  1. This was going to be my point. The Lopen has never perceived himself as 'missing' an arm. I imagine that if Rysn hadn't been so defeated with her disability, she might have been able to be healed to. I like to think that she'll still take the ship her Babsk gave her, go on an adventure, discover herself, become a willshaper and be healed.
  2. We know there are whole pantheons in which every member is Bavadin, or rather, an avatar of her.
  3. You specifically said the First Oath. That has nothing to do with physical form of the spren. That comes with later oaths. Life before death. It is easier to die than to live. Radiants need to choose to live (Not commit suicide by poison or jumping into chasms) Strength before weakness. Those who are strong need to serve those who are weak. There are a lot of interpretations of the first oath. All I'm trying to point out is that I don't see that it prohibits a pacifist from swearing it. They may struggle with future oaths, depending on their order, but if it was clear before, Oathbringer showed us that there were Knights that don't progress through all five levels.
  4. Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination. I don't see anything about combat. It can be inferred, true. But it doesn't have to be.
  5. Looking on the inside to see how things work??? Sounds a lot like a surgeon to me.
  6. Count me in on the Rlain as Bondsmith wagon! He seems perfectly placed to do some uniting.
  7. That's a great theory! He's seems so different from Malata, it would be interesting to see the clash between the two.
  8. He's also really good at stealing or "trading". Maybe his resonance is having an innate sense of knowing when people aren't looking or distracted enough to make a swap.
  9. The way men describe using Saidin makes me think of Tightrope from The Greatest Showman.
  10. I agree that something isn't adding up. I don't see the 'we were the original invaders' reveal to be that upsetting. Out of all of Mr. T's leaks to the coalition that seemed to be the least worrisome. I'm a US citizen, with some ancestors that come over on the Mayflower. While I have felt sympathy for the suffering of the natives of this land, I have never felt any guilt over my lot in life. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the psychology presented in Oathbringer. I know there's more to it with the destruction of Ashyn and such, but it still seems weak to me.
  11. So it's been pretty clear that a majority of KRs abandoned their oaths in the Recreance which killed their spren and left shardplades and shardplate. I wonder if any individual Knight before that had ever abondaned his/her oaths and left a dead spren shardblade.
  12. I can't remember which book or who said it, but wasn't it mentioned that when the war first started humans were harvesting the Parshendi gemhearts after battles?
  13. I like it. That could also help explain why Kal's slave brands haven't healed. He doesn't see himself worth saving.
  14. 2019 has been a pretty rough year for me so far. My emotional state has been...prone to sadness. I've been re-reading SA and there have been plenty of times I've shed a tear or ten. It tends to be during Shallan's or Dalinar's struggles. But I think it's been a good thing for me. It has given my emotions an outlet.
  15. I agree with Spren = Nightwatcher. My reasoning is based on the fact that the Nightwatcher is Cultivation's boss spren. I don't see Stone = Earth like some suggest. To me, stone doesn't grow, it can't be cultivated. Spren are the....how did Syl put it, little pieces of God. They represent ideas, and ideas can change and be cultivated.
  16. Didn't Szeth see a few of the Skybreaker spren after his paintball fight? They liked like a break in the sky. I don't think they'll all shy. I agree that Nightblood probably scares them.
  17. Thinking more of Harmony + Devotion + Dominion I came up with: Solidarity, Cooperation, or even Unity maybe?
  18. I've thought about how 'regular' people might try to use the Dor to Ascend. But never considered someone who is already a Vessel might be able to. Can you imagine if Harmony was able to somehow 'move' to Sel and eventually gain two more shards? Sazed would be quarter-Ado! Watch out Odium. Preservation + Ruin + Devotion + Dominion = ??? (I never was good at the game of coming up with combined shard names)
  19. Shoot, I recently saw a WoB about your second question, but can't find it now. From what I recall, Rand and Moridin's souls were linked since they crossed balefire streams. At the end of the book, the soul that wanted to live, Rand's went to the body that would live, Moridin's, and the soul that wanted to die, Moridin's, went to the body that would die, Rand's. It also mentioned your first question about the pipe. But he just said that Robert Jordan had already written that part, it's straight from him. And RJ didn't leave any notes about how or why Rand was able to. I agree with @Dr. Dapper's thoughts.
  20. I'm re-reading OB again. In chapter 39, the Knights Radiant are meeting. Pattern comments to Shallan that the room has memories. Shallan mentions it to Jasnah, suggesting that she inspect it in Shadesmar. I don't recall anything coming of it, or even being mentioned again. Before I keep reading and forget about it, I figured I'd ask here. Does this come up again? If not, has anyone asked Brandon about it?
  21. That doesn't mean they don't also have a high priestess.
  22. Yep, I think I understand the location limitations on Sel. I thought you meant that she wouldn't be able to use them at all. I imagine if Steris found herself in Rose Empire with enough time, she'd be a great forger.
  23. Is all Selish magic hard to hack? I understand that Elantrian and ChayShan are. But Dhakor magic seems like it wouldn't be difficult, if you have access to sacrifices and the constitution to make those sacrifices. And Forgery seems like it just needs study ( A LOT of study).
  24. They just have to make sure the other champions are cognative shadows
  25. I'd love to hear Nightblood with Ralph Wiggum's voice.
