  1. If it was me I would be selling an eternal youth kit. People with money and power usually want to have more time to enjoy it. Miles Hundred Lives is the template.
  2. I picked up Way of Kings pt1 at an airport to read on holiday although the author and Mistborn had been recommended to me by a friend previously.
  3. As an emergency for Wax being stuck in midair unable to push onto a building. Invent a coin parachute. Small device of a coin tied to a silk parachute. On pushing the coin, the chute is deployed. Wax can reduce his weight and push against the coin - the air resistance from the chute is enough to allow Wax to get to the building?
  4. After reading the second book I had thought that the new spike had actually come from Bloody Tan. I had assumed being a mortician he had found it in another body and had somehow spiked himself. The voices had driven him mad and also driven him to experiment with hemalurgy. When Paalm recovered/devoured the body of Tan she had been spiked and in turn was also driven mad and experimented with hemalurgy.
  5. I forgot she had no powers but maybe her sister having some was enough to gamble on her having a power that is useless at this time. or She has a very special personality, perhaps it was this and its effect on her spiritweb that made her a target? Perhaps the cracks in her spiritweb make the absorption of powers transferred via hemalurgy easier? I would not be upset if Steris became a mistborn
  6. I may have read this before but. If the captured women were to be given additional alomancy powers via hemalurgy, would this increase the chances of the birth of a mistborn? For instance if the women were given half the power of a full mistborn and their 'mate' the opposite half, would this increase the chances of any children having all of the powers? Perhaps the Set already have a man spiked in this way and the women were chosen because they were strong in one or two of the opposite powers to the man and would need less hemalurgy to get the half set. Perhaps the name Set refers to giving an individual the full 'set' of allomantic powers.
  7. I was watching a program on the BBC last night that discussed string theory - when he was describing the strings like those on a violin and each tone was a particle of some sort and some of those particles could pass between membranes (other dimensions) and move outside the limit of the speed of light. All I was thinking about was BS and his cosmere and the rhythms heard by the Parshendi. It might also explain how FTL travel works in the cosmere, they drop into one of the other 'branes' as the presenter called them. He also suggested there may be 10 of these branes.
  8. Unite them I keep thinking about this phrase and I was wondering if there could be plot twist around the misunderstanding of what is to be united. So I was thinking what are the things that could be united? 1. The Kingdoms 2. The Parshendi and humans 3. The Parshendi and Parshmen 4. The Parshendi and Spren 5. The Knights Radiant 6. The two halves of Mr T 7. The Heralds 8. The parts of Honour 9. The worlds in the same system as Roshar 10. Odium and Cultivation - gain a balance Anymore?
  9. Could Dalinars order of "Unite them" be the reconstruction of honour?
  10. Thanks for replying, I am sort of glad that non one has shot my ideas down in flames.
  11. A friend and I started to create a BS type world for a roleplaying game. I wrote this introduction when I was trying to focus my thoughts into what I thought might be part of the world and how items may become invested. ------------------------------------------------------- Darva looked back in the direction of the lost city many hours walk from their current location near the Bowl's edge. Dark clouds had started to form. He took a piece of paper from his pouch and stared at it. The Predictors had given another six hours before the Darkstorm was due to hit. Darva turned and looked at the slaves converting his sled into a wagon by placing wheels on the two axles. "FIVE, start hitching up the men." Five looked over but did not raise his eyes above Darva's feet. "Master we have not started to fill the wagon with dust yet." "Today we travel without dust." Darva walked away towards another Stormrunner who had stopped nearby. He too was watching the storm. "It comes early Kamac." "Indeed and Ralla is not here yet. I see you are hitching your slaves, I assume you plan to do the home run empty." Darva bowed "I do, I have a bad feeling so I will run for home now. "An empty sled is an empty head." Darva smiled at the reference to the slogans spoken to the children at merchant school. "Perhaps." Darva bowed and returned to his sled, with the twenty four remaining slaves now hitched. It had been a good run, only 6 had been lost although his first four most experienced runners had been cut away injured. The rounded stones created by the Darkstorm were treacherous and easily broke the legs of those who walked upon them. He looked at Five and