  1. hmmm... I think my questions were answered.
  2. Hold on a sec: This is something I don't understand - and I think I'll be going back to this part of the book to clarify it - Was Amaram the one who took Taln at the end of the book? And did they went to Urithiru just like the others? And another thing, when Dalinar was asking Amaram to apologize to Kaladin, it was mentioned that he bonded the "madman's" sword. So the Blade that the Stormfather made him discard was Taln's honorblade, right? Then why did he hear screams when he discarded it when Kaladin didn't when he retrieved Jezrien's honorblade from Szeth? Am I missing something?
  3. Well, I think Taln will call evey KR Ishi's knights as I think Ishi is the patron of the Bondsmiths and the Bondsmiths were the ones who sorta govern the Radiants. They unite them, see?
  4. Here's what I think: I don't think honorblades will actually chages the wielder's eye color. Firstly, because it's not a shardblade, I mean, you don't have to bond a spren to aquire surgebinding powers. The honorblade itself bestows that. That's why Taln's eye did not change and if I remember it correctly so does Szeth on the Way of Kings prologue. Let me just double check that... Ok, I can't find the exact quotes, but I'm sure I've read that in the first book. If someone found that quote about Szeth's eyes only changing color when using surgebinding, please let me know About Shallash, I would think her eyes were naturally violet, so even if she wields an honorblade or a shardblade it will not really change her eye color, just like a natural lighteyes won't change eye color when he obtains a shardblade. And also, about the theory that KRs change eye colors according to the gemstones of their order,I don't think this will affect her as she is not a KR, as a matter of fact, I don't think that's the case at all. Imagine Shallan getting a red eyes just because her gemstone is garnet... scary... About Shallan not going "super lighteyes" mode, I would think it's because she's not yet a full Radiant? Maybe this has something to do on your progress as a KR...
  5. I don't think so... Remember the Prologue on the Way of Kings? Kalak sounds whiny on that chapter. Can you really imagine Vasher sounding that whiny?
  6. right... the one that Syl was so interested about the first time they guard the king
  7. but trapping a spren to become a Plate, I don't think is something a Knights Radiant will do. Imagine the reaction of their bonded spren if they start trapping sprens. I'd rather think that their bonded spren expands to include Plates after the Knight Radiant progresses on their Ideals, it's just that their sentience is retained in the Blade, not in the Plate. Like the Blade is the head and the Plate is the body...
  8. Maybe they also gain sentience but only to a limit? But that seems unfair. If I am a spren, what's preventing me in looking for a person to bond properly to gain sentience?
  9. 4. Moelach- This spren, mentioned briefly by Tanavast on page 906 of the hardback version,is apparently responsible for the Death Rattle. When nearby (range unknown) This spren causes dying people to glimpse at something, powered by their life energy, past present or future. Unlike the other spren above, this one is cable of moving about, as it is so unknown by mankind that it is not bound by their perception of it. 5. Nergaoul- This spren, also mentioned by Tanavast, is responsible for the Thrill. It is considered an ancient evil spren that Tanavast does not yet have the resources to tackle. Aka, this thing is too strong for a kingdom that leads one of the most powerful cults in the world. This makes me believe it is an Unmade or Voidspren, a spren of Odium. He, like Moelach, is not bound by man's perception of him, and can move about, as he is so unknown. You mean Taravangian, right? Anyway, about Dalinar bonding the Stormfather? does that mean he's a lot powerful than the other Knights Radiant?
  10. Nah! I would think he'll go for stealth when he reach the cities. Don't forget that the Lost Radiants have very bad reputation, not to mention the powers wielded by the Assasin in Witeis widely known. If they see Kaladin doing the same, they might associate him with the person who killed thier king. He'll be more cautious in showing his powers. I have a strong feeling he'll disguise himself as a darkeyes, not only to be careful but also because he's still in denial that he is already one of those lighteyes he despise... ... or he would go walking around Alethkar and be surprise that people will make way for him in the crowd now that he's lighteyes.
  11. To be a Knight Radiant and gain a Shardblade, you need to bond a spren. To gain a Shardplate, does that mean you need to bond another spren again, or your single spren will just expand to include a Shardplate? Seems to me that a Shardblade and a Shardplate is independent from each other. Say for example the modern Shardbearers who are using the Blades and Plates discarded by the Lost Radiants: It's not necessary that you're a Full Shardbearer. Some has only the Blade others only the Plate. I've read in the thread, Words of Brandon (compiled) that multiple spren bonding is possible. If a Knights Radiant bond different sprens, for example an honorspren and a cryptic, does that mean he's both a Windrunner and a Lightweaver or he'll just have to choose one order? If it's the latter option, I think a lot of politics will come at play. The orders will convince the Surgebinder to join their order... Any thoughts on this?
  12. I have more questions regarding this: To be a Knight Radiant and gain a Shardblade, you need to bond a spren. 13. Isn't Kaladin traveling back to Alethkar on the third book? He'll be needing a large amount of stormlight to fuel his Lashings going there. The gemheart might be awarded to him since it was him and Shallan who took it from the chasmfiend. He was told by Dalinar to approach Elokhar to loan him emerald broams, Elokhar being grateful of Kaladin saving him form the assasins will give him a whole emerald instead.
  14. What I understand after reading the book, Stormfather was a Sliver of Honor... The Almighty's spren or something
  15. I've posted this in another topic but I'll post it here again because I think this is a more appropriate thread: I think I'd agree about his shard reawakening and bond to him... About the speculations about him going bad, I don't think so. Sure, he killed Sadeas but lets face it, all the Knights Radiant that we saw so far has dark secrets and troubled past. They all had killed somebody and they think what they did were the right thing. Kaladin killed Helaran for killing his friends. Shallan killed her mother because she attempted to kill her and she killed her father because he's destroying their family. Dalinar killed a lot of people to unite Alethkar under Gavilar. Jasnah killed those three criminals because she thinks what she did was right or just or whatever... and we accept them. Why cant we accept Adolin killing a certified scum like Sadeas because Sadeas is trying to destroy his father? About him becoming Odium's Champion, ok, that's possible... as possible as any character in the book becoming Odium's Champion. But really, I doubt it. After the things revealed during Taravangian's chapter that the Death Rattles and Thrill were manifestations of "gods" associated with Odium, I conclude that Adolin won't go bad. before his duel with Eshonai, the Thrill already left him and even during the duel the Thrill never returned. Also, I remembered one of Dalinar's vision of Nohadon saying, "Alas, not all spren are as discerning as honorspren.” So, killing Sadeas might be disturbing but that doesn't disqualify him from bonding a spren... Now about his jealosy with the people around him, I think that's the deciding factor on weather he'll go bad or not. All of the Knights Radiant have struggles to overcome before they develop their abilities. Shallan needs to face the truth from her past she kept on avoiding. Kaladin needs to accept the fact that he needs to protect even those whom he hates. Maybe, Adolin needs to accept that he can't have everything he wants and stop being a spoiled brat.
