  2. Daily Report 45-10-765 The samples seem to react to investiture. Some researchers were very thorough with labeling the samples but others were less careful. The team has finally organized the samples based on how they react. Sample C seems to attach itself to the interns’ hands while sample 14b had a strange habit of destroying whatever container it was in. These effects are being heavily monitored and results are still coming in. More research has disappeared and we must weed out anyone hurting the progress. Due to the lack of university oversight, the interns must decide among themselves, who to kick from the project. Player List If you didn't receive a PM let us know Day will end 8/4 at 8 PM MDT

  5. Hmm. I'll sign up as Maris Erikell, an adventurous young nobleman. Maris is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades; he's just come off a stint as an apprentice watchmaker in Tremredare under the Herons, and an internship in Silverlight should...broaden his horizons, right? To curb my usual tendencies to overfocus on the game (I don't have a lot of time these days, and QF46 kind of was not good for my health ) 1. I am going to stick to minimum 1-2 posts per cycle. If you are blessed with more, know that Santa Kas has visited you this cycle 2. I am going to do what Straw did with his multiple personalities playstyle Which is to say, each cycle, I will only speak in quotes from a particular TV show or movie. This will be randomly determined: I promise you that I will select media with a decent selection of quotes so that trying to talk will be challenging, but not impossibly frustrating or detrimental. (So yeah. Maybe don't expect deep analysis now ) 3. If I RP, that's great, but I won't focus on conveying in-game things via RP. I need to get better at disengaging and asserting boundaries, I think

  6. Crazy Theory: Gavilar was trying to take up the pieces of Honor and become a shard. Here's my reasoning: 1) We know that Gavilar had been receiving the same visions Dalinar received from the StormFather, so he knew Honor was dead. 2) He was on a first name basis with the Heralds and they worked together, so he could possibly have had more knowledge of the cosmere and shards. 3) What he says to Navani: What has he discovered the entrance to? Maybe Braize, maybe Shadesmar, who knows? But he may believe Honor's power is kept there and he himself can take up the mantle. Or... he just was on firemoss and is now obsessed with a palace storage room.

  7. Irian sketched a drawing of sample A in his notes. It was a rough steel spike, about a handspan long. It was rather advanced metalworking. Irian wondered whether it was from Sel. It didn't have the marks of soulcast steel. The spike rolled over slightly on the table, and Irian reached to steady it. The spike rolled away faster. Then it rolled off the table and rang against the floor. "Storms," Irian muttered. He quickly got out of his chair, and went over to where it rested on the floor. It rolled away again. He fell down on his knees while trying to reach it. Irian decided that he hated this sample. They'd probably sent him to study this one on purpose. He noticed that his left hand was nearer to the spike then the right hand. He moved his right hand closer. The spike moved. He moved his left hand. The spike didn't budge, and he grasped it. "Ha ha!" He moved his right hand close to it, and he could feel a magnetic like resistance. His ring. On his right hand. He took it off, and placed it on the floor. Sure enough, he could now grasp it with his other hand. He grabbed up his ring, and went back to the table. He began to scrall notes in his paper, about... About that he'd discovered the spike was magnetic. Storming revolutionary. He sighed, and began sketching once again.

  8. I think this is an important point, and I'm quoting it because YouTube was sneaky and recommended a fascinating video on an interview of three people with DID. It was eye opening for someone like myself, who had only ever known facts about the disorder through pop culture, and Shallan. I recommend it for anyone else interested in learning more. I think for their sake everyone should claim to have seen someone's alignment. if everyone claims the real role won't stand out, and when they die they will be confirmed as that role, and their targets confirmed good/evil

  20. No. Your logic seems fine based on what we know. I just think that something we don't know is going to come along and yank on our understanding of how medallions work. Some reason exists that they can't be burned. The southerners have at least a few nicrobursts. They would have tried this.

  22. I highly recommend the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. Excellent satirical fantasy, and there are 41 books, so it should last a while. You can read them in any order, really, but I'd advise starting with Guards, Guards!

  31. I've been laid off for the second time since Covid hit; I have 3 weeks to find another job so we have enough money to finance our mortgage. I want to study some more to get on a career track I'm interested in, but we can't currently afford that, so I'm just trying to find a job that's tolerable for now. I'm still pretty young, I've got plenty of time to figure stuff out, but I'm just... confused, stressed, at a bit of a loose end, trying to find some sort of purpose. It sure has been a wild year, hasn't it? Anyway. *hugs* for anyone who wants them (and an open inbox if anyone wants to talk), and cat pictures!

