  1. Ok so Lift may be my new favorite character. So much spunk and just plain badass! Hopefully we will hear about her and potentially the Reshi Isles more in the next book. I think what I am most curious about is why she has been given special treatment, being able to collect stormlight from food and have physical contact with Wyndle (her spren). Also that jerk Darkness, really anxious to find out whats up with him. Any thoughts?
  2. Maybe he wears the glasses because he "sees" too much? and has the "fits" because the reality of what he sees is too much for him. Maybe his eye sight was never bad, and he just wanted to blur the world? Like how the shardblades scream, but he is more sensitive to it all. When he was in the arena crying in the sand holding the shardblade. It could be that his abliities allow him to see and be aware of more than he can handle. Seeing all of the Truth in the world? I dont know,....does that sound stupid?
  3. yes I agree, very nice responce. He is going to certainly be a fearsome thing to behold.
  4. Ok so I have had the mistake of accidentally reading BAD fantasy in the past, but my favorite books are always fantasy. I need a fix to wait until the next in the Stormlight seris. Ive read most of the books by those I have tagged. Any suggestions?
  5. My personal opinion is that the people who think that Shallan is a poorly written with no wit have no business reading this book. Shallan is a deeply troubled and complex character. If you want to truely understand and apreciate a character you really must pay attention to what you are reading. Skimming this book (as many do with large books with big words) gives you no understanding of its contents. Wise cracks and lies is all that she had to sunstain her and keep her from falling into madness. She is an extremely brave, intelligent, and endearing character. One of the best character developements I have ever read. She didn't whine HALF as much as Kaladin, she buckled down no matter what her issues and did what she could, and triumphed!
  6. Agreed. I wasn't all that shocked at him coming back, in the very begining of The Way of Kings, the radiants kept mentioning about the mulitple times they had died only to come back fight and die again. That eternal hell being the reason they abandoned the world. It would be cool if Szeth could be redeemed, but considering things I doubt it. Shoud be interesting, though most of the book being about him "rediscovering his purpose" sounds a little annoying.
  7. So Szeth....I must say I both greatly LOVE and DISLIKE him....he is just so...he is a pushover. No gumpshun. That being said I cannot wait to see his character developement as he (hopefully) develops some personality. He is a complex character i know, the Great Sanderson would give us nothing less. Though I am not sure how much I will enjoy him being the focus of Skybreaker. I have a hard time letting go of having Shallan and Kaladin being the main focus, they have been just so much fun to get to know. I know that they will, ofcourse, still pop up in the next book from time to time. I am just not certain if I will enjoy it as much being mainly focused on Szeth. This being said I greatly trust the Great Sanderson, but I would love to hear input on how others think book three will progress conserning Szeth.