Five bowed low in an exaggerated nod. Darva took his place on the now wheeled sled. "FORWARD" The slaves leaned into the harness and the sled moved off. Darva glanced over to see that Kamac was also hitching his team. Smart move, something wasn't right. "HAI" Darva looked around and Kamac was waving toward the gathering storm clouds, even this far out you could see they were starting to spin, slowly at first but gathering pace and volume. But that wasn't what Kamac was waving at. Darva knelt up on the sled and took out his looking glass. In the distance he could make out Ralla's sled. Darva felt sick in the pit of his stomach. Ralla was pulling his sled along with 10, no, 11 slaves. He was desperate and with good reason. "FIVE - take us to jog." The sled moved faster. The Darkstorm was forming, lifting dust at the moment but shortly it would grow stronger and start to lift stones as large as a mans head. Nothing could stand in the face of a Darkstorm. Looking through the glass Darva saw a man go down, he was quickly cut free and Ralla's sled was pulled again in the direction of safety. Then the larger stones started to rock in place as the Darkstorm took hold, larger and larger stones were picked up, the grinding sound set your teeth on edge and the scream of the wind sent shivers down your spine. "Five - take us flat out" The sled bumped along as fast as the slaves could run. When Darva turned back Ralla had stopped running and those who were left huddled in the lee of the sled. Then the largest stones lifted into the air and the sled started to splinter apart with their impacts and even the splinters were lifted into the giant twister. Then suddenly Ralla and what was left of his team and wagon were gone, pulled into the grinder that was the Darkstorm and they were gone. The wagon was light and Darva was convinced that they would make the bowls edge before the storm was at its full. The slave team was fit and the fear of being caught gave them speed. Darva once again took out his paper from the Predictors. In eighteen days he would run the gauntlet between Darkstorms again, this time to retrieve the sparks which would now be empowered and could be used to power the enchanted.
  12. What about an agreement from the soldiers on both sides to end the war, a truce. The Parshendi choose to become husks of their former selves and become parshmen forcing out the voidbringers and losing the forms of power meanwhile the KR discard their ideals and their spren losing all of their powers and a close friend. Brokered by the Bondsmiths behind the Heralds backs? The Last Legion stay whole because one of the KR will not give up their spren. Balance is maintained, the Skybreakers hunt down rogue KR and the Parshendi stay low tech living as subsistence farmers. If so it has led to many years of peace?
  13. Hopefully someone has posted something similar and can help with my theories regarding Roshar and the Parshendi. 1. Roshar was dragged from the seabed with flaura and fauna intact to act as a sort of dueling circle on a grand scale. With the gods bringing their champions and cannon fodder from other worlds to fight there. West was the starting point for humans KR and the most earth like environment, the East was for the Parshendi and Voidbringers and is the most aquatic like environment. 2. The Parshendi are either an aquatic or subterranean species. They named their place of origin Darkhome and their skin colouration would work as camouflage on a volcanic world, it was warmer than Roshar, perhaps deep underground heated by colcanic activity. Some Spren appear as crystal formations to begin with, perhaps harking back to their original shapes when they worked with the Parshendi. I was thinking of a race living under the ice on a moon like Titan and then the gods altering things to allow humans to exist and fight. Their singing is like the whales on earth, used for contacting each other over vast distances but they use the cognitive realm to channel these songs. 3. The lines on the map of Roshar are ley lines. I think that travelling will be linked to the nodes on the lines. I created a RPG world years ago along with a friend and we used a similar idea. The number of lines crossing at a point had an influence on the size of the group that could use it for travel. Two lines crossing was OK for a few people but an army would need a node with multiple crossing lines. The shard pools will be a sort of super node allowing travel to other realms. 4. Parshendi always had shardplate. It is created from fabrial based magic and the parshendi are fabrials themselves. They were armed with it when they were known as the last legion. The higher spren copied what they saw and in the same way shardblades are copies of the honor blades they will draw lesser spren to the KR and they will form the KR shardplate. Kaladin almost got his shardplate during the storm when all the windspren surrounded him. If he and Syl had known what to do they could have done it then.
