  1. -> Download Version 0.10 here! <- Hey, y'all! First thread on this forum. I'm a student at Future Games in Stockholm, and this is a pet project I'm working on between classes. I'm working in Unreal Engine 4 and its Blueprint visual coding system. I started this a couple of months ago when I was just done with the Hero of Ages and really into the allomancy magic system. I'm currently on Shadow of Self. No plot spoilers! Goal The goal of this project is to make an FPS-style Mistborn game, where you can play around with some schmexy allomancy. As a fan-made game, this will stay free-to-play. Caveat I want to make a good game representation of the Mistborn books, but some things are blocking the way. School. My time is spontaneously devoted to this project. Me. I'm not the most passionate die-hard fan, I just like the idea of a properly made game, as in true to the material. Controls. I want that feeling of being a cool Mistborn, jumping through the mists, throwing things around. But. Computer/console controls are severely limiting to a magical power that should take your whole body to control (Yeah, who knew, huh?). I want the player to have a good time, regardless of having read the books or not, so I will keep controls from being overly complicated. More advanced moves from the books will probably not be possible, so I will focus on making the general moves feel really cool and make sense for the player. Current features These are the features that I have right now. These will be updated as I go along. The most recent additions are in bold. 2. I’ve been rereading The Way of Kings and it stood out to me how Hesina in Kaladin’s flashbacks seems very scholarly, and she also seems to be interested in and to know a lot about spren, and now I can’t stop thinking that she is actually Hessi, the author of Hessi’s Mythica! We know that Hesina’s past is shrouded in mystery but that she comes from a more high ranking family. As such, it makes sense to me that she would have been highly educated in the Alethi feminine arts and pursued scholarship. And there is of course the obvious connection with the name Hessi and Hesina being very similar. It is said that she and Lirin met during Lirin’s travels, and we know that Lirin was training to be a surgeon in Kharbranth so my guess is that this is where they met. I believe that Hesina was in Kharbranth at that time studying the Unmade - 1) because the Palaneum would be the best place to research such a topic, and 2) because perhaps she figured out that Moelach was there and was studying the Death Rattles (which would have brought her into contact with Lirin if she was in the hospital to observe the Death Rattles herself). Hessi’s Mythica appears to be very certain about and familiar with the Death Rattles: Throughout Kaladin’s flashbacks we get a sense of Hesina’s intellectual nature. We know that she can read and write unlike other women in Hearthstone. Then there is the way she offhandedly corrects Kaladin’s use of words, and her use of wit and logic, for example: When Kaladin is upset about the townspeople gossiping about his father, Hesina tells him: The way she explains things to Kaladin in such a wise and level way reminds me of Jasnah, or rather it reminds me of a scholar. However this quote I think is even more significant. We know that Hessi’s Mythica was poorly received due its controversial arguments about the Unmade. So when Hesina says that people are “frightened of knowledge” and that things they don’t understand must be dark and mysterious, I think she is drawing on her own experience here too. Perhaps what stands out to me most of all is that the focus of one of the few interactions we see between Hesina and Kaladin is her knowledge of spren. It does not seem to be a superstitious kind of knowledge, nor does it seem to be common knowledge. To me it comes across as a scholarly knowledge, and something Hesina is very confident about. If we turn to Hessi’s Mythica, Hessi too seems to have a deep knowledge of spren. Mythica makes a point of identifying the Unmade as types of spren. The fact that Hessi makes reference to Jasnah shows that Hessi was writing in this current period, so Hesina is around the right age that Hessi would likely be. But it also means that in order for Hesina to actually be Hessi, she would have had to have published it while living in Hearthstone, not 19 years ago in Kharbranth when Jasnah would have been only about 15 years old. This isn't too big of an issue for me though. Hesina could have amassed her research and evidence and then finished writing it later on in Hearthstone, perhaps continuing her research in other ways that Kaladin wouldn't have been aware of as a child. These are my main thoughts, although I admit it is a bit of a crackpot theory!

