  1. Have you guys spoken at all about Old Magic and whether or not it relates to the Purelake? And also the magic Horneaters have separate to everyone else (the ability to see spren when they don’t want to be seen is well known enough to specifically have a name, for instance) I figured both were things that Cultivation has going on. I’m new to the podcast, and I’m listening to the backlog, so sorry if I’ve missed something
  2. I'm sure the books mention red and blue shift inside bubbles at some point? I think the most useful ability technology wise would be a brass compounder- infinite heat means infinite power.
  3. Normalcy: you gain power by being ordinary, and lose power the more powerful you are.
  4. Name: Sapien Powers: Whatever it is, I'm the best in the room (for outside lets assume 50m). The smartest, the hottest, the fightiest. I can also gift this ability, but it can only work while they're in the same room as me, and they'll be the second best or third best, depending on the number of people I gift. This doesn't work on epic abilities, and things like attractiveness would be perceptive only, with no actual physical change. I can't use it to gain specific knowledge, so I can't be "the most biology-knowingest", but I can be the guy with the highest IQ or spatial awareness. My secondary power is the ability to affect sensation while touching a person - I can make them feel on fire, or like there are bugs on them, but they won't see or hear those things, only feel them. Weakness: Other Epics. Being near something I can't be the best at turns off my powers as long as they're in my range Brand of Evil: Subtle manipulation. I like joining a group of friends and using my gifting to play them off each other with jealousy. Outfit: Civvies, because my powers aren't suited to making myself known in any way.
  5. It may be because he's large, but not for intimidation, but just because there's more room for spikes. And it's easier for a sociopath to win a fight if everyone else still feels bad about punching him.
  6. The only time Wax makes an actually ridiculous shot as opposed to an awesome one, he is wearing the earring and was begging for a bit of help just before, so it's possible that's the only help he got from Harmony. The rest of the time can just be put down to natural ability and 20 years experience. Also, what would the downsides even be for steel savant? Small metallic objects move away from him?
  7. I think they started calling him Tyrant in alloy of law, because of cultural erosion and stuff.
  8. Game rules break book canon to stop overpoweredness, don't think of it as canon.
  9. Ferumechanics seems the best option here, from my point of view. Combining what I think are theories but may be canon (The Idea that a Keeper filling a identity Metalmind to the pint where they have zero identity would create an "open" Metalmind of whatever else they where filling) with fact that using the power stored can be reflexive (couldn't quote you on that, but I think I'm right) would indicate that a Metalmind storing weight could be affected by an electrical current in such a way as to increase an inert objects weight. I can't think of a use for this besides elevators working of pulley systems, but I'm sure they're are far more inventive ways to use that power. I doubt the South Scadrians would have electricity to begin with, but following the divine intervention=knock-off equivalents rule, and the time it took to get electricity post-harmony, they'd probably figure out electricity fairly quickly. Mist condensation could play a role in the metals idea, and it would explain why no one in North Scadrial had noticed. (I haven't read all of the Sanderson books due to a matter of funds, so I don't really understand the comparison).
