  1. Only he absorb the inspector and most of the other police.
  2. here ya go http://www.datesandevents.org/people-timelines/36-timeline-of-jesus.htm Google FTW. I'm pretty sure you could google any of the sub heading along the time line and read about it.
  3. I'm guessing you posted a lot in the last 2 months but now it's 1130 you should be in bed by now.
  4. Jedi is very much a Knight's Templar type order. Yes I realize that the Radiant are not Jedi just Jedi like. It was really what I meant. As far as anyone doing it first, as the wheel continues to turn there is rarely a first, just different version of the same idea of G vs E. Shrug. WoT 1990 SW a new Hope 1977 I'm sure there is something in Tolkien or Brooks maybe with the concept roughly in place. I mentioned the Knights Templar above. Real life. Patrolled roads to protect the innocent. in the 1200/1300's, Knights of the round table, though in earnest the true Arthurian legends were parodies making fun of the English lords. Still the idea was there before Jedi 100's and 100's of years before.
  5. Tris is the main char is the movie Divergent: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1840309/ (she chose this name it was a short version of her origional name) Triss is a character in the game Witcher: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Triss_Merigold The post was about the movie Divergent. Merigold is the witcher charater's last name. As to all of Dauntless being clones: Not so much. It is more a similarity of personality. The society in Divergent place like with like. The OP as not returned but I think they mainly are referring to the fearless nature of the Dauntless cast, the fact that they are warriors and all the jumping.
  6. Cool I joined just after the attack I think. And despite being a troll, i'm not.
  7. Do chalklings interact with just the 2d chalk line of a line of forbiddance, or does the 3d force field generated by it also block chalklings? If a line of forbiddance was drawn on the ceiling such that the force field touched the floor, could chalklings cross that floor? This question opens a different question. The Chalkling is 2D. They attack the Chalk line making a hole. There is a point made of making lines on the walls to keep the Chalklings from going around the lines using wall. So the real question is, ? In a room or hall why do the chalklings not use the roof. The answer seems obvious to me. If a line is drawn along the floor the 3d wall generated would not be in the wall but only up to it. However the wall of force must extend beyond the ceiling and prevent chalklings from crossing. so if you drew a line on the roof the chalking would most likely have to go to the roof to eat away the line, or the system is completely flawed.
  8. I'm not even sure which time Kaladin gave away his shards the poster is mad about. The first happens before you have any real grasp of what shards are. The second is so fast after the opportunity arises that knowing it is coming is not really an issue.
  9. It just hit me that the Radiant are just Jedi. Evidence.\ 1. Swords that spring form nothing and glow. 2. Power a. Illusion (see Obi Wan in episode 4) b. Defy gravity (jedi skill is force leap/fall) c. Healing (jedi healing is not as good but it's in the lore) 3. I can't think of them all at the moment but the bottom line is radiant's are very Jedi like. And with Lucas adding in the Medaclorians(sp). Even more so.
  10. First of all I like this book a lot. Things that didnt work for me though: The title indicates that "The Rithmatist" is going to be a main character. This, at least when the story ends, is not the case. Nalizar's actions. 1. Why reveal your patsy before you make your big move at the end of the book. How was he going to explain all the missing children. I guess the inspector was always going to take the fall, but kind of silly to give up that resource when you could just put it off on Exton. 2. Why did save joel at all. Let joel get captured or killed and you win. He just randomly ruins his own plot. No teenage angst. I don't really miss it, but you have two 16 year old people. Come on you know all they'd be thinking would would "she/he is into, not into me... This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules" I can forgive this one though for the sake of the 100 unneeded pages. The deaths. Why did they leave bodies at the second crime scene? They captured all of the soldiers at the last fight except for 2. Why did they leave those two, I'm thinking they were even left alive, on the steps, in view for the world to see. I'd love for this story to continue, but even more I want more of the Stormlight Archive. LOL
  11. I disagree with this. This book happens in an alternate universe to the world as we know it. The church revolves not around a savior but "The Master" who would be God. It is connected in some way to Clockwork. The Church is only similar to the Church of England in name.
  12. Ya I was thinking the coin as well. Not many 8 year old are going to have a large amount of money in their pocket. If the story continues it may not come out to be that simple but the explanation works. I'm assuming the while chalking is much the same as the forgotten entering their host and making changes, granting power and as the Scribbler didn't care for the coin, so the white version of it probably would have a similar reaction. This is not necessarily how it works. Mistborn - powers derive from the body metabolizing metals. I'd go through the list by book but someone might come across this that hasn't read all the ones i have and mistborn's metal system is not a spoiler. There is not real evidence that Nalizar is dead and not just Blazed by a more powerful spirit. Joel says he is dead, guessing, but Nalizar doesn't really confirm it, and even if he is dead possibly possession by whatever he is is death in itself. In the end though I don't think that is something that was decided as there are a few holes in the ways the bad guys acted.
  13. LOL. I hope the admin comes by more than once a week.
  14. I was lead to believe there would be pie; Possibly something in an apple cinnamon. Anyway, I'm a 42 year old Corrections Officer from Florida. I read quite a bit. I've read most of what Sanderson has written. Next up is Elatris, and I just finished the Rithmatist. It took me a while to get though the five Jordan books between "The Dragon Reborn" and the 3 he wrote. Anyway my favorite writers/Book by are: Brandon Sanderson - Way of Kings Jim Butcher - Changes (but any of the dresden stuff is pretty good to me) Brent weeks - Black Prism David Gemmell - (all his books, his typewriter has been silenced **cry**) Pattrick Rothfuss - Name of Wind (amazing writer with 2 book to his name next should be out by 2080) Laurell K Hamilton - Anita Blake books (Until they go porn around book 10) I'm sure there are ten other writers I thought where the best when I read them, Brooks, Goodkind, Edding, Feist, Tolkein, Savlator, o.s. Card, ... Anyway i'll end this long winded hello and thanks if you got this far.
