  1. Mipha crept through the castle halls. At each corner, she peeked around, searching for hidden assassins. Never before had she felt so unsafe in the formidable fortress of Hyrule Castle, but after the events of the evening, she could not shake the feeling of unease. She had been ordered by King Rhoam to return to her guest chambers at once and disguise herself. She wasn’t sure how she would accomplish such a task--being a Zora, she stuck out like a sore fin--but she would do her best. She owed it to her own kingdom to keep herself safe in this trying time. How well could a trained Yiga impersonate one of her fellow champions? Or herself, for that matter? She feared being captured, locked in a dark cupboard and an evil stranger taking her likeness to trick her friends. The thought was horrific. Could they impersonate her so well that Ruta, her Divine Beast, would recognize the imposter as Mipha herself? What a horrible thought, the idea of the Yiga taking control of the Divine Beasts. She would be sure to write letters to the other champions warning them of this possibility. Though unlikely, they could take no chances. The Yiga were cunning, and dangerous, and the threat of the doom of Hyrule hung all too near. Mipha turned another corner, momentarily forgetting to check for Yiga assassins. She paused for a moment. Something felt off, something smelled wrong. Blood. Mipha dashed forward, following the scent of the blood as it wafted into the grand hallway. She could feel the sickly stench around her, coppery, thick, overwhelming her senses. This was Hylian blood, permeating the walls of the castle, tainting them. Poisoning them. There was so much of the stench, how had she not noticed it before? Someone had been slain. Mipha rounded a corner to see a body, limbs spread in awkward, broken angles. She could hardly make out features through the mess of blood and bruises, but they looked like a young woman. Her throat had been slashed, her hair cut in jagged ways, as if she’d tried desperately to free herself from someone who had hold of her. Her eyes stared up at the ceiling, unseeingly, and she had fallen in such a way that it seemed she had reached up to the sky, pleading. Mipha looked up. Decorating the ceiling was the cold stare of the Goddess Hylia, watching as the blood pooled from the young woman’s neck, staining the carpet even redder. Mipha sounded the alarm. Goddesses help them all. LG78: The Legend of Zelda: The False Heroes has begun! GM PMs should all be sent out, so let us know if anything went wrong. If any Postman PMs are opened, make sure to include myself, @Biplet, and @Elandera, our amazing IM. There will be a removal during this Day turn. There is no vote minimum (though no one is removed if no one votes), and tied votes result in a random tied player getting removed. In addition, Beedle's Shop is now open for all players! Each player can submit one item request this turn, and this does not take up their one action per turn. Item requests will be approved or denied in the next Night turn. Player List: Beedle's Shop: This turn will end at 10 am CDT on Thursday, June 24th.

  2. Apologies if this one has been done, I made a typo while writing Oathbringer and thought of something along these lines.

  3. After some consideration, I have decided to take an indefinite leave of absence from the Shard. My reasoning is twofold. First, my summer is getting pretty busy. Currently I am working on a political campaign, running a lawn mowing business, serving on the board of my local civic association, and practicing for a play (plus, summer vacations). Secondly, I would like to purpose to spend a little less time in front of the computer. So - goodbye! Y'all really are great. I'll miss you. I'll probably pop in now and again to say hi, so I guess this isn't goodbye permanently.

  4. I see no new posts in the thread tonight Not a new vote to be seen A whole realm of isolation And it looks like I'm the bard The few longposts I scan then give up, try to hide Couldn't read the rules, Hylia knows I've tried Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the anchor you've always had to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know Let it go, let it go Can't read the rules anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and close that tab I don't care what they're going to say Let the votes rage on The rules never bothered me anyway