  3. Wow, looks like the elim team has Striker, TJ, Ventyl, and Gears, embarking on a cunning plan to get each other killed for trust while simultaneously killing actual villagers trusted for their votes. Next thing you know, the elims will be purposefully submitting kills on each other so they can claim Skybreaker/Dustbringer. Does squiring take up two stormlight charges? The rules only mention it requiring two actions, so Radiants can't take any other actions the night they squire someone.

  7. I think you are in a weird place of simultaneously taking this game way too seriously (when you are under threat of dying), and also not seriously enough (when you aren't). But I will say that the latter is almost entirely responsible for the former, so you might want to reconsider your playstyle in the future. It is possible to engage in behavior that objectively helps the elims while you are a villager, but I don't think it causes anyone else in the game to have more fun. There's a lot of grey area between playing optimally and helping the elims, and I think we as a community try to be open to less conventional playstyles, but (at least some of us) are also rather competitive (myself very much included). It might be worth your while to try and read some past games to try and get a feel for this balance. I think Alvron and STINK have done an excellent job of finding the balance here, and more recently Wilson and Orlok have been exploring it . I'm not sure that this is a helpful attitude to have. We could act on different suspicions now, and avoid what I consider to be a double mislynch. I think people often have the mindset that lynching X will give us lots of information, but really, it's generally more accurate to say that X flipping elim will give us said information.

  10. Okay so I saw a few of the Explain a Film Plot badly things earlier and thought they were funny, so I decided to do them for the cosmere books. I think some of them are funny, so I decided to share them. Hopefully it'll at least get a few laughs. If anyone has any more or any different ones, please post them. Spoilers for the cosmere, obviously. I'll label each one just in case though. The Final Empire: Well of Ascension: Hero of Ages: Alloy of Law: Shadows of Self: Bands of Morning: Warbreaker: Elantris: I couldn't think of any for Stormlight, hopefully someone else can [EDIT by Moderator: This topic originally was solely cosmere but has moved beyond that, so I moved this to Entertainment Discussion.]

  12. So I have this completely crazy theory about Shards and their intent. I don't know if this has come up before, but here it goes: We know from certain WoB that the number of shards wasn't limited to 16. There could have been more and there could have been less. We know that Odium, and possibly others are going around splintering Shards, which are already pieces of divinity. I believe (I'll have to check) that it has been said that when a shard is splintered, it can be put back together. This brings me to my claims. 1: Adonalsium was not broken along clear lines of intent, hence the term "shattering" Adonalsium was the whole, the infinity. And the next logical step 2: when a shard is splintered, it can be reassembled as a different intent. For this specific statement, I have some type of proof beyond just speculation. On Roshar, we know that there are three shards: Honor, Cultivation, and Odium. At the battle of Thaylen Field, Dalinar Ascended, written with a capital A. He tells Odium "I am Unity", again note the capital U. I believe that here, Dalinar somehow grabbed some splinters of Honor and Ascended with a new Intent.

Characters: Nazh (Threnody) Spook (Scadrial / Mistborn Era 1) Renarin (Roshar / Stormlight Archive) Hrathen (Sel / Elantris) Siri (Nalthis / Warbreaker) Steris (Scadrial / Mistborn Era 2) Among all the suggested characters, Spook gets the most votes. Good for him!

  16. I've heard a lot of people say Scrivener really helps how they write. I think its methods of organization are really good. That said, I tried it, but couldn't get into it. I really disliked having to go to a different "document" for each chapter. I think it's a personal preference, as I tend to be pretty organized already, and trying to fit my organization into Scrivener just didn't work. I use good old Word, but I use a lot of the header and formatting properties, so I can easily jump to sections I want. I usually have an outline document, the book document, and another document with revisions and notes. That way I can have one document open on each screen (I have two monitors) if I need to refer to notes or feedback. I may end up with a spreadsheet or two as well, based on if I need any calculations or tables in my worldbuilding.

