  1. Dude! I was JUST about to comment that! We haven't seen a Krell yet, and it would be a Sandersonian Twist to have them be a fodce of enemy humans. Like, what if it's Varions forces with superior weapons and armor, but less numerous?
  2. In Chapter 29, where Shallan and her party venture forth, Adolin and Renarin are definitely described as wearing their Shardplate. Yet when the fighting is in full, we have a mention of wounded moving to the center to be bandaged by Lyn os Lopen. Then Renarin falls back and starts to "glow with Stormlight, healing those who were hurt." And in the next chapter, "Renarin quickly knelt next to a bridgeman who had been hurt, removing his gauntlet and infusing the man with healing Stormlight." What do you guys think about this in regards to the theories that I've seen around about Surgebinders using Surges while in Plate? About if the Plate would just feed off the Stormlight/Surge. Also, in the second instance, do you think he's using Regrowth, or is he actually giving the man Stormlight and letting it heal him naturally? I don't recall the latter happening before. When people have been infused with Stormlight in the past it was for the purpose of using a Surge(Gravitation), not granting them the passive effects of holding Stormlight.
  3. My money is on Regrowth as well, I'm just suspicious because of the wording there. Also, no evidence doesn't mean it isn't possible. Not likely, I agree, but still. The arena thing is valid, yeah. I'm curious if just using the Plate drains the gems' Investiture, or if it's only to repair it.
  4. Thaaaat's right! Thank you for clarifying. That rings as many bells as are in Kharbranth.
  5. If I recall correctly, last we saw he was heading away from the warcamps on a cart, with his shardplate hidden in the cart. My guess would be he returned to some contacts in the Sons of Honor for more plottin' or for refuge.
  6. This. Sanderson seems to be the only one who recognizes that people are flawed. We believe what we want, ultimately, and are often wrong when we think we know something. Why should a person in a book(for all intents a real person in the context of that world) be all-knowing and perfectly truthful?
  7. Personally, this is my belief/concern as well. Ialai is out for blood, she just needs to find out whose she needs. Given that Sadeas' last on-screen demand of her was to find something to hurt Dalinar, this idea terrifies me. there is so much she can do depending on what her spies have discovered thus far. And if one of them discovers Adolin did the deed...
  8. Looking cool? Kinda like floating two feet in the air with a glowing Shardspear, and making a speech about Voidbringers before flying off into the distance?
  9. Oh nice! Take an upvote for this cool idea. I like the Event Horizon/Macross method you have going on. I also have no ideas to support or deny it, but it makes a realmatic sense to me, based on the Spiritual Realm location-independence. But how to get there and back out again... As far as Rosharan FTL, I daydream of Shardships powered by Fabrial Drives, or maybe Navigators using Surges(Gravitation? Maybe mixed with another Surge?). Now I'm wondering if perhaps Elsecalling is the answer, and if perhaps one can somehow get to the Spiritual. Perhaps by first going through the Cognitive? Realmatic shifting as transportation makes me think of Warrens in the Malazan books. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SCI-FI STORMLIGHT!
  10. Posting the text in question for study. It should be noted that the branch isn't actually white, as the questioner said in that signing quote. Thus it wouldn't presumably be Fainlife.
  11. The flakiness would match, but I thought it more resembled soapstone than a gemstone. At least to my recollection.
  12. Ooh. I just got to his trophy room in the audiobook. I didn't know about this WoB, but that's crazy it's from Yolen. I wonder if/what Yolen had regarding magic other than Fain and Yolish Lightweaving. Also, I've looked here and on Reddit, but I couldn't find mention of(quoting for ease): " 'That chunk of pale pink crystal looks like it might be...some kind of gemstone. But why is it so delicate?' Bits of it had flaked off in its case, as if simply setting it down had almost crushed it." I would love to know what that is.
  13. Might I also point out that even if it is a bandolier for ammunition, it need not be for a gun. You could store any number of small projectiles in one. Arrows, stones for a sling, or bolts come to mind, though it could even have been for something like infused spheres(going off the idea above that it might also just be just a form of backpack). I may be remembering falsely ,as it's been a while since I read them, but I think in Mistborn once or twice someone has a bandolier for vials of metal. Anyway, lots of different non-bullet options for ammunition alone. Something to think about.
  14. If I recall correctly, there are some hints or ideas that Shinovar itself is a foreign land mass. i.e. not originally part of Roshar. How might that affect things in the Cognitive? Food for thought.
  15. Yeah, a friend of mine pointed this out. And having a good number of those already, I'm still sorely tempted to purchase it
  16. As far as other theories, I've seen some ideas floating around here that the Ones Above are Silverlight dwellers or 17th Shard members. Given their specific interests in Sixth, with the shardpool and the Aviar, that could make sense.
  17. Oooh man. A thunderclast?!
  18. I have a strong feeling it's symbolic for the Shards. The two winking out together could be Devotion and Dominion. I don't suppose there's a specific number of stars he sees?
  19. Do you happen to have a confirmation on Adonalsium? I haven't heard that before, and I'm honestly not sure how the Shattering was a thing of Ruin, when Ruin was still a part of Adonalsium at the time.
  20. Steris: "It has been my experience that the safest place in a gunfight is near you, Lord Waxillium." Also, you should totally use the symbol from Arcanum Unbounded for the card backs, if you don't have an idea already. I'll attach the picture I took of mine.
  21. Hi all, I've noticed a lot of games that I play or watch, and just think "Oh, if they made a (Cosmere series) video game, this would be perfect to use!" So I just though it'd be cool to start a thread where people can showcase a particular mechanic or feature from a video game that would translate well into a game set in the Cosmere(A Mistborn game, Stormlight game, Warbreaker game, etc.) Allow me to start this off with two clips. Gravity Rush 2 The main character uses what could very easily be a Surgebinder using Gravitation. Specifically Lashings. The little cat that materializes(Like a spren!) is just icing. Teslagrad Character obtains a cloak(Mistcloak? :D) that allows him to do what could be called Steelpushes and Ironpulls. Hope you all have some cool ideas to add! (Edit: Link fixes)
  22. Nice, thank you for sharing that info! 'Our Lord' opens up some possibilities, assuming there is a correlation between Adonai and Adonalsium. Like perhaps Adonalsium used to be the sovereign of the 16 Vessels, and they had to rebel against him for some reason. Or it could simply be a form of respect. Dragonsteel can't come fast enough.
  23. Noticed this one on the cover of a copy I borrowed from the library. Ugh. UGH.
  24. A+ work by the whole team! Fantastic work, all. I neeeeed to see more.