  6. Zelda's worth more than an elim since she's one of two people who the elims need to kill compared to the 5-6 people the village needs to kill. Claiming is for if they're guaranteed to be exed otherwise in the hopes of at least using up Kohga's kill. The Knight redirect would not save them from that, and presumably the hearty durian doesn't either. One thing that could happen is a village postman opening a PM with Zelda, which would permit her to scan them and then have the opportunity to get PMs opened between Zelda and anyone else scanned as village. That should be helpful even though the likelihood of an elim postman means that a PM with someone claiming to be Zelda can't be automatically trusted. There's no real reason most of those named roles couldn't be elims. Beedle probably is village since it would take a while for him to be caught even if no villagers ever got any items. Rhoam and Revali are more likely on five person elim teams, the others are plausible with 5 or 6. That would make the game over really quickly if Beedle's an elim, maybe even restart the game quickly, although chances are he's village. Link and Zelda being guaranteed to get any items they request would be helpful, especially if Tireless Frogs let them alignment scan/kill twice in a single night, which I wouldn't think they would but I forgot to ask about. The Yiga being here presented a problem. Or perhaps an opportunity. The Hylians would be more likely to accept her despite an admittedly suspicious lack of background information if they successfully stopped a contingent of Yiga assassins from killing the Princess. Until that happened, those same lack of personal details were making the Hylians distrustful, enough that a Sheikeh had come to interview her personally in what appeared to be a training room. Impa was now number two on their ‘do not cross’ list, rating below Link only because she seemed inclined to give her a chance. After quickly realising that obfuscating would not be helpful, Kele found that they didn’t know plausible answers to simple questions like ‘where are you from’ and ‘what have you been doing all your life’? Her reply that they were an orphan raised by non-Sheikah parents in a small northern town seemed to amuse her interviewer. Lips curled up, Impa asked for a demonstration of her archery abilities. Kele drew an arrow and briefly contemplated turning the bow on Impa, but asides from the fact that this would ensure their death at the hands of the castle guards, Impa’s continued smirk convinced her that she would be the one to kill them if she pursued that course of action. Hands still shaking a little at the prospect of having to fight her, their first shot barely hit the target at a range of less than 25 meters. Embarrassed, she correctly her aim and hit the outside of the bullseye on the second shot. Encouraged by a slight nod, Kele drew back their bow for a third shot too sharply and the string snapped. She winced, less in pain than in the anticipation of what was about to happen to them. To her surprise, Impa merely laughed and pulled a dark metallic bow off the wall and handed it to her. Their eyes widened as they experimentally pulled back on an arrow and found that this new weapon had a much higher draw weight than even her old duplex bow, even if it was only designed to fire one arrow at a time. On a hunch, they aimed at a target 40 meters away, uncomfortably far for the precision assassination work she’d engaged in while wielding a duplex bow. The arrow slammed into the inner ring without significantly slowing. Excitedly, they pulled another arrow and sent it into the exact center of the bullseye. The duplex bow never could have made such a shot, or at least it would have taken hundreds of tries. Grinning openly now, an unfamiliar expression on week old features she was starting to think of as hers, Kele put a third arrow into the boundary between the bullseye and the inner circle. They turned to see Impa nodding in approval. Then she pulled out her own bow and put three arrows into the bullseye within the span of a few seconds, forming a tight triangle around Kele’s perfect shot. They almost dropped her bow in shock, staring at the target and then at Impa, who made another amused smile before saying “If the Princess approves of you, we can see about getting you some extra practice with that bow, little ‘Sheikeh’. My lady could use all the trained archers she can find these days.” Kele followed her out the door still clutching their precious new bow to her chest, too wrapped up in fantasies of shooting people more accurately from further away to pay full attention to the warning note in Impa’s voice.

  8. Hi guys! Just posting here to say that I've left the LDS church. (Right after reaching Relief Society, lol. Guess I'll not be attending.) I'm seeking a better relationship with my Heavenly Father and Mother and finding my own faith and happiness, and increasing the happiness of others - and nearly all of my experience with the church (not God, the church) has been directly counter to that. The bad has, in my own experience, outweighed the good. I don't say this to try and convince any of you to leave too; I'm just explaining how it wasn't right for me, and all the problems and issues built up until I could not accept that this was close to what I believe God wants or what I should be doing. I still very much believe in my Heavenly Parents and in their love. It is the humans and their interpretations, ideas, and policies that I have found to be often incorrect or immoral (in my view of morality) - though I'm not saying I think any of you are bad people. Anyway, I wish you all the best, and I hope none of you start thinking badly of me or judging me for leaving. I hope you can continue to find peace and love!