  17. I don’t really think either Ventyl or TJ are elims. Elim!Ventyl would almost certainly know that squiring doesn’t use Stormlight. Village!Radiant!Ventyl would also know, if Ventyl had actually squired. Thus, we probably have a Vanilla!Village!Ventyl. However, due to probably lying about his role, I can understand the votes on him. The chaos he’s creating isn’t helpful to the village. And like I mentioned last cycle, TJ’s double vote manip soft-cleared him in my eyes. I’d also like to point out that it is totally possible for two people to strongly want each other dead, while being on the same team, provided they don’t know that fact. I’m less sure what to think of Devotary right now. @Devotary of Spontaneity, you seem against the Ventyl/TJ lynch. Who are your suspicions, if not any of the people you mentioned? I’m going to put my vote on Gears for now. I’m sticking with my read from last cycle, and this post: seems non-committal to me.

  18. A "Unite Them" theory: What if "Unite Them" means something all together different? What if originally investiture was spread evenly through out the living things in the Cosmere and whoever became Adonalsium managed to pool it into itself, to a degree that "depleted" or at least diminished the availability of investiture to living things? Maybe the (original?) purpose of the 16 was to break Ado completely and return the investiture to the broader universe, thus uniting the 3 realms in each living thing? Could that be BranSan's/Hoid's end game?

  20. "She was tall and thin, but stood in the centre of the path" - Right, sorry @TheDwarfyOne, this is not aimed at you, but a general observation because I am seeing this in almost everything that I critique at the moment; everything. Anyway, not personal in any way, universal observation. [Edit: also, by the end I almost talked myself around, but there is still a point to it .] The word 'but' here is used as a conjunction, defined as the following. 1. used to introduce a phrase or clause contrasting with what has already been mentioned. "he stumbled but didn't fall" 2. used to indicate the impossibility of anything other than what is being stated. "one cannot but sympathize" The two parts of the sentence bear almost relation to each other. They're not interdependent, OR at least not obviously so [And that is why I started on this moan]. The woman could be short and stout, and stand in the centre of the path, or tall and thin, and stand at the edge of the path. There's just no OBVIOUS dependence between these two clauses, IMO. AT LEAST, not without further explanation. Is the point that Mum and Susan could have walked past the woman if she had stood at the edge of the path, because she is thin, but could not have passed her if she stood at the edge of the path, and was stout? That's the only explanation I can come up with that makes 'but' work between these clauses. The problem I have then is that it's not obvious (I don't think) that this is the idea behind linking these two clauses. Sorry for the rant, but as I started with, I have seen this a lot in recent subs through the group. If we (I'm positive I've done it too) are going use conjunctions, I think it needs to be clear what the message is for them to make sense, and not sound like run-on sentences. I guess what is clear to some will not be clear to others, but that's why we sub, after all! I'm enjoying the story, BTW. Full comments should be up by the time you see this, or shortly after.

  21. Let's start with magic then Magic in the Cosmere functions as conversion between matter, energy and Investiture. Our world (supposedly?!) only has matter and energy but the Cosmere also has Investiture, which facilitates conversions between the three. You can see Investiture as fuel or potential energy. Investiture also connects the three realms: There are three planes of existence in the Cosmere: the Physical Realm, the Cognitive Realm (the realm of the mind, perception, where beings like the spren & "ghosts", or Cognitive Shadows dwell) and the Spiritual Realm (the realm of the soul, where space-time is one, everything is connected, this is where souls aka Spiritweb or sDNA exists and where the Shards dwell. The Shards are, simply put, gods. They are pure Investiture, with an Intent. That means that they want to use Investiture oriented towards a certain theme. All Investiture is divided up amongst the Shards. But it wasn't always so. There was once a being called Adonalsium, who created the Cosmere. Shards typically require Vessels: people who hold the Shard's power and direct it. The original Vessels took up the power of Adonalsium after an event known as the Shattering. There are 16 Shards: Preservation & Ruin, gods of Scadrial (Mistborn) Honor, Cultivation and Odium, gods of Roshar (the Stormlight Archives) Devotion and Dominion, gods of Sel (Elantris and the Emperor's Soul) Ambition, god of Threnody (Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell) Endowment, god of Nalthis (Warbreaker) and others of whom we know very little as of now. Hoid knew all of these original Vessels and was present at the Shattering.

