  1. So I took my first stab at the Alethi script portion of this, and to do what I want with it, I'll need to alter my design slightly it seems. Originally, I was going to put the script inside a two-sided arrow, on the inside of my forearm. At one "tip" of the arrow I was going to have clouds in a clear sky, at the other "tip" I was going to have black storm clouds with red lightning and the script running between the two. Seems I might have to alter this to have just the script in the arrow, with the sky motifs around the arrow as more of a full sleeve design. I thought about placing the three components of the First Ideal one on top of each other, but I believe that will make the arrow too thick... Thoughts?
  2. LOL...hilariously enough, I just looked it up and I was, in fact, born on a Monday...
  3. Something I just thought: I noticed that on the glyphs page there are glyphs created/translated for the various order of Radiants. Seeing as how the first ideal is common to all orders, and the only one to be so, is it possible that the glyphs themselves contain the first ideal in each of them as part of the glyph? (mostly just thinking out loud here)...
  4. cool, thanks. I kinda knew that glyphs weren't the way to go, but I was unclear what else "official" was out there.
  5. Ha, good to know that at least a few others found Brandon a breath of fresh air in that series....
  6. Hello folks, I'm working on a tattoo design for myself, and I wanted to use as authentic as possible glyphs or writing from the Stormlight series to create the first ideal of the Radiants into "words": "Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination." I looked briefly through the wiki pages on glyphs and such, but don't believe it has what I'm looking for. Your help would be appreciated... SG
  7. Solomon Grundy is the avatar, Ian is the real name. Became a fan of Brandon's writing through the Wheel of Time series, which I felt he finished splendidly and, though I'll probably be banished to one of the Nine Hells for this, I felt he was better with the material than the original author... In any event, I'm mostly here to get information on Stormlight glyphs and writing for a tattoo design I'm working on for myself, but if I don't alienate myself too quickly, perhaps I'll stick around and irritate you all for a time...