  10. I'm back? Maybe? Last time I tried to return I made a mistake and tried to get involved in rps again... and then I left for literally three days on a camping trip and when I got back there were about fifty pages of plot I had missed, I got so overwhelmed I ghosted everyone and yeeted myself out of here again xD This time I will not make this mistake! I am hopefully back, I finally have some free time now that summer is out and stuff, and tbh I downright miss you guys! However, I will not be participating in rps for quite some time...

  11. Happy Pride Month everyone! This episode of Shardcast, we get very gay. We're talking about Queerness in the Cosmere, so we're talking about queer representation, examples, how Brandon has evolved over time and is putting in more representation. We also have some critiques and hopes for the future. So if you want to see the cosmere from a queer lens, this episode is for you! This week Jess (LadyLameness) has killed Eric and is hosting the podcast instead, and we have our token straight person, Alyx (Feather), as well as Matt (Comatose), Shannon (Grey), Ala (Rasarr), and Kadie (AonEne)! 12. I have to disagree, unfortunately. Brandon should not be using his precious time to finish a series that’s not Cosmere. I loved Rithmatist, I don’t want a sequel until after Era 4. Skyward is bad enough in taking his time away from LM, we don’t need another. But I see the other point of view on this and I am sure your not alone

  13. Hello! I hope you don't mind but I noticed others responding to other RPGing so I decided to follow suit just to get an RPG introduction in. Also so excited to play this game! Thank you GM's and IM! <3 I'm hyped to meet all the players too!!! The day started as any other, peaceful. The sounds of Hyrule would wake her up in the early morning as people would begin their business, children running around and playing before school, ladies gossiping at the fountain, and hard-at-work merchants setting up shop. Or, that's what Sagessa would normally say, but she'd be a liar. Sagessa had been hard at work preparing a dish of Vegetable Curry for lunch when she had noticed a key ingredient missing, a Swift Carrot. Not wanting to ruin her lunch, she grabbed her rupees and rushed to the market. She didn't expect to be greeted by panicked whispers and restless feet. Apparently, the Yiga were at it again. Deadly, smart, and ambitious (especially when it came to the Mighty Banana), you didn't want to be caught at the end of their blades. However, as she made her way towards the familiar Beedle-shaped backpack of a man in an odd (he would say fashionable... to each their own) bowl-cut hair and nasally voice, the rumors of the shopkeeper being one of them made her pause. Beedle? A Yiga traitor? It was the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard. There was a serious threat going around, though, and it wasn't uncommon to see that paranoia strike so deep as to assume a simple shopkeeper was one of those threats. She headed towards the shop and stood behind another consumer, hoping he wouldn't decide to add a carrot to the purchase, seeing as the other shops seemed tight on stock lately. Dipping my toes into the RPG don't mind me and my awkward-ness lmao. I guess I tried to play off of Gavril bc I don't know where else to hop in, hope you don't mind ^^ I'll probably be discussing the game a lot but gosh darn I'll be doing my best to RP too! To clear the RPG up I'll be attempting a request to purchase 1 Swift Carrot from our boi Beedle. Carrots are good for your eyes.ヽ(o⌣oヾ) Haha thank you This clears it up a lot, actually! Thank you!!! I guess as my first ever game I'm just like "Yes yes, I agree 100% on everything." xD Need to break that habit! Definitely getting into the mindset more as the discussions continue.

  15. Wait, why cant I take a frog again? How would that make me evil? I dont understand, it allows you to take one extra action. *actually uses brain for 5 seconds* Ohhhhhh now I understand. It's not that I dont want a frog, because frogs are great. It's that zelda wants the frog more, cuz zelda is more useful and the elims would like to deny her the frog. I'm also very disappointed that this game has no breakable pots. What an oversight.

  16. "Oh?" These Yiga were certainly bold, if what is said about this Faleast character was true. "We should alert the others of this discovery at once! The sooner we rid this castle of those fiends the better!" Nott turned, gesturing for Navi to follow. "Mark my words, my fluttery friend, those scoundrels will be found within the week, or my name isn't Nott Yigah!"

  17. Seeing Kas post reminded me to sign up for this. I'm tempted to join as Olaf the Showman who like warm bugs, but to avoid having to RP with a Josh Gad voice, I'll instead enlist as a general labourer known as Chalkboard, so called because ever since they were involved in an accident at work, their voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

  18. Hello, another one of Bip's new players here! You can call me Quill. I'll be playing as Conepine, a brown cat with very fluffy ears, tail, and chest, that may or may not resemble pinecones, as well as bright orange eyes. He's... just a pinecone cat. He decided he would have some fun and explore this stone Twolegplace, but it turns out that it is very much not abandoned, so now he's just trying to lowkey lurk through the hallways. At least he found this shiny stink stick. He doesn't like it very much, but he figured he would take it with him on the off chance it ends up being useful. The shiny stink stick may or may not just be a gun. Conepine is having a very, very strange birthday.

  19. The day of Sorrows is most likely the event here. Its interesting because the day of sorrows is mentioned in the vision shown to Dalinar so this is something predicted by basically everyone from honor to odium to taravangium to the death rattles similar to Dalinar becoming Odium's champion.

  21. I try not to make sympathy posts and waste people's time, but things are just so rough right now. I'm in agony. For two months I have had rather annoying nosebleeds. In recent weeks they have gotten worse. It has left me practically an invalid. Anything might be a trigger and so I was and am unable to do much. Cauterization did nothing to help. Meanwhile the less extreme solution worked too little to be truly effective. Today my doctor pulled the trigger on the nuclear option packing my nose. There is 95% that it works. If it does not then more severe measures have to be taken. Meanwhile the pain is debilitating. When it was put in even when anesthetic was used my eyes watered and I started to hyperventilate. Currently I'm miserable, but I just have to bear it. This has been my rant. Thank you for listening!

  22. Excellent Shardcast as always. What I love about Sanderson is that while he does include non Heteronormative characters, he doesn't hit you over the head with them. Everyone seems natural, to the point that an older reader like myself sometimes misses them and has to have them pointed out by my daughter (who is openly Bi and proud of it.) To me that is perfect. It drives home the point that while these characters are non-traditional, they are regular people. To me that is the goal of inclusion: Yes, this is not "traditional," but so what? It's just as natural as the fact that some people have red hair, and some have brown. I can only hope that this style of inclusion keeps becoming more commonplace.

Once they reach a certain threshold, they can get it into the Guinness Book of World Records. And even something as stupid as a ball of belly button lint could be auctioned off if it set a world record.

  26. So, recently the fact that spren are super weird just kind of wiggled into my brain and wouldn't leave until I'd tried to parse it out. So, I devised a couple of theories that might explain why spren only manifest on Roshar, and nowhere else in the Cosmere. Individual Sections will be put in spoiler tags for length purposes, although I'd pretty much say if you've read Era 1 and 2, Elantris, and SA 1-4, you should be fine. If you have any ideas of how to streamline these theories, or any of your own feel free to post them! Really, I just want to talk about spren and figure out why they're weird in the ways that they are. Introduction: What is a Spren?: This brings us back to the question, what is different about spren, and why do they only appear on Roshar (and to a lesser extent Braize)? If they are ‘ideas’ as Pattern claims, then why do they not appear on other sufficiently Invested planets with sapient life to imagine these concepts? At the moment, I have two working theories as to why this is. Theory 1: Shardic choice Theory 2: Spren exist because Realms interact differently on Roshar: I apologize in advance to those of you who are more 'evidence' based theorycrafters. I simply didn't have the time or patience (or ebooks) to look up every WoB or quote referenced. Like I said at the beginning if anyone has other thoughts to streamline either of these ideas, or any ideas of their own about why spren only manifest on Roshar, I would love to hear it!

  30. We’re both looking elsewhere for work. All I know is I don’t want to be in a warehouse, admin work at a school or be in the food industry. I don’t know about what she wants but she’s the type where if she has a week off and nowhere to go she gets cabin fever pretty fast so unemployment is not something she will look forward to. Mine is pretty much at retirement already, she just prefers working over relaxing. Well there’s a saying for what you’re experiencing: The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. People change it to blood is thicker than water and use it to explain why family is important but the saying is actually saying that the family you choose is more important than the family you grew up with. Also there’s always sending her to a senior living center.

  32. I don't enjoy reading Shallan's chapters. When I do, it's usually because of something that happens around her, like worldbuilding and Jasnah in WoK and her interactions with Adolin and Pattern in WoR. Her quips don't do it for me and her personality issues make her PoVs difficult to read in ways I don't experience with other cosmere characters. Still, it's worth recognizing that we're talking opinions here, and other people don't like Dalinar and Kaladin solving problems by "sucking it up and doing things like a manly man." In a series focused on characters going through a journey of self-discovery, different and varying perspectives on that path are a must.

  33. Awesome! That's really cool! I don't know about saying that they're not corresponding to consonant chords; that third wheel at the bottom is a suspended chord (although I have no idea whether purple, orange, and green is a 'consonant' colour combination, seems kinda janky now that I think about it). Perception of consonance and dissonance can be quite subjective however. Obviously there are simple mathematical relationships in harmonics that inform that perception but dissonance is something that people can easily build tolerance to and even desire. As a working musician that went through higher education and has a pretty strong ear, traditionally consonant sounds like major triads, octaves and 5ths are a bit bland. What I tend to desire harmonically these days are extended chords, clusters, and interval structures. To relate this to people with higher Hightenings: yeah they can probably perceive more colour dissonance but they also possibly develop a tolerance for it and like those dissonances. Side note, I think 'tolerance' is probably the wrong word here. Dissonance isn't something to be merely tolerated, it is something essential in how music works. Maybe it is better to relate dissonance to something like contrast when thinking about colours. I don't know enough about colours to say. That said, I don't think our traditional ideas of dissonance really work all that well with colours. Intervals like minor 2nds and Major 7ths are dissonant because of the close proximity of the tones or their strong harmonics, but I think with colours you want proximity. You'd paint a scene using a lot of reds or blues together, from a narrow portion of the spectrum, but musically that would translate to a tight cluster with a range of maybe a minor 3rd. I guess that has to do with how we perceive colours differently to sound, but it seems like colour works more based on zones of colour, and I think the interval between those zones informs more of a perception of consonance than anything to do with harmonics. Hence why I think the link to music is probably within symmetrical structures and geometry. Look at the circles with a triangle and a square (augmented triad and diminished 7th). The colours around the points seem to work pretty well together as a basic palette, and you can probably pick colours from a few degrees around the points that still work. But if you go to far along the sides from any point you might run into dissonance with the rest of the pallet. That's my hypothesis anyway. Can we get an artist in here to check? I don't know if Brandon will think along those lines in the future of the cosmere. I kind of doubt it because of the amount of jargon I had to use to draw a usable link. It just wouldn't be practical to explain like that in a story. I think he's more likely to sweep it under the rug and hope nobody thinks too hard about it. He may not even try to draw a direct comparison between colour dissonance and sound dissonance.