  25. Sophie stood on the corner of steel and Dox street, staring down at the invitation clutched in her hand. She wouldn’t even be here if she hadn’t come to a nearby town to look at a litter of puppies. It would have been a few days before she could pick them up, and so she had come here. Sophie had absolutely no clue why she had even gotten the invitation. She only knew the lord because he happened to own a patch of land next to her own, and he once happened to get absolutely lost and almost had a run in with the local bear. So, here she was, in a city. Sophie hated cities. They were loud, noisy, and big. She was staring at the invitation, trying to decipher the poor handwriting when she had almost gotten run over by one of those new fangled horseless carriages. No respect for decent pedestrians! Well, having to attend a party was at least better than the time she had gotten caught in between a patch of brambleberries and that Mama Bear! Although not by much.

  26. That's going a bit far. Maybe step back and remember that this is only a game? Ventyl is allowed to protect themself and try to stay alive instead of going for the optimal village move. Honestly at this point, I think Ventyl has done brilliantly. Assuming they're a villager Knight, the Elims aren't going to kill them. There's too little/much information about whether or not Ventyl is actually killable. The Elims are much more likely to target someone else and leave them alive for a while. It's better to go for a sure kill than a potentially blocked kill. If they're an Elim, which I straight up do not believe is possible, then they have done a brilliant job in pretending othewise, to the point where I'm willing to defind them and makes sure someone else get's lynched. Frankly, I think we should just ignore the Ventyl stuff for now and focus elsewhere.

  27. Lost Metal has been a year away for five years now. I'll wait until a progress bar pops up before getting my hopes up. Lost Metal has become the new Warbreaker and Elantris sequels; always just on the horizon, but never quite the right time to do it, apparently. Brandon has a good sense of how long it takes to write a book once he starts working on it, but his future project list changes about once a month. Since Stormlight is almost over, I expect he knows what's going to come next; Skyward 3 is my guess, since he has to keep both his publishers happy and Tor just got a big ol' book. But after Skyward 3... who knows. Maybe he'll take longer than expected on it, and "need" to go straight to Skyward 4. Maybe one of his other side projects, like Dark One (with its big TV show just around the corner) or the Mistborn screenplay (which nobody will buy) or Apocalypse Guard (which he's figured out for sure this time) or new audiobook content for finished series (since everyone's been clamoring for more Legion and Reckoners) or Adamant or Silence Divine or who knows what other Secret Project jump up on the priority list and bump everything else out. Incidentally, this pattern also has me concerned about the Stormlight novella for the leatherbound Kickstarter. The other Cosmere Kickstarter projects haven't come close to keeping their timetables, because they offered products that had yet to be developed and the creators haven't been able to hold to those production timelines. The House War expansion will be three years late on what was supposed to a be a 1-year wait, but at least it's being manufactured right now. I've flat-out written off the $50 I spent on the Stormlight art book from the Kaladin soundtrack, since they're back to square 1 on that again. I was expecting an Kickstarter done by Dragonsteel would be more professional and not have those issues, but here we are, about to pay for a novella that hasn't been written yet by an author who has not demonstrated he can write a given book in a timely manner. Yes, he's always publishing something, but often it's not what he had planned to publish a year before. When he finishes a book, next he writes whatever he's passionate about writing at that moment. When he's shared plans before on social media or in States of the Sanderson, it's always been informal, so there's nothing wrong about breaking that "promise." But once we give him our money, he will actually be making a real promise to write this novella; we'd better hope we get lucky and he gets passionate about the novella in the middle of other Stormlight work. Before the replies come in, of course Brandon is allowed to write what he wants to write. When he says "here's what I'm gonna write," I have not said "he should write this instead." What I am saying is: "I doubt that. Fans, don't count your chickens until he's started writing them."

