  1. I know this doesn't have to much to do with the books themselves but I still find this subject very interesting. A while ago I saw In the Facebook group for the storm light archive Someone asking the question of what are your personal ideals. This really stuck out to me and I started thinking and I finally came up with mine. "I will improve myself for the benefit of others" I have always enjoyed helping other people but I found that this specific wording is key because I have been preparing for an LDS mission for the past couple of months. (And before you ask, I don't know where I'm going yet.) "it is ok to feel as long as I keep moving" I have struggled with depression the past few years and this was a hard lesson I had to learn. For a while I would refuse to feel anything and I would just be an emotionless man plowing through life, eventually some friends helped me realize just how important it is to feel, even if the emotions are sad. After that I began to really move forward. Now that I've shared mine I want to hear your personal ideals, and if your comfortable with it please share how or why you discovered it. Let's please keep the discussion respectful especially concerning the various struggles and goals the people have.
  2. Ok but what would it look like? Some would be pretty reasonable combinations like windrunner and edgedancer or windrunner bondsmith but what about a windrunner skybreaker? I would really like to see a character bond two spren.
  3. I'm not sure if I should even ask this, but can you spike a plant? I'm mainly thinking of a tree or better yet a stick but I am open to spiking a carrot.
  4. I have to agree with all of the above but a few that haven't been mentioned yet are 1:when Rock shoots Amaram with the shard bow(I believe its Amaram I could be wrong though). 2:Shallan creating her illusions during the battle of Thaylen city. 3: wit giving his advice to shallan. but I have to say Teft saying his third oath was probably the most feeling moment in the book for me personally.
  5. After a long break from the forums here I just had to make a return. I finished OB earlier today and holy cow I love this book! This book made Shallan's character arc possibly my favorite so far, I love her slow decent into madness and how she eventually became functional with three personas fighting for control. Her story is a heart wrenching one but I can't help but to love how well Sanderson wrote it. What about the rest of you, is there a character that OB made you love?
  6. I'm going to have to hop onto that boat Stormgate. I really can't see any better way to make movies of these books than have the fans make them themselves. Think about it we know everything that needs to be in them and we know weekday isn't quite necessary. The only problem I see is funding if this gets big enough, but that could potentially be solved through brandon.
  7. The fact of the matter is that we can only speculate on this due to our lack of information. From my understanding we really only know two things that have relevance, 1 is that Wax and Wayne takes place in between books five and six of SA, 2 the cloud is depicted as red ( which I don't think is a coincidence because of the Kanda at the end of BoM).
  8. I wonder if you could awaken thors hammer like nightblood? And if it's possible what command would you give it?
  9. You should probably do a more comedic trailer mainly because getting the inquisitors to look right is going to be incredibly difficult. Besides it would be kind of nice to see a different view on story.
  10. Twinborn mainly because I would really want to be an A pewter F iron twinborn. Would you rather have a leresium bead ( that you can burn) or have nightblood with a few hundred breathes.
  11. I personally don't have a problem with this. What I will say is there is no such thing as a villain, yes there is an antagonist and a protagonist but either one of them could be doing the worse things. What I'm trying to say is the Lord ruler is more of a hero than people give him credit for he saved an entire planet full of life and he took on immortality to make sure it stays safe. The only reason he did the things he did was because he literally had to for the greater good. He died because of someone's blind perspective on the whole situation.
  12. I like that idea but there needs to be ferrings in there. I think there should be 16-32 players and twinborn, medallions are allowed. Though there can't be compounders and you can only have one of each type of misting/ferring. For example if wax played this with a pewter Medallion that would be 5 of the 32 powers because then he would have iton steel aluminum nicrosil and pewter.
  13. Even if his surges aren't useful in combat he still has stormlight that will give him a physical advantage over any soldier. He will also get a shardblade once he reaches the right level. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only reason he's bad in combat is because of his disease and the screaming shardblade. Stormlight can fix his body and he just needs to get rid of his current blade. Now I'm by no means saying that Renarin will end up like Kaladin or Adolin, I really doupt that he wants to be 100% on the battle field killing entire armies single handedly. What I am saying is that he will have quite a bit of military cababilaty both on the front lines and off. I think he will end up a bit more like Shallan where they are both primaraly off the battlefield but can function just fine on the battlefeild with a bit of training and practice.
  14. A question you should always ask yourself is, is it going to be like Harry potter where you say word and wave a wand or is it more like mistborn where its more of a science with specific laws and rules?
  15. Now let's take it one step further and think of the military capabilities. You could reduce the weight of supplies and we all of a sudden have an army of coinshots and pewterarms. This also makes room for sports requiring different ferrings and mistings. Imagine a version of football with pewterarms coinshots skimmers and pretty much all of the metallic arts. This also makes room for fitness and conditioning. Dont want extra calories rent a bendalloy mind and the extra calories can be sold to people looking for a really quick meal. As well as tourism rent a tinmind and enjoy the view. Maybe even use a coppermind to give almost a virtual reality experience. Sorry for the rant and going off topic i tend to get excited about these things.