  34. It is Mraize's trophy room, it would kind of beat the purpose, and go against his philosophy of predation, for the Ghostbloods not to have reached Yolen to procure that trophy. I think that narratively too, that was the point of the trophy room, to show the Ghostbloods' reach. That WoB is very cheeky

  36. This is kind of that “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” I see a lot of people say to struggling people attitude. I think it is a flawed logic, and even if you yourself have managed to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, that doesn’t mean everyone else can. Some people just can’t. Some people have no family members, no friends, and no mental health care (In case no one has noticed, Moash literally is alone. Yes, he had bridge 4. But he is lien that person who pushes away those who care for him most. And notice how much most bridge 4 members hate him now. Not one of them tries to reach out to him. Anyways, he is alone besides I guess…Khen? And he is no longer in a sane or logical state of mind. He is lost) At no point in this did I say …Moash is perfect, or that even I would do what he did (in fact I believe I explicitly said that I would not do what Moash did), but rather I think we…who have not been slaves or had our grandparents killed by the state, have no right to judge how others who have, react. Moash is a broken man. There is no questioning that. By the end of OB, he looks like a shell of what he once was (and I have no idea how he’ll look after RoW). The thing about the murder of Elhokar, is maybe….from Moash’s perspective, it could be his only avenue of justice. Keep in mind, from his perspective, Elhokar will CONTINUE to do what he did to his grandparents. We know as readers that that is not true. But Moash doesn’t. Could you claim that killing Hitler would be a start toward justice? Putting someone like Dalinar in charge could lead to even more justice. I believe strongly on social justice, that the only way toward real justice is to make society benefit as many people as possible, and to get rid of injustices within that society (such as in our book, light eyes being treated better than dark eyes). Saying it is petty to take out an unjust King, is…reductive at best. Killing Hitler would not be petty. Killing Stallin would not be petty. Like horribly unjust dictators quite frankly, should be taken out if you ever want any hope of justice. Again, we know that Elhokar is not like those people, but was Gavilar? Maybe. Is that how Moash sees Elhokar? Probably. See, by the way, this is something the fans are skirting around. Kaladin gets his revenge on Amaran. What if Amaran had really regretted killing Kaladin’s squad? Would you all have forgiven him as easily as you forgave Elhokar? I doubt it. Authors conveniently often give heroes excuses to get their revenge. This is common in American media. They often take the choice to give leniency away from the hero. Kaladin can’t let Amaran go because he is controlled by…something, trying to kill him. It’s so easy to speak of forgiveness when we know a character is changing. What of Amaran? What of Sadeas? Where was their forgiveness? I don’t see fans lining up to call Adolin selfish. (I like Adolin, a note) And by the way, I agree with what you said about personal healing. However, that doesn’t always mean offering forgiveness to those we hate. I will never forgive the woman who raped me when I was young and naive and far too drunk, however that does not mean Iet that hold me back. I forgave myself for being naive. I forgave myself for not knowing or understanding. I healed my scars and my wounds and trauma. But I still didn’t and never will, forgive her. Granted I don’t need a revenge on her. I just don’t care about her. If you watchrd Avatar, remember when Katara didn’t forgive her mother’s killer, but also didn’t kill him. That is how I feel about this woman. I agree with you partially, but also not completely. And I still, STILL, think Moash may get his redemption and change himself. We’ll see. I think Moash has acted wrong. I still like him. I want the best version of Moash to exist and I want him to realize that Kaladin’s methods, and not his own, are the the true way toward self healing. But he has to decide that on his own. I think that one of the problems in this thread is the assumption that because we don’t hate Moash, we approve of his actions. Yet, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone doing that. We understand him, we don’t approve his actions. Just like y’all understand Elhokar or Dalinar or any other flawed character in these great books.

  37. The Night of Sorrows. I have a similar theory - that by the end of Book 5, Odium would find a way to block or destroy Honor's Perpendicularity, so that no more Stormlight can reach Roshar. It would be like an extra long Weeping. And why do people weep? Because of sorrow. So what is the appropriate name for a long time of weeping? The Night of Sorrows. Although I disagree on this being a tool to make Dalinar lose. I think it'll be an outcome of the Contest of Champions.

  38. I would think that the Highstomr renews them, given that the ones in the CR glow afterwards, and Syl's interleud.

  39. Well, normal shardblades wouldn't work, they are both Honor and Cultivation, but Honorblades are just made of Honor.

  40. There should be at least one more Dawnshard on Roshar as when Honor mentioned them in the Visions, he pluralized them. Same with snippets of old in-world texts that we get in epigraphs. One mentioned that there's a Dawnshard that could "Bind all creatures, mortal or Voidish", which doesn't sound much like the Change Dawnshard. This is theorised to be the Unity Dawnshard. The Command is not canon, just speculation. People also theorize that this Unity Dawnshard might have some Connection with Dalinar. As for the possibility of a Dawnshard on Scadrial, Preservation does mention a weapon that he buried in Secret History. "Survive" being the Dawnshard Command is also fanon, not canon.

  42. As a side note, I'm disappointed that there were no jokes or references from Kalak about bronze.

  43. Also some dialogue (scatter patters generator) The end scene of RoW Hoid, standing with their back turned: I’ve been expecting you, Odium. Taravangian (as Odium) : How did you do that without turning around? Hoid: ... To be perfectly honest, the first couple of people I did that to were not you.

  44. Man, this is going to be hard. I... don't think that I've talked about my mental health on the shard at all, so I guess here goes. I regularly go through phases of depression and anxiety, and both have been amplified by the pandemic and having to do school online. Even though I've recently started going back to school in person, it seems like things aren't going up like I was hoping that they would. For me, it's almost like I'm stuck in limbo. I know that I should do my homework, and I know that I shouldn't put it off until later, and I know the reasons why I need to do it, and other things, but I just... can't. I just waste away my entire day doing useless things like scrolling through youtube without even watching any videos. I love art, and sometimes it's able to sort of lift me up for a short amount of time but it seems like it's becoming less effective recently. I want to care about life, and doing things, but it's just so hard. Then on top of all that, I get anxiety attacks because I didn't do the things I needed to and I start freaking out. And the cycle goes on and on. I feel very lucky to have friends, but I don't really have the strength to talk to them about my mental state, even though I know that it would help me out. I have recently been feeling hate for myself, and I hate it but I just can't seem to control it. I don't ever have suicidal thoughts (though this might be partly because of my insane fear of death), which I feel lucky about. I guess now onto a happier note. I'm also 99.99% sure that I'm on the autism spectrum, and have done quite a bit of research regarding it, but I haven't been diagnosed. I often have trouble with answering questions that people ask me that aren't literal, or that say something but actually are asking something else. I also have a lot of trouble with focusing. Reading through these two pages of this thread was very tough and took close to an hour to do. Also, when my schedule is changed in anyway it seems to ruin my day and I just can't seem to get over it, and if I'm interrupted while doing something (especially if it's something that I'm enjoying doing) then it really annoys me. The way I see the world seems to be different then everyone else around me, and It's crazy to me that others don't think and see the same way that I do. Personally, I feel like autism does affect me mentally, though it is not a mental disorder. I've been hovering over the 'Submit Reply' button for the past twenty minutes or so.

  46. You missed the fact that other shardmetals can be alloyed with Lerasium, And presumably with each other, and with the base sixteen.

  47. I'm calling it now: On Valor's world, only Heroes have magic. Perhaps the means by which one shows their Valor influences what kind of magic they manifest. On Valor's personality, I think calling them aggressive is premature. I would go with 'bold'. I think that Valor will influence the Vessel to be a bolder, more extreme version of themselves. If the Vessel were moral and just, they would become a Paragon of Virtue. If they were aggressive, then they would become the ultimate Warmonger.

  48. Religion is about belief not finding a being of sufficient power. Jasnah does not believe in the very idea of God. That's what the Shards are to her: powerful entities. And how powerful is the Almighty, when he's dead.