  29. A Detailed Theory on the Identity of Odium's Champion TL;DR: It's Ishar. First off, let's get this out of the way. Why I don't think Moash is the champion. Odium chose Dalinar as his champion due to his fearsome prowess on the battlefield. Moash on the other hand, grew up as a caravan worker and picked up the spear for the first time under Kaladin's tutelage in the chasms. You'd ideally want the best of Odium's to become his champion and Moash is nowhere near that even with a newly bonded Honorblade. Meanwhile, Dalinar's side has so many deadly fighters. Szeth: trained to use all ten Surges and capable of killing multiple Shardbearers at once; Kaladin: master spearman; Adolin: master duelist; Jasnah: who can kill without even a touch; all of whom have been training for years. It'll hardly be a fair contest. Furthermore, Moash's role is to provide a perspective into what would drive a human to side with the Voidbringers. It has occurred in prior Desolations and thus a human fighting for the Voidbringers does not make Moash a champion to be. And then there's this: Moash is aware that humans are invaders on Roshar. We saw how troubled Bridge Four became when they learned about this in Oathbringer. I'm certain that we're going to see more humans side with the Voidbringers in the upcoming books. That Moash did it first does not make it unique. Hell, there are 26 countries on Roshar: Azir, Jah Keved, Thaylenah, Shinovar, Iri, Rira etc and nobody outside a handful in Alethkar are even aware Moash exists. If Moash and Kaladin were indeed set up to become champions of their respective sides, we'd ideally have them start off on opposite ends of the world and have their character arcs grow towards each other. Instead we have Kaladin and Moash, both from the same kingdom, under the same highprince, in the same bridge crew and with a personal history between them, now fighting over the fate of all of Roshar? It's just doesn't make sense. There's simply not enough depth to make Moash a compelling villain threatening the entire human civilization in Book 5. As we saw at the end of Oathbringer, the war has already affected several countries in Roshar; thus it only makes sense that all nations have a stake in the conflict. And that leads me perfectly to my next point: Who among the handful of people are known to all of Roshar and wield immense power? Why do I suspect the Heralds? We have begun seeing similar occurrences being mirrored on both sides of the war. Humans have begun to side with Odium; singers have begun to side with the Radiants. The Thrill, a Splinter from Odium's side is captured; Jezrien, a cognitive shadow from Honor's side is killed. Sja-Anat, a Splinter from Odium's side wants to betray him and join the Radiants; A Herald, a cognitive shadow from Honor's side has betrayed him and joined Odium. Or as the epigraph from Words Of Radiance cleverly alludes: The Heralds are incredibly weak after centuries of torture and I doubt they'd offer any resistance if Odium offered them the same deal he did to Dalinar: Give me your pain and in return, serve me. Narrowing down our list of suspects. Why do I suspect Ishar? Here's a detailed timeline of Ishar's activities with relevant quotes. Note that there's one section below which is pure speculation and I have called it out as such but it ties together several disparate plot lines neatly. Aharietiam - 4500 years ago Ishar agreed to serve Odium even before Aharietiam. He is the who convinced the Heralds to abandon the Oathpact after a Desolation where only Taln died in the course of battle. Ishar suggested that one person may be enough to keep the following Desolations at bay. And so, the nine agreed to abandon the Oathpact. From the prelude of The Way of Kings: Ishar is the only Herald who survived the Desolations with his mind intact. From Oathbringer: Speculation Start I suspect Ishar assumed Taln being the sole Herald would not hold out for long and decided to wait it out until Taln broke. However, Taln's iron will over the centuries held strong and Ishar grew increasingly frustrated and instigated the False Desolation. False Desolation and Recreance - 2000 years ago The False Desolation is key to understanding the events which lead to the Recreance. Here is a quote from Coppermind: Look at the last paragraph (highlighted in bold) above. Ba-Ado-Mishram somehow managed to Connect with a vast number of singers. Next, here's a quote from the Stormfather to Dalinar: Next up, here's a quote regarding the Dawnshards: Putting these quotes together, it's very likely that Ishar used a Dawnshard to bind / Connect with a Voidish entity: Ba-Ado-Mishram. Furthermore, only a Herald is capable of wielding Connection on a planet scale and bind with a vast number of minds. However Melishi, the sole Radiant Bondsmith of the era captured Ba-Ado-Mishram and due to the unnatural nature of the Connection, the capture led to all Connected singers losing their Identity. Quoted from Coppermind: I must take a moment to gush about the divine foreshadowing here. In the novella Edgedancer, we are introduced to the country of Tashikk. It is named after whom the Tashikki worship: Tashi. Here's a quote about Tashi from Coppermind: It is pretty clear that Tashi (the Binder of the World) is none other than Ishar. On Roshar, the character h is often used as a substitute for any or no character. Let's drop the h from Tashi to obtain Tasi. Now, let's revisit an earlier quote but this time look closely at the source: Rearrange the characters of the word ista; what do we get? Speculation End Now, there's one other significant event which ties into the Recreance: Nale's third ideal as a Skybreaker was to follow the word of Ishar. Nale seems incapable of making his own decisions and keeps visiting Ishar to seek guidance. Supporting quote from Edgedancer: Another one: From Oathbringer: Ishar is also the who sets Nale up on his mission to kill all budding Knights. Nale's a Skybreaker of the fifth ideal. He is the law. Hence all Skybreakers simply continued following Nale's will, and by extension, Ishar's will. Hierocracy - 500 years ago Ishar's next attempt at seizing power came during the Hierocracy, by which he had started wearing the guise of a God priest. Here's a very interesting quote, from The Way Of Kings: Here's another quote from Coppermind: Ishar almost certainly headed the Hierocracy and commanded his priests to conquer the world and control all people. He also did not want knowledge of the Radiants and Shadesmar to spread and thus rewrote significant portions of books and knowledge. However it was sometime during this time, a young conqueror from Alethkar, Sadees the Sunmaker began an ambitious quest to conquer all of Roshar. I'm also certain that the Sunmaker saw the same visions as Dalinar did from the Stormfather. Relevant quote: Sadees, being a ruthless warrior attempted to "unite them" via conquest and put down the Hierocracy. For reasons unknown, he was poisoned soon after, leading to his death. I suspect involvement by the Ghostbloods, as poison seems to be their MO: Kabsal attempts to poison Jasnah; Iyatil attempts to poison Amaram through a blow-dart. Present Day As the God Priest of Tukar, Ishar has been engaged in the Eighty's War against Emul for control of the city of Sesemalex Dar. Here's evidence of Voidspren mysteriously appearing near Tukar: Here's some very subtle foreshadowing that Odium's forces are lead by a "head ardent" aka God Priest. And finally, Book Five was supposed to Dalinar's book, ie the Bondsmiths' book, before Sanderson switched it to Book Three. The final showdown in Book Five will be Dalinar, the Radiant Bondsmith going head to head against Ishar, the Herald of Bondsmiths, with both dueling and influencing Connection on a vast scale.

