  1. “But the Teleri were unmoved by ought that he could say. They were grieved indeed at the going of their kinsfolk and long friends, but would rather dissuade them than aid them; and no ship would they lend, nor help in the building, against the will of the Valar. As for themselves, they desired now no other home but the strands of Eldamar, and no other lord than Olwe, prince of Alqualonde. And he had never lent ear to Morgoth, nor welcomed him to his land, and he trusted still that Ulmo and the other great among the Valar would redress the hurts of Morgoth, and that the night would pass yet to a new dawn.” - J.R.R. 2. Well, I just love school! I had a pop-test on my third day of school in my literature class. It was six different three paragraph essays on symbolism, author's intent, foreshadowing ect. based on our summer work. So that was rough. I think it's going to be a difficult interesting year!

  3. I am creating this for the audio listeners. I listen to the books as I am dyslexic and get head aches when I read to much. I was relistening to RoW and I noticed that there are lot of audio cues. I know that Brandon Sanderson controls the audio books to some extent, but mostly lets them do their work. However, mabye this was something he wanted to add. I am too stupid to notice them all, but the strangest one I noticed was that Ash talked in a rhythm similar to how the singers/listeners talk. Also, an odd thing is that Taln always says the same thing in the same rhythm; on a less important, but similar point, what if the rhythm that Taln says it is important in a realmatic sense. How did he last so long, he was speaking a rhythm of that "encourages" stormlight. I don't think he was singing a song for "repulsion" of void light as this is advance, but it would not surprise me if there was a song similar to the song that the singers sing for stormlight. This is the main theory that I think is true. 1st Tin foil hat Theory: The heralds are going insane because their cognitive shadows are being corrupted with void light. So the heralds are cognitive shadows made from stormlight. There identity frozen in that moment and tied with enough power to keep there souls alive. What if as a part of their torture, Odum started to try to corrupt them with Void light. They are made of investiture and can be captured like spren. It would only make sense that they could be corrupted as well. However, they have a very strong identity which resists corruption as we have seen via light weavers. They started to be corrupted, and they are singing honors song to try to resist it. Second tin foil hat theory: why are they sane around oaths I don't quite know why they get lucid when radiant make oaths around them. Maybe it is the connection to honor/stormfather pushing their split investiture towards stormlight. In that moment, they connect to the stormfather/honor, and get their sanity? This part of it is definitely tin foil hat, but I don't really have any ideas.

  10. Hello all! With the new SA5 update on reddit we know that at least one of the death rattles will be taking place with Kaladin and Szeth in Shinovar. Does anyone have and guesses on which death rattle(s) they think it will be? I have some ideas but obviously they are pure speculation. I don't have time to put in all of my thoughts at this moment but I think some relating to reigns and maybe Black Fisher may come up. What are some of ya'lls thoughts/hopes for it?

  12. Thank you! And yes! Yay! Kaladin and Szeth are Windrunners, right? (If there's a spoiler in the answer, don't tell me.) Which symbol is Shallan and Jasnah's? I'm assuming that's what Shallan saw in chapter 1? SA2, ch1, Shallan: Why did that symbol appear on her drawing and again on the water? Why did it move on her drawing?? I'm very happy Jasnah is explaining about Shadesmar, although I wish her explanations were more practical and less scholarly, lol. I also wish she would give more answers to stuff I want to know, like why the symbol appeared to Shallan, and does Jasnah know anything about the symbolheads and who were those black creatures from the prologue who took Jasnah there? I'm glad Shallan ended up insisting to get in the water in the end, and got a chance to take a Memory of the santhid. I was right!! Chapter 2 is called Bridge Four and I'm VERY excited for it!

  13. I think this is just because cognitive shadows over time get their souls run thin and go insane the same has happened to the Fused. Here is a WoB that corroborates this somewhat I this is close. My guess is that the Radiant's connection to the Honor is increased when they swear an oath and it ties any Heralds nearby to Honor as well and briefly restores their mind.

