh pretty' pop wouldn't hurt.
  9. I'm @litrachel. Most of my posts are mundane things: what I'm reading, roller derby stuff, WoT stuff, convention stuff, etc.

I'd be a soother. It not brass, I'd choose zinc or steel. I'm more of the diplomat than the fighter - so I'd likely find brass or zinc more useful than some of the other more physical metals.
  11. I could see Ellen Page, just because we've seen she's able to play characters that go from uncertain to very sure about themselves. I'd worry that Summer looks too mature - but could totally nail the physical aspects of the roll. I only bring up age because Vin's what, 16-22ish throughout the trilogy? Not that character age has stopped casting before... All that said, I'm such a fan of no-name actors being brought in for epic movies of epicness. (which this would totally be, just sayin' )
  12. I'm Rachel, and I kick around several sites for Brandon's work as well as WoT-things. Excited to see you guys open for business and look forward to helping contribute any way I can!