  30. Lightweavers can also soulcast at a distance. Also, it's not 100% confirmed that Lightweavers can use Transformation to add extra weight to their illusions. While Jasnah is usually right, it could also be the amount of stormlight that Shallan used, as investiture carries is own weight.

  31. Sazad did not swap out anything. Preservation wanted there to be 16 metals but pre industrial humans could not produce either cadmium or bendalloy so he "substituted" with atium and malatium. Neither metal was part of the base 16 at any point. The same might be true for seers. Considering that the potential for seers is in the population it eventually shoud produce a few even if they did not know it unless it was somehow bread out.

  34. So far, everything's been the name of an in-world text. So I'm trying to think, what sounds like a book title Roshar would have? I think maybe Knight of Wisdom (learn about the Recreance?), or Killer of Worlds, which does seem to almost fit with Odium, though that's kind of more Ruin. Maybe Jasnah or Navani writes a book when they learn more of how humans ended up on Roshar.

  38. Uhh... no. We’re adamant about having you squire because you said you would squire tonight in order to prove yourself as a loyal Radiant. If you really are a Village Radiant, then we need you to Squire someone before the Elims kill you. If you’re not, and are either a Village Roleless or an Elim, then you’ve gotten yourself into this mess and I’m going to get to the bottom of it. Here’s what I propose. Squire tonight, but don’t tell anyone who you’re squiring. The next day, tell us whether the squiring went through, and have the squire (who you can PM with) agree that your squiring succeeded. I think this would work to help clear you, and/or pull a squiring away from the Elims. It would be acting in the Village’s interest. The only problem is that “my squiring failed because I hit a Radiant” is both a fairly likely event and an easy excuse... anyone else have any advice on this plan?

