  1. Each one is a seperate short story. The third and fifth River Song boxsets are very enjoyable and are highly recommended (the third in particular has some of the best Who writing.)
  2. Lurking this thread for new books. I've finished Hard to Be a God by Arkady Strugatsky which was excellent, Vicious by Schwab which was good but not fantastic (a bit Reckoners-ish), The Wolf Road by Lewis which was average. The two best books I've read recently were the Terra Ignota books by Ada Palmer and I'm in post book depression.
  3. I've been reading To Like the Lightning and Seven Surrenders and its pretty amazing so far.
  4. My top reads for 2016 (obviously excluding Sanderson's ones) 1. Hyperion Cantos (all four, but to say that the latter two are a bit worse is an understatement) by Dan Simmons 2. The Fifth Season and The Obelisk Gate (Broken Earth trilogy) by NK Jemisin 3. The Coldfire Trilogy by CS Friedman 4. The Traitor Baru Comorant by Seth Dickinson 5. The Dagger and Coin Series by Daniel Abraham 7. The Long Price Quartet by Daniel Abrham 8. Solaris by Stanislaw Lem 9. The Killing Moon by NK Jemisin 10. The Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov Honourable Mentions: Flowers for Algernon, Nightfall, Roadside Picnic, The Amber Chronicles, Fevre Dream, Shattered Sigil Trilogy. There were other books I didn't like but I haven't mentioned them here.
  5. The colouring of the art and the art itself is worlds better than what I expected. I never read western comics because the lazy use of black flood fills, blocky figures, strange/over-referenced/traced/bad anatomy, excessive shading, gradient tool/soft brush abuse and stock photoshop effects like lightflares are overused and usually very offputting. However, from the start White Sand is a rare and lovely exception. Not only does it have lovely art on the cover, the lovely art is actually maintained the whole way through, with nice shading tint choice in most panels (but the darker palettes do get funny palette choices) and the coloured linework and the execution of linework is a huge plus in my book. Poses are well executed and costuming is top notch (I love the way that the artist draws the clothing folds). Tasteful and restrained use of lighting effects. Scenery is also very detailed and aesthetic - detailed without being overwrought and overshadowing all the characters and effective without looking unnatural.
  6. I finished The Shadow Of What Was Lost. It was really good and filled with plot twists.
  7. I'm pretty sure it's human maybe he has multiple personalities or perhaps more likely he just crushes his true self in the sake of duty.
  8. I hope that Kelsier doesn't pull a Char Aznable. I'm fond of Kelsier and wish to believe that he had a change of heart towards the end.
  9. Manga is amazing and anime is mediocre at best. By the way, Jun is working on a new manga so hopefully chapters of it will be out soon. Crimson shell is also worth a read if you haven't already. Lol I think we expected it to be SNK tier but it turned out to be full of quality. Manga art is top notch though. ---------------------------------- Currently reading Tokyo Ghoul:Re Currently watching: MSG Zeta
  10. SAI is a must, beautiful line stabilisation. Lazy Nezumi is pretty good, however!
  11. Listening to Komm, süsser Tod at the end of Fireflight... Tumbling down, tumbling down...
  12. >Vampire/steampunk novel by Sanderson I'd read it.
