  1. Now I may just be stretching things to make them fit as the story of warcraft, particularly draenor is my favorite story. Anyhow let's begin. We got the Alethi who had a leader who from what we know was either corrupte or swayed to bring back the void bringers ( Gavilar) We got the Draenei who had a leader who was corrupted or swayed to pledge allegiance to demons and enslave his entire population ( Kil'Jaeden) We got the listeners or parshendi who in order to conquer their opposition they willfully corrupt themselves with voidspren to gain great power( voidspren, Eshonai) We got the orcs who willingly drink the blood of the demon Mannoroth to increase their power in order to conquer all(Mannoroth,Grommash) Following the idea that the listeners are the native species on Roshar, it's make them even more similar as on draenor the orcs are the natives, and the Draenei were ousted from their home planet of Argus ( tranquilline halls) . I'm sure there's more similarities, but those are the key ones to cement this thread. What do you Gus think?
  2. PLEASE NO MISTBORN SPOILERS I've read the two books in the storm light archive and am just getting into the first book of mistborn, and I realized through this forum that there connected. Is it a big deal that I read storm light before Mistborn?
  3. Not exactly complainin, just stating something I noticed. I dunno just kinda irritated by the Jasnah thing (finished book 2 days ago ) cuz I thought it would be more serious as I just finished Song of Ice and Fires last book, dunno just transitioning and making a conversation point
  4. It seems that in other books the main characters ( barring got) are protected by plot shield. Here's and example, halfway through the novel in a minor battle you know there's little to no chance of the main characters being injured, let alone killed. This is called plot shield in my mind, that the character is too important to the plot that they must live. Generally, shard plate/surges mean you're practically invincible in a fight. There's rare occursnxes in the book where shard bearers are killed, and no radiant has been killed yet. I'd say giving a character shards/surges means they are in the little bubble of invincibility unless the plot requires their death, and there's usually buildup to the death, so you know there will be no random out of the blue deaths of main characters
  5. The Jasnah one. Can someone tell me where I can see this chapter?
  6. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pteruges Is it like these?
  7. Okay so is it just me or is having Jasnah alive a disappointment? Don't get me wrong I enjoyed her character, part of that is that she was a mentor to Shallan who died and influenced Shallan. I feel she should've stayed dead for the story.