  40. I think that if you want to keep as much of the plot as possible, it would be hard to remove the mistaken identity element without also having to rewrite Alean. Her main role is to be a huge thorn in Raeth's side by holding the 'I know that you're not Hern and if you don't pick me, everyone else will know it too' sword of Damocles over his head, thus adding a complication to that side of the plot. While I'd anticipate a rewrite to how that plot thread is ended (see a couple other topics on the question of rewriting the book) I don't think removing it entirely would be the best approach. As it stands the senators really didn't care about the mixup but as long as Raeth thinks there's a threat, it works narratively. Mind you, if there was some sort of plausible secret Alean learned from Hern that she could use as blackmail material unrelated to the mixup, her plot thread could still work while eliminating the mixup angle, I'm just not sure what Hern could possibly know that could reasonably fit that requirement.

  43. Yes! I have a place to share my weird cosmere dreams! This was just after I had finished the Mistborn trilogy, and I dreamed that I was in a small town, far out in the country. As I entered, Vin and Elend were ballroom dancing on a roof. I ignored them and wandered into this barn, where Kelsier was running a store. I think he was selling hay? I ran up and hugged him, but as I looked up at him I saw it was an imposter, so I ran outside and Shallan was waiting there. She told me that Adolin had gotten stuck in a pig pen and led me to him. I can’t remember anything more than that, unfortunately.

  44. Hufflepuff! I was disappointed when the old Pottermore website sorted me into Hufflepuff, and then I researched what the houses stand for and I think it's correct. Although I could swing to Gryffindor. I originally thought I should be Ravenclaw. Then I realised that Ravenclaw isn't about being intelligent. It's about how much value we place on intelligence. For me it's not that important, so, not Ravenclaw! J. K. Rowling on Hufflepuff