  15. “Finrod was with Turgon, his friend; but Galadriel, the only woman of the Noldor to stand that day tall and valiant among the commanding princes, was eager to be gone. No oaths she swore, but the words of Feanor concerning Middle-earth had kindled in her heart, for she yearned to see the wide unguarded lands and to rule there a realm at her own will.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion, “Of the Flight of the Noldor” Ere Manwe was aware, the peace of Valinor was poisoned. The Noldor began to murmur against him, questioning why he had set Melkor to roam free. A smaller number still sued for his clemency, and even the Valar began to speak out. At the festival Nienna proclaimed the imprisonment of the greatest of the Ainur a failure, reasoning with surprising fervour that his time in the fastness of Mandos had served only to further the corruption of his mind. Tulkas spoke mildly against her, but being overruled by the other voices, he held his words and his fists until such a time as the Enemy should reveal himself more openly. Then Feanor, moved by the spirit within him, stirred the Noldor with passionate speech, invoking the destruction of the lamps and the past misdeeds of their old foe. ‘Why indeed, O Noldoli,’ he cried, ‘should we suffer that Melkor, who has ever given us naught but betrayal and sorrow, roam free about these lands, guised in fair-seeming speech? Is it not for his sake that my father cannot join the great feasts of our people, that he watches with sleepless eye over our fastness at Formenos where our greatest works and treasures lie hidden; that our people are stirred to bitter words and self-ruin? Should we not seek him out and put an end to him? Yet the Valar would have us remain in their girdle, while he roams free.’ Thus spoke Feanor in the presence of all, and his indomitable will, fearing not the wrath of Vala or Noldor or creature foul or fair, was such that the Noldor were put to shame, and stirred in their hearts to the commitment of the end of Melkor’s reign. Yet in his words Feanor could find naught but zeal to unite them; and so it was that soon the debate of the Elves turned to factions and dissension. Mandos and Varda looked on, silent, as each brought forward one whom they found suspicious, and ultimately Galadriel of the house of Finarfin was chosen. Desire she had to see the broader lands of Middle-earth, much as Feanor did, yet unlike her cousin she had not yet the words to drive her fellow princes to reason and action. So Mandos took her to himself; and in the depths of the Mountain she dwelt, till the Enemy came forth openly once more. The Wandering Wizard (Galadriel) was Faithful! 17. So I'll be posting the story proper on Spacebattles, to hopefully introduce more people to the Cosmere, but I'll be posting the outline I have for it here for people to give feedback on. The title of my story is Cosmeric Tales: Mist and Ash It will be a Self-Insert-Original-Character, which means it'll be about an OC from 'The Real World', I'll work on this as I'm reading through the Stormlight Archives. But I probably won't actually post it until after The Lost Metal comes out. There are 4 parts to this story: The Pre-canon, The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages The story will follow Adrien (The OC) and his Lightspren partner, Shiner as they venture into Scadrial and try not to mess everything up. Adrien will be a Willshaper and will be able to fuel his Surgebinding from breathing in the Mists, which he will also dub 'Mistlight'. During the event of the story Adrien will be attempting to helpin what ways he can by evacuating Skaa into the Cognitive Realm and sending them elsehwhere by bribing Krhiss and Nazh with Atium, Adrien will also try to save more of the Terris people from the Steel Inquisitor's attack, being ganged up on by several of them. He will also reveal a few secrets of the Metallic Arts to the Crew such as Unkeyed Metalminds. His interference will also save Tinwyl's life. He will also go halfsies with a bead of Lerasium with Hoid, so he will be a powerful Allomancer. However not everything will be perfect such as the Crew coming to distrust him due to him constantly keeping important secrets from them, which he can't tell them due to Adrien being afraid throughout the entire story of Ruin listening, which also means that Adrien won't be taking too overt actions to change the plot due to fear of having Ruin win by butterfly effect. This will come to a head when during the Well of Ascension Vin confronts Adrien about if he let Kelsier die, which he will feel as though he did and his relations with the crew will be put through hell. Plus Ruin will be trying to turn him into his 'Knight of Decay' and going sofar as to infuse some of the ash and make it become 'Ashlight' which Ruin will use to try to gain influence over Adrien. Also during the Well of Ascension Sazed will die, leaving Adrien feeling hate for himself as he knows that Sazed would be the key to saving the world and losing a dear friend, with him knowing that it was ultimately his fault due to him interfereing. He will also nearly break his oaths and kill Shiner. At the end of Hero of Ages both Vin and Ruin are dead but there would be no one capable of taking both the powers, which is necessary to save the world and Adrien knows that he wouldn't be able to take them both up, not as he is. But he comes up with an absolutely insane plan that he has no idea would work. He has a bag of Atium that he was saving, he also has Duralumin. He can draw Mistlight and Ashlight from both of the Vessel-less Shards. And he is aware of Surges having Spiritual applications. So he goes all in, he breathes in as much Investiture from the Shards as he can, his body almost vaporizing from the amount and he burn Duralumin and Atium together, peering into the Spiritual Realm, which will let him see what he will need to do. The he'll focus the massive amount of Light to use the Surge of Cohesion to Mold his own Spiritweb, his own Identity and Connections into being a better vessel for both of the Shards, the process will be similar to Forgery. It will work, sort of, and he will Ascend with both Preservation and Ruin, along with burning Sazed's Copperminds, which were turned Unkeyed by Sazed before his death so that his knowledge wouldn't die with him. Adrien had the knowledge and power to save the world. But something isn't quite right, he holds the powers but he can't bring them into Harmony, instead as he tries to fix the world the powers become Discord, paritally Splintering and almost killing Adrien, and while he does fix the world it isn't perfect as both the Southern and Northern continents crack into many islands and he loses control of a new Godmetal, Discordium, which will evaporate at room temperature into a toxic mist that will kill most people who breathe it in. It grows quite commonly in random locations around Scadrial making a new ecological threat. And Adrien, now Discord can feel the gaze of other Shards. But the world was saved, Spook became the Lord Mistborn and life, while not as easy as it would have been in canon, still thrives. And slowly, a new power forms on Scadrial, a fourth Metallic Art. And all the while Discord makes preparations to look for someone to become Harmony. I have a lot more planned, like the actual details and such, but it's late and I'm tired of typing so much. So what do you think?

  18. @Matrim's Dice I'm happy to be voted on for that Genuinely think Finwe is just there to kill soak and die. Most of my votes this cycle were essentially meant to elicit more info, not necessarily to kill, but this would take us far afield again. Long story short there are some reasons I can't go into in thread and will probably bring with me to my grave, but I will also say I know of a solo Son of Feanor (on the Conq issue), so there's an incompatibility there, and that's what I mean by oddity. JNV's second Son claim also makes sense, and jives with JNV's attitude I do feel that C1 Devo was more aggressive than typical Evil Devo - I think trying to push a significant train with a case as opinionated as Devo's case on Archer was is not really a good thing for Melkor because it is attention-grabbing, especially if done at the last minute. One could fairly argue that Archer was unlikely to be in serious danger late last cycle when Devo pushed that train so late, so IDK. That, actively PMing (apparently inclusive of Archer) and requesting shields and thus seemingly trying to set herself up as a point of contact, don't seem to be the sort of attention an Elim seeks. The item limit is not great for Melkor, and Melkor would likely prefer Helms. Her reasoning for asking for shields is okay, if a bit flaky (only Feanor or Smiths can make Shields, true), but at the same time, how is it really supposed to ID a Smith/Feanor short of them willingly claiming to you, why should they do so, and if they realistically might not, why is this Village? So I leaned Village but also ??? What's making me rethink is actually C2 Devo, who is now returning to being a more measured/cautious commenter, and I'm curious about what's motivating that change in playstyle. Edited to add: Posting this because if I get NKed, I want to have done this meme first: Edited to add 2: @Archer Why is a Devo vote a bad idea? If you have a good reason, I'm happy to be persuaded off, though Eru knows who the hell I'll go to...

I don’t know if this will change anything or make you more suspicious of me, but I wasn’t converted. That means either no one was converted or someone else was. You all might not trust me on this, but... right now as I’m willing to craft items for people I’m more useful alive then dead. @Conquestor After I make danex the shield, I’ll see if I can make you a Fell Sword. Giving danex a shield should prove that i’m Feanor. And as for what I’m going to do with the sword... I honestly don’t know, but having a weapon can help me actually do something other than wandering around giving other people stuff. And in the end you can’t trust anyone but yourself in these games, so... I’m going to arm myself first before other people.

  23. Quick mini sort of catchup post before I do some school for y'all, with a reads list. (Future Mat: It wasn't mini :|) @Kasimir-- your initial self vote was because you wanted to confirm Conq's claim to be a Son of Feanor, or something else? If your implied claim is true that saves me the trouble of trying to solve you so this is more just to pique my curiosity and clear things up. I do think TUN saying that it'd be not allowed for him to send you a PM could be him misunderstanding the Finwe rules (though it certainly doesn't look like that from his rule analysis) but just to be clear: @The Unknown Novel, why did you say it wouldn't be allowed for you to send Kas a PM? It makes sense why Kas voted TUN there but the unvote doesn't make sense from me trying to be in Kas' PoV and I feel like I'm missing a piece of the puzzle here. @dannnnnnex I don't know if Bookworm is the best immediate kill since there's a rather large IKYK to whether they were converted or not, and theoretically Melkor can make stuff anyway and can't use a Fell Sword so Feanor wouldn't be a super useful conversion. But as I said, IKYK so maybe that's just what Melkor wants us to think :P. Something I've seen before is a strong village lean on Devotary for playing aggressively (don't remember where that came from) and I don't really agree with that, I feel like most or all of Devo's SK/elim wins that I can think of in recent memory came from more aggressive plays, and I wouldn't have called her play this game particularly aggressive with the exception of the Archer vote last cycle. I've never been able to read Devo, so maybe I'm just wary of people who try, but I'd be careful :P. Archer's village read of them is a lot more compelling to me though. Fwiw I don't think there's any way Bookworm is Melkor. For me they're clear unless they were converted. @Archer 1. I mentioned an e lean on Araris before you did and 2. I never voted for Kas :P. Reads: (Light explanations, I've really got to do school :P) Ratings out of ten, numbers are extremely arbitrary. TUN- In the world of Kas/TUN Finwe thunderdome I'd go with Kas first. I think the points on him are valid but nothing we've never seen before and been wrong about. It does occur to me only now that his Finwe claim was probably a joke but I think that'd be NAI :P. 4.9/10 villageriness and a potential Melkor. Araris- I think my main reasoning for Araris from earlier still stands-- that he used old news as far as reading TUN elim goes and made no effort to solve any further. Busy or no Araris has flown under the radar more than normal and that doesn't sit right with me. 3.9/10 villageriness and a potential Melkor. Shining- In PMs and thread feels the same as last game, but I got the impression from them as a player that they'd be a good elim. I instinctively read his jump on the Archer train as elim, but I was considering following it so that feels like a silly read to make. Plus, is a noble, apparently, so not Melkor, if we believe Melkor can't have a second role. 6.5/10 villageriness. JNV- I don't agree with Kas' JNV read he gave, when he voted there. Asking questions for me is NAI, and JNV hasn't given me a reason to read them either way right now. They did their NAI vote analysis, their wallpost commenting on selective things (normal) and a self pres vote. Probably should PM for a better read. 5/10 villageriness [Null] Possible Melkor. Conq- Nobleness + Save Dan! movement + wallposts in a similar style to his last game = 8/10 villageriness Dannex- Good vibes in PMs + Messenger claim that I can back up both are village indicative but I acknowledge that both of those points are also C1 exclusive. I think that converted!Dannex would certainly try to kill Feanor the way he's doing, and I guess I need to see if I still village read Dannex later today. 7/10 villageriness. Devo- I more disagree with the reasons behind the v!Devo reads than e!read Devo myself, save for Archer's point-- I do agree that it'd probably be not worth Devo's trouble to do all of that, but as I said above I think it's within Devo's elim meta for it to be possible. 6/10 villageriness, potential Melkor. Bookworm- I believe they are Feanor. Whether they're converted is a shrug and a half. shrug/10 villageriness. Archer- Claimed and (I think) proved to be an Orator. I always have trouble reading Archer and am similarly conflicted on his most recent post; the Devo read I liked but the note about PMs I didn't-- I dispute the idea that Melkor is the only one interested in secrets, along with that secrets are the only reason for PMing :P. I'll pay attention to his votes later on, but for now 7/10 villageriness. Kas- I do think this number would be lower if he hadn't heavily softed Finwe-- I think the reasons behind his votes haven't been very good, any of them, but maybe I just still don't understand Kas' vote philosophy even after that long discussion we had that one time :P. But like, if he's Finwe then he's village and only village, so 8.1/10 villageriness I suppose. Technically a potential Melkor. Giving us a tier list that makes itself: Kas, Conq, [Bookworm?] Dannex, Archer Shining, Devo JNV TUN, Araris It ends up kinda just being 'claims' above 'non-claims' which I suppose makes sense but I will say that I think at the current stage, assuming a conversion, I think Dannex is the most likely. I'm closing the tab so I won't reply to anything for the next few hours.

  25. The "Sel" things mentioned above are from Elantris - so that might not make sense until you have read that as well. I'll skip those topics for now. To clarify a bit about what Quantus was saying, the metal used in the metallic arts are not, themselves, invested (with the exception of Godmetals like Atium, Lerasium, etc.). Instead, the metal acts as a "key" to access the investiture; so without the spiritual makeup to use the "key" a Radiant could not get any benefit from "eating a metal." Conversely, it may be possible to use Stormlight as the investiture source to fuel Allomancy - but that would take an unknown process to achieve. WoB: You wll see a similar "Key" principal in the Selish works - Elantris and Emporer's Soul.

  27. I also did my first "read" through with audiobooks, honestly I never noticed what you say. In general I felt there were many liberties Kramer and Reading were taking even from each other, for instance I think Reading was doing a more rhythmic reading than Kramer when doing Parshendi. (Reading's last name is making this sentence a bit awkward ) Matter of fact what I remember was that I felt the characters which were read by both actors ended up being a bit weaker for it in terms of audiobook, cause they felt a bit like different characters depending on who was reading; it was some time back so I can't really quote exact moments. This is it say, I personally wouldn't take the readings are clues for unknown lore. Having said that, what you bring up merges quite well with the whole "currupted attributes" theories about how each Herald ended up acting following a corrupted version of their original defining attributes, and I think it would make sense as a plot point, we are presented in RoW how heralds work similarly to spren for certain things, and we've talked about corrupted spren a whole lot, I can see voidlight curruption being part of their madness, though I don't think it could be part of the torture, as they got "very mad" while they were on Roshar. Another thought on the topic is that in the Cosmere in general beings that go on living to long tend to go insane, so I can see oaths and Connection acting as a shield for them from this issue.

