  1. I'm one of two Buddhists? lol. xD
  2. Well hello everyone. I don't know who's all still around that would remember me, but I've been around for ... well a LONG time. xD Also, on this page. You can change the Miyabi defense. It's not a theory. It's definitely named after me.
  3. I'm more interested in the concept of a Spren and their Nahel Bonded human hating each other, but continuing on due to the ideals. The likelihood of this happening I feel is very low considering the two would have to share a core set of ideals in order to be Bonded. Generally people who share the same beliefs get a long. Though I could imagine that, while wanting the same things, the way they want to go about them could be different which could cause tension between them, but when it came down to it, they helped each other in order to achieve the larger goal. This would be a very interesting relationship to see explored by a character, even if it was just an interlude character or someone we only saw once or twice.
  4. I like this. It's not something I have personally considered, but will have to when I reread WoR the next time.
  5. I can see what you're saying, but I think once he gets there his need for revenge will abate as he reasons through whether killing people is a good idea or not. I feel like he will become similar to a "nuclear deterrent." He'll show how grossly powerful he is and kill a bunch of people and then be used a pacing mechanism to say, "You better not, or else."
  6. Not necessarily. I forget exactly where I would find a WoB on the issue, but he has said in the past that the Hoid we see may be more than one person.

  8. YAY!!! =D What do you guys think?
  9. Oh, I'm exceptionally excited to hear the dialogue between Szeth and Nightblood. Previously Nightblood has had little to no real conceptualization as to what good and evil are and makes arbitrary decision based on the ideals of his previous wielders. I imagine the two will have a number of conversations that go like this: "No, Nightblood, that's evil." "Why?" "Because reasons you wouldn't understand." "BUT WHYYYYYYYYY!?" haha. Odium ... Hmm. I guess his and Honor's thoughts on Nightblood would depend on whose side he's on.
  10. Well let's dabble around and make a few things and see if we can start something. What are people's email address. I'll invite everyone to a Google Doc who wants to participate and we can just see where it goes, or if it dies out after a while.
  11. 16 is important because that is the amount of pieces that Adonalsium shattered into and is a fundamental piece of the Cosmere. The 10, if I had to guess, would be because it is something which was chosen by Honor. He gave 10 people his power, he made them create 10 orders. The magic itself isn't based on 10, just the culture and the number of orders. I'd be willing to bet if you broke down the magic system mathematically it's based on 16 in some way or another. Something like a chit stores 16 units of STormlight and a Mark stores 156, etc. The different magic systems is a thing that can be affected by a lot of things. The Shard's intent, its strength, etc.
  12. It would be something that would require a number of people working in tandem to keep updated and working properly.

  15. I could see something organized in that fashion. Like one document would be an introduction; one about Hoid; one about Adonalsium; one about Physical/Spiritual/Mental; etc.
  16. Oh, that's a good idea. Especially considering the way Dogs allows you to highlight things and add annotations, that could be used to providing reference points.
  17. I would imagine that the originally Awakening still needed to be done using Breaths. Investiture is really tricky, to use it as a catalyst to make another magic work is something I think would be really difficult, but simply fueling an already existing creation I think is more plausible.
  18. That is true, though considering who his new associates are I assume it won't be long before he's bound to a Spren.
  19. Thank you! ^.^ Yeah, I've been gone for ages. A-ha! I'm glad there's already WoB on the matter. Considering we have Marsh teaching people about Hemalurgy, I feel that before we reach the end of SA we will see it used at least once or twice on Roshar. Especially considering how closely related these things are timewise.

  21. I've moved to Boise recently. I really like it here, and I like my new job. So things are good.
  22. The biggest problem I find with this is the durability of some of the metals. Sure, some of this would work, though it wouldn't be nearly as effective as traditional methods for reasons sited by Zaci. Gold for instance, would probably not work, because it's entirely too soft. The amount of precision/luck that would be required in order to effectively and accurately attribute a Hemalurgic attribute to someone feels more like it would be a waste than it's worth. Unless your primary goal was simply to create a hole in someone's soul in order to help a Shard gain influence over them.
  23. I went back a few pages and didn't see this exact discussion and I don't want to necro an old thread, so let's start a new discussion. So, Szeth now has Nightblood, which terrifies me by the way. In Warbreaker we didn't see Nightblood do anything too extraordinary, but I feel this is primarily because he requires sunlight and air... I mean Investiture to be wielded. Szeth has access to massive amounts of Stormlight he could feed Nightblood while he wields it. I'm terrified to see the things this sword will be able to do. There is however the fact that Szeth has died and now is released from his previous state of being. He doesn't want to kill. So this could potentially be a good thing. He could possibly use Nightblood and its power as a means to stop people he feels will cause a lot of killing. Now let's talk about Hoid's sword. He never draws the blade, and it is often described in similar ways as Nightblood is. This in the past had lead me to believe that it was Nightblood. I feel however that it is probably another awakened blade that will come into play once Hoid realized Nightblood is around causing trouble. These swords were created by a system that has a very measured source of Investiture and required a huge amount of it. They are now in a place that has a nearly limitless source which can feed them nearly indefinitely. This feels potentially broken and could cause more trouble than any other weapon we have seen previously used in the Cosmere.
  24. By this line of logic EUOL provides could that mean it's possible for Hemalurgy to be used to create 'hotwires' for any type of spiritual connection within the Cosmere, provided the person performing the Hemalurgy knows where to use the spike to gain the proper connection to the spiritual realm?