  47. I totally saw Brandon the other day, and he was getting drunk on stormlight. He was so drunk that when I offered to help him carry the giant vats of concrete he was lugging around (don't ask), he just handed me some notes on his plans for Stones Unhallowed and walked away. Being a loyal fan of Brandonalsium, I decided to do the only logical thing and post what will happen in the next book for all to see. I hope you enjoy having Stormlight Archive #3 ruined for you! - The prologue is Elhokar at the party where Gavilar died. He notices Dalinar following the codes as Gavilar said. Then, the two mysterious men convince him to trick Dalinar into getting completely wasted. He gets Dalinar drunk, then gives Szeth directions to Gavilar's room, gives Sadeas the handbook on how to stop the Desolations (it was the only one of its kind, and Sadeas destroys it), gives Venli the tip that she needs to unlock Stormform, and gives Darkness a list of crimes committed by all Surgebinders so that he can kill them. Adolin is also revealed to have dated Shallash. - In present day, the Ghostbloods say that Shallan must find true love if she wants to join them. She angsts over whether she loves Kaladin or Adolin. - Kaladin flies in to Hearthstone in the middle of Roshone's marriage to Laral (it was a really long engagement). Roshone has now grown an evil goatee and intends to push his new button that gives supreme power to Odium once he gets married. Kaladin bursts in and gives his objection right before the vows. Everyone cheers that Kaladin saved the day, only for a brick to knock him out. - Jasnah has to babysit Baby Odium, the suckling child from WoK Chapter 57's Death Rattle. - Szeth decides to chase his dream and become a rockstar. It is revealed in his flashbacks that everyone in Shinovar discouraged this dream because stone was sacred. Szeth was sad, but then he saw someone Soulcasting some grass into a guitar. Using the guitar, he rocked out, singing that the end was coming. He was made Truthless because his music was too loud. - It's revealed that Lirin has turned evil and crowned himself Emperor of Hearthstone. Kaladin, Roshone, Laral, Jost's Dad, and Hesina team up to stop Lirin from upgrading the Voidbringers into the Super Voidbringers. However, when Kaladin tries to fight him, Lirin goes Super Saiyan and defeats Kaladin, telling him that he has to unlock more true potential. - Dalinar confesses that he doesn't remember his wife, only to find out that her name actually is "Shshshshshshsh". - Jasnah runs into a hat-obsessed man who likes drinking metal, claims that two and two equals pickle, can regenerate and slow time, is a master of disguise, and hates guns. Brandon's notes indicate that he is indeed a worldhopper: Hrathen. - The Highspren cause Highstorms, but they've grown tired of it so they give Adolin the power to make Highstorms. - Shallan actually does draw herself as a bridgeman, causing her to realize that she loves Kaladin. - Kaladin decides to say the Fourth Oath to get enough power to defeat Emperor Lirin. However, when he learns that it's, "I will not go after my friend's girl", he refuses to say it. - Dalinar walks up to Shallan and says, "Kaladin killed Helaran" with no context, then walks away. - Nalan is also in possession of a giant block of ice in which Spook has cryogenically frozen himself. - The recurring Interlude character (like Szeth in WoK and Eshonai in WoR) is Mazrim Taim. - Ghost Sadeas appears and swears the Oath, "The death is my life, the strength becomes my weakness, the journey has ended", causing him to transform into Sataneas. - Kaladin tries to flee Hearthstone, but ends up tripping over and unplugging a power cord. This gets rid of Emperor Lirin's power, and Kaladin easily defeats him. As thanks for stopping Lirin, Laral gives Kaladin a big smooch. However, as she does, Shallan walks in, gasps, and runs away. Kaladin chases after her saying that he can explain and we see no more of them in this book. - To raise money for the new Radiants, Dalinar and Renarin start a car wash. However, Amaram's 1974 Parsher truck turns out to be a Carform Parshendi, which turns into the legendary Voidmobile when Adolin hits it with a Highstorm. - Lopen is part of the 11th Radiant Order, the Ganchos. - Szeth and Darkness can't get into Shinovar because there's a ten dollar admission fee. Spook defrosts and the trio go on an epic quest to find ten dollars. - Derethil is still alive and the Aesudan subplot is resolved when Wandersail falls from the sky and crushes her. - Nan Balat reveals that Shallan's mom's name was 'Restares Davar'. - Szeth, Spook, and Darkness run into Jasnah, owner of Roshar's last ten dollars. Szeth and Jasnah bond over their mutual fakeout deaths. - Navani falls into a parallel dimension where Steelheart, The Rithmatist, and Alcatraz are part of the Cosmere. - Lift eats Sadeas's body, causing Sataneas to get mad. - Szeth finally gets back to Shinovar with the ten dollar admission fee, only to find out that they're closed for the summer. - Taravangian finds love. - Adolin gets a puppy and names it Sureblood Jr. However, his puppy gets eaten by TenSoon. - It's revealed that Odium wants to destroy the Cosmere because he got friendzoned by Cultivation. - The Nightwatcher is revealed to actually be the Nightwasher, and only gives you a boon and a curse if you wash your dishes. - Eshonai wakes up and finds that she has been rebuilt into a cyborg. - It's revealed that the Ten Fools founded a group called the Knights Radian. It takes two orders to form a Knights Diameter. - The big twists of the book are: 1. The Recreance happened becuase the Knights Radiant were no longer given a discount on fast food. 2. Elhokar has already been assassinated and Danlan has tricked everyone into thinking that she is Elhokar. 3. The masked Ghostblood is Stella, daughter of Dalinar and Vin, master of all Radiant powers, only one who can stop Odium, and love interest of Hoid. (Totally not a Mary Sue.) 4. Nohadon plaigirized The Way of Kings, stealing it in its entirety from How to be Evil by Dilaf. 5. Lift gets a Shardfork. 6. Ronald McDonald is coming to Roshar. I hope you are all happy to have the book utterly spoiled! Sorry Brandon, but I had to share this new info.

I want Hoid's musical number to be something like "You're welcome" from Moana, where (Moana spoilers, I guess) he leads his listeners into some magical world with his singing and then it turns out he stole everything from them while they were busy being amazed. Also, each Shard needs its own song. With Bavadin's being a choir piece and her doing all of the voices.