People say age is in the mind, maybe yes maybe no. Last year I celebrated while sitting in a quarantine hotel and being unable to go anywhere. It was a whirlwind of a year. I went through hell and escaped by the skin of my teeth. I dated and had a relationship crumble before my eyes. I have fallen in love with the woman who very likely I will spend the rest of my life with. Time is such an odd thing you know it brings wisdom and perspective, but it also has a way of making one really think about all that people should be thankful for. That being said, thank you for being here for me. Here is to hopefully many more years of wonderful sharding!!! This has been my PSA

This game was a little frustrating for me on a few levels—first, the pure elation at getting thrown in a doc with Kas and Devo (awesome teammates who completely carried btw) was tempered immediately by the realisation that we had pretty much nowhere to hide among talkative players except Mat—and then Mat caught onto Kas C1 and we had to kill him to avoid detection. Even though they didn’t exist, we were also scared to death of the second copies of the scan and roleblock lenses, and it kinda ruined our focus in the elim doc for awhile. Anyway, C2 was underway, and then my infinite time available rapidly contracts to almost nothing as my parents announce we’re making a surprise visit to my relatives coming from Oregon. I have almost no time in the next few days to post—with Kas’ and TGK’s textwalls, I’m barely keeping up with the thread—and then I get my last chunk of time over halfway through, Kas and I do our preplanned staged brawl, which works out okay until I poke TGK with my vote which attracts suspicion. I can’t really put it elsewhere, and then I get voted on from TGK for “distracting the village with meta discussion” (not my intent, I would rather actually be a bear in school in the Montanan wilderness than voluntarily begin a meta debate mid-cycle), Joe for defending Wizard (lol) after he’d done nothing but read me village, and Devo so that we didn’t go down together if she saved me and I died later. Meanwhile I’m watching all of this, but have no time to actually respond to anything, and just die instead. RIP. Not usually the end to my silver tongued play. I definitely deserved to die since I was evil, of course, but it was a little weird getting caught for “the wrong reasons” (even though getting caught for the right reasons would have been much worse for the team ) Anyway, rant over, game was a blast when I was alive, and I was super lucky to play with Kas/Devo/Archer who were good prolific teammates who actually distanced correctly, and carried from there. Thanks to Elan for GMing, and all my PM partners for being fun. Wish I could have done more with Grischuk, but that’s (thug) life. A few parting thoughts: Devo - 5. exd5 JNV - a parting wave, and Kas - since they’re your favourite, a preview of our next PM:

  46. First, since I wanted to take a look at this last cycle and didn’t have time, Kas made a long voting theory post which I actually pretty much completely agree with. I will note two things about it, though: one, that my LG87 “stab vote” on Araris was purposely misconstrued because I wanted an excuse to stay off the main Exe drama and just conveniently distance from a factionmate instead, and two, that my Ash vote was trying to apply pressure in the same way you describe a stab vote. As we saw over halfway through the cycle, the random system of pokes meant that nobody felt that he was under any duress, as four of five votes spread thinly at one each indicated. Doubling up on Ash made the threat of his death real, put someone in the lead to generate actual discussion as to why people were (or were not) voting the way they did (as evidenced by Conq’s reply to my ploy), and moved the Exe forward. After Ash posted two very short posts, I didn’t see a reason to move my vote, or a better target, other than perhaps you which I wasn’t about to pursue with no time left in the cycle and a consensus more or less already forming. Now on to stuff from this cycle. I still need to read it in more depth to figure out what’s going on but these are what jumped at me. Might I remind you that you were the first on Ashbringer? If we’re going to complain about starting pushes, maybe we look there first—I followed you on and stuck to the idea when you had abandoned trying to apply pressure to him. And yes, I was redirecting you to Ash, because he was a target of existing pressure and, to some extent, existing discussion, and none of the reasons to want him dead had really changed at the time. Luckspren was out of the public eye, yes, but I don’t know if your eventual vote on her did much other than spread existing votes out even more. We ended up exeing Ash and sort of getting a group of people on the same page, but it was last-minute as you noted, and I’m not sure the wider focus actually helped the village—we got no clear alternative to Ash, and thus no good wagon discussion towards EoD. Consolidating earlier might have changed that—you had the opportunity, and didn’t take it. I think that’s pretty much what that complaint boils down to. As for being Voidstormed, I doubt this clears either you or the Voidstormer, mostly because (as I doubt someone holding a newly acquired tracker’s lens would say something about it) your claim can’t really be contested (and please, if you have actually taken a lens from Kas, for the love of Edgli don’t claim to make a point >>). Assuming you are telling the truth, a Voidstormer is in an awkward position of being a lens I would see as unlikely as being in Elim hands—as I’ve speculated in a few PMs, I’d think they’d have some more permanent ones—as well as a lens that Team Evil would love to use C1; they gain nothing from sitting on it, and have the chance of stealing repeatable tracking or roleblocking from the village. So I don’t know what to make of the VS. I suppose it could just as easily be said that a villager wouldn’t see a reason not to use one, though. This is a really long way of saying that I find both your claim and your vote odd. Okay, this is a more classic Kas post Barring some absurd gambitry on a Kas/Luckspren elim team, your scan results sound helpful—I’d agree that Luckspren would be more likely to submit a kill as someone low-profile (though, if I am reading Elan’s rules correctly, the Order seems restricted to some/one elim(s), as only the kill is mentioned as being an explicitly faction ability, so not sending in a shatter might not have any bearing on her desire to do so, merely her ability). If there’s an elim on the Ash train, it’s probably Devo—Conq has seemed genuinely village in PMs (though take this with the Shai’tan gut that comes with all people who try to pocket me privately) and seemed to join the train out of actual suspicion/desire for information, whereas Devo…is her usual inscrutable self. At least to me. Which means I kinda don’t want to string her up just on a handful of weak PoE assumptions. If she’s evil, we should just kill her teammates anyway and then I’ll have a fighting chance against her. (Sorry, Devo ) Understand the spending too long thing, it’s a curse sometimes >> I have a question for both Novel and Wizard, though (and anyone who cares to answer): out of last cycle’s non-voters, who is most likely to be evil? I have very mild bad gut on TUN from this cycle but am not sure if it’s lingering LG87 side effects so I’m minded to hold my judgment. His more recent frustration seems to be genuine, which isn’t necessarily AI, but it does make me minded to back off him a bit—there are probably more fruitful targets anyway. Hmmm. As someone whose philosophy is always “vote if able,” conscientious objectors to voting kind of bother me. At the risk of rehashing a very old debate, voting is the lifeblood (death blood?) of the village—it’s a source of information, a mechanism of pressure, a tool of analysis, something that forces commitments and decisions and real stakes. Staying out of it isn’t necessarily evil by default—there are good Village reasons sometimes to not contribute to Exe voting—but Elims stand a lot more to gain from the neutral stance that it provides. Yes, voting might put you under suspicion. That’s how it works. We all get thrown into the suspicion pool and tear at each other until someone is dead, then look at the autopsy. If too many people stay out of that fray, even early on, we get less info to work with. Maybe you’re less bloody, but so are the Elims. So jump in, TGK.

  47. I don’t think kill more like abandon and cut off the dampening of his emotions. So that he suffers. also I think kaladin dying idk I feel he as a bunch of stuff to do with the mental health healing szeth I can see dying honestly his part is kinda over, Dalinar is going to live forever as a shard or a fused. Funny, people kept saying how odium never made another fused for 7,000+ years but he wants Dalinar so much it could make navani Jealous

  48. Say, how do we know Scrooge isn't secretly the one running a network of mercantile trade between worlds? We know it exists and it's the kind of thing he'd do. Also, he'd probably be both amazed at the potential of Soulcasting and aghast at the dangers of upsetting an economy by misusing that power. Last thought, Cosmere Scrooge would need to seriously update his Money Bin's security systems to be able to deal with Investiture-based intrusion attempts. Maybe he could pay Khriss for a consultation on the basic principles or something.