  33. Ten large amethysts. Together they would run her Soulcaster for... years. Or they could each Soulcast something really, really big. "Thank you," Cassie said, letting a sliver of a smile show on her face as she accepted the gems. Lord was keeping his bargain, to the letter. She tucked the amethysts within her dress, then gave a slight bow to the salesman and walked toward the door. Then she hesitated. She pointed her Soulcaster at the spikes. "Try not to use those on anyone I know?" she said with a coy smile. Then she turned before Lord could say a word, grinning all the way. Oh, the Ghostbloods would love to know about this.

  40. *facepalms* Right, that would be the obvious inference from your question. Don't know why my mind considered it how it did xD Oh, and I hate the comparison to Stranger Things (though I haven't seen it), because whenever I asked someone to watch, they'd go "Ohh, it's like the German version of Stranger Things right?", watch one episode, reaffirm the similarity with Stranger Things and pass over it. Only after I pestered them enough, they'd watch and come back like "Duuuude, this is so much better than Stranger Things!". So the comparison to a much more popular, mainstream show did NOT help Dark's viewership and popularity initially. Dark surged in popularity (like really surged) only after S3 was released, I feel.

  44. Gabe Orielle watched through the windows into a filthy skaa thieving den, his hands shaking. The Steel Ministry had killed his father for being unable to deal with this thieving crew. Even though they were only a cadet branch of the Orielles, news of the death had spread all the way to Luthadel, where the rest of the Orielles were based. Gabe had been given a choice: fix his father’s mistakes or have the entire cadet branch disowned for its failures. The sheer number of skaa here was disgusting. Such rooting, dirty creatures. Gabe looked among them, hoping to pick out the Steel Ministry’s infiltrators, but none of them stood out to him. Each of them looked equally stupid, equally subhuman, equally likely to stab him without a second thought. He let out a quiet sob. How was he supposed to do this by himself? Then, miracle of miracles, a fight broke out. One of the skaa pointed at another, accusing them of keeping a low profile. More jumped on the accusation. Then a skaa accused someone else, backing it up with their fists. Yes! Maybe he could do this! Gabe downed a vial of zinc shavings and burned it, pulling on the emotions of all the skaa there. Anger, righteousness, fear. The small fight turned into a full brawl. Gabe snuck past the fighting skaa -- they weren’t his real goal. Nobody heard his footsteps. He went down a hallway, into another room, this one a touch less dirty than the other one. It had actual furniture here, a desk with an ornate chair and a bed with a large skaa snoring on it. He pulled a paper from his pocket and compared the face on it to the face of the skaa. Check. This was Stink, crewleader of the thieving crew that had plagued his father for so long. He could do this. With this, Gabe would restore glory to his branch of the Orielles. He would make up for his father’s failings. Gabe tiptoed to the bed, drew a dagger, and buried it in Stink’s chest. Stink jerked awake and threw his body forward onto Gabe’s. He reached his hands around Gabe’s neck and squeezed. “You’re not killing me so easily, ya Ministry punk!” Stink roared. Spots swam in Gabe’s vision. He pummeled at Stink with his fists, but the weight was too much. Even for a wounded man, Stink was strong. Another, feminine voice sounded in the distance. “Stink? Is everything okay?” Then, someone else entered the room. With desperate panic, Gabe flared the last of his zinc and yanked on everything he could get in this new person. Ambition. Calm. Cruelty. Opportunism. Then he yanked on Stink’s sense of despair. The woman picked up the chair and brought it down upon Stink’s head. Then, she brought it down upon Gabe’s. His vision went black, and he knew no more. Hey y’all, this is Rae again. I’m sorry to tell you this, but… Stink is dead. A Steel Ministry assassin killed him. I was there to comfort him in his last moments, and he said that he wanted me to run the crew. So here I am. Here’s my first order: stop fighting each other. From what I hear, a whole lot of people bludgeoned Lumin to death, and someone took advantage of the chaos to knife Vilt. Reading over there looks like he keeled over from sheer fright. We can’t keep doing this, people! From now on, if you’re suspicious of someone, send them to me and we’ll make a jail for them. Feather, Varen, Caliex, I’m nominating you to bury the bodies. The rest of you are going to scrub this room clean from all the bloodstains, you hear me? Go on, get to it. Remember, if you’re suspicious of anyone, jail them, don’t kill them. Vote count: Mist: 5 (Ashbringer, Straw, TJ Shade, Eternum, Fifth Scholar) Frozen Mint: 4 (Vapor, Mist, MysticLotus, StrikerEZ Fifth Scholar: 3 (Frozen Mint, Devotary of Spontaneity, Lahilt) Lahilt is killed, and is a Skaa, Mist is a Skaa, and Shard of Reading dies of inactivity, and is also a Skaa Player list:
