I'm back, Cosmere spolers

Hey, this is my first alleyverse art. I drew Allence for a festival.

Though you should really stay and read a book or two. Or twenty. Anything by Brandon Sanderson is bound to be superb.

So regarding the "what changed in our history" question. I noticed, that we have several different head canons around regarding that topic, leading to an unruly canon and probably many discussions in E5. Voidus and me thought it best to decide that on mod level, as the era will start in two days and we don't have the time to make a poll regarding the larger events that happened every era and allow enough time for everybody to weigh in. Here is what we felt like should work with the E5 changes, without eliminating too much, so that rped character development of older characters can be (mostly) kept. If you are unsure about a specific situation that is important for your character, please don't hesitate to ask! E1: Guild War did happen, massive destruction of the city (also because of the demons of the Chaos Space Marines), Alleycity wasn't nuked E2: happened as it did, minus the Phoenix attack on Oasis City E3: happened as it did, minus the Phoenix attack on Alleycity; the combined forces of the guilds were able to defeat Plasma Core E4: the exploration happened as it did, the atium was distributed evenly between the participating guilds ============ As the guilds will be less powerful, several smaller groups exist to fill the vacuum left behind. They don't need to be named, but in general more guilds exist, and the ones with PCs are simply a part of them all. ============ The slum is located in the north of Alleycity, a part that was heavily destroyed during E1 and E3. People there don't have a 24/7 access to electricity and running water, and they live in the ruins of the houses that used to be there. (So far it used to be in the krater left by the nuking of Alleycity in E1)

They never seemed to work with the music that always filled her mind. And yet, there was a limerick there, fighting with the song she was humming. It was even one of her favorites - the song, not the limerick - which made the limerick annoy her all the more. Where was this sound coming from. If she found the source, she’d kill it. Even if it was one of her people. Anyone muttering in limerick form didn’t deserve her protection. She tried to dance down the street, humming louder to block out the limerick. But no, the limerick got louder. She couldn’t even make out any words but it was increasing in a syllabic volume that made her forget how cold it was. (Maybe if she wasn’t so frustrated, she’d be thrilled about something causing her to forget the chill, but no). A shadow in the alley caught her eye, and she spun toward it. She’d lost her beat. That had never happened to her before. Whipping out one of her daggers - a jagged little work of art she loved to slice through skin with - she stepped toward the alley. And the words became clear. “For students, there’s three things to know - The first is that school makes much woe And even if worked on Till you see light of dawn You might still have nothing to show!” Sloan grinned. It wasn’t one of her people. She would’ve delighted in killing the student without any encouragement whatsoever, but this one. This one had made her lose her beat. The blood ran dark out of the alley and Sloan danced away. The beat was back, the limerick silenced. The night suddenly seemed so much brighter. Lin Wa (Walin) was killed! He was a Skindancer! Amila Tays (Zillah) was killed! She was a Student! Maern (Xino) was attacked and protected! Ugfal the Three-Handed (Stink), Cadici (CadCom), and Rath were all brought on the Horns and the Masters, in a stroke of viciousness, expelled all three of them! The following students were elevated: Seoras (Haelbarde), Athdara (Elandera), Straw (Straw Altiora), Lasko Veitch (Karnage), Vol (Devotary), Rath, Ugfal the Three Handed (Stink), and Leo (Lopen). Term 4 Month 2 has begun! It will end 15 May at 4:00 PM PDT.

I doubt this is a real scene within the timeline Just Bridge 4 looking cool.

Question, @little wilson @Elberethis there an inactivity death? And do they have to post in thread? If not, I think I will place my votes on Zillah. If so, I'll probably change it to someone who won't just die from inactivity. Zillah's last post was RP during turn 3.1. They also had RP in turn 2.2, and their only other post that turn was asking about green profile pictures. During turn 2.1 Zillah made their last game related comment, where they just placed votes on Burnt and Lord Silberfarben. During 1.2, they had a total of 3 RP posts, and nothing else. 1.1, 2 RP and one post with a question about tuition reducitons. Ok finally. Something to look at They have a post in 1.1 saying we shouldn't just not put votes on Edema Ruh because there might be skindancer(s) among them. And that's all. A total of 7 RP posts, one vote post, and one NAI game related post. So, ya, Zillah. On some other people, Cadcom has a slight village feel to me, as does Xino. I will have to go back and do some more analysis later and figure out who else seems suspicious to me. Well. That's 200 words, and I got to go for now.

I am pleased to announce that there's an entirely new set of reputation titles. Check out under your name to the left of your post and see what title you are--I imagine it will be very different. Why did the ranks get altered? Well, I hadn't ever really expected people to rise through the ranks so fast. Obviously this site isn't going anywhere, and five years down the line, it wouldn't make sense for all of us to be Adonalsium, now would it? So this new scheme was designed to be much more sustainable for years to come. It's also designed to have a ton more progression than the old system. In the old scheme, you became Shard at 128, and then new ranks appeared at 256, 512, and 1024. Not so much progression. Considering how many people are in the 1-500 range, there needed to be a lot more ranks. And boy, there are a lot of new ranks. In the old scheme we had less than 20 ranks total. In this new system, there are 102 positive reputation levels. There's also no exponential growth on new ranks--it's much more linear, with the differences between levels gradually increasing. I hope you find the new system fun! There are a lot of very powerful and cool titles now, but there are also delightfully obscure cosmere titles, and some that are just plain silly. Hehehe. And of course, now with a properly large list of ranks, it's time to complain about their ridiculousness. Some of the promotions are... interesting, to say the least. Honestly, I really struggle with read/player analysis, as I'm really good at picking at innocent things to make them look suspicious, bot not great at really pulling out suspicious things on their own... A Joe in the Bush - I'm getting a bit nervous of Joe. Joe's first post, all NAI content. Quotes Rae, but it's not particularly useful in determining alignment. Next post. Ok, I've actually completely forgotten why I was suspicious of Joe. I like their content this cycle, and even if they were my best suspicion, I might refrain from voting on them just because this is the first cycle with significant content. However I was thinking a Rae/Joe/TGK elim team might work pretty well. I don't remember what got me thinking that though... so take it with a grain of salt. : / Sart - Village Started their post C1 when I was tied with Rae with 3 votes, and was arguing against my lynch. Also could have rewritten their post to be suspicious of Kidpen to tie Rae's vote, but didn't do that either. Zillah - Inactive Megasif - Strong Village Pretty confident is village. Was the second vote on Rae, and broke the 6-way voting tie in her favor. As you can see, chances of expulsion jump by as much as 20 percent for 6 DP (Zillah) and 10 percent for 1 DP (Rath, Stink, Cadcom). Walin can increase the likelihood of expulsion by around 30-40 percent total (around 10 percentage points more for each DP). I have to leave now, (and I just noticed that one of charts has an error ) I'm not sure if I'll be back before rollover. Hopefully yes.

A quick run through my DP calculator shows that with 40 DP, each person up for vote has a 35.14 percent chance of being expelled, a 31.9 percent chance of being roleblocked for three turns, a 15.4 percent chance of being roleblocked for one turn, and a 17.4 chance of being brought On the Horns with no effect. With the 4 extra DP factored in, Zillah has a 72.7 percent chance of getting expelled, a 19.1 percent chance of getting roleblocked for three turns, a 4.6 percent chance of getting roleblocked for one turn, and a 3.6 percent chance of being brought On the Horns with no effect. You are correct. Actually, that leaves him just enough to elevate to Master at the beginning of 3.2- but, of course he spent 1 on Naming. Of course. The Stranger and his Shade noted the arrivals of their respective targets with cool satisfaction. Both Sudiov and Aylitha could provide valuable assets for his enterprise, but both could be dangerous to him and more importantly, his work. The Stranger and his Shade smiled, dimensions apart, and said, "I am changing the world." ... "An opportunity to push the borders of Science. I am going to reshape the Alleyplanet, to put a stop to the endless wars and chaos that have plagued us for so long." "And in that darkness we found our goal, our great work. We would use our power to create a place where the cruelty of foolish could not reach. Where those who gorged themselves on ignorance couldn't abuse, prevent, or destroy the work of the Hungry. Where the light of Science would no longer be relegated to a candle flickering under a blanket of secrecy, but a beacon to those who sought it's flame. We left the worlds that had rejected and persecuted us, we usurped no one to build this world. We Sacrificed EVERYTHING!" His voice was ragged and filled with such emotion that the Stranger hadn't know he had left. His blood ran hot as his spikes burned cold. Pride and despair warred within hi words like serpents straining for dominance, and despair was the victor. "And it was all for naught." He turned, and gestured to the city beyond. "Our paradise of science was short lived. It drew the curious yes, but also those who let their biases dictate the truth. And soon the ignorant followed, and we were persecuted in our own home. And our Eden became our perdition. We stayed in power, but it was a battle for existence. Factions rose like locusts from the desert, seeking to devour us and all that came seeking the light. Some sought to take control of the world we had made, to gain more power and authority. Others arose purely out of the desire to oppose us, to silence us forever. We defeated or outlasted almost all of them, though at times our numbers dwindled to few, oh so few. We sacrificed and endured. We brought balance and stability to the world, and we were damned for it. Voidus still seeks to bring order, to tend to his greatest creation. He should be revered as a benevolent god, a titan of endless patience and power. And yet he is cursed by those he spares, by those he saves. I drew back into the Alleys, seeking the work to bring me solace, not caring if the Denizens destroyed the invaders and interlopers. I had hoped Voidus would join me, that we could return to our Hunger and scour the Alleys for the meat of it's secrets. But he stayed." The Stranger looked towards where he knew the Worldspike to be. "And they nearly destroyed him for it. He paid the price, and you were no small part of it. But the greater sacrifice, was his Hunger. He has locked it away so that it wouldn't consume him as he managed the world. I can not say when last the greatest Denizen turned his mind to pursuing Science's Light. He has chained himself to the unrelenting wheel of duty, where once he flew free. And in doing so he has sacrificed that from which he once drew his light and inspiration, his joy and fear. Our deeds sink into meaninglessness, and I lose my only..." he stopped, his words catching in his throat. "friend." He was quiet for a long time, his leaden words forming unseen chains around his neck. In his mind he heard a boy coughing, a girls whispered words of fear, angry shouting, and the sound of a bloody spike falling to the floor. All mist, curling ethereally in the darkened corners of his mind. Then he spoke in a whisper, his words the smoke of a dying funeral pyre. "And so I devised an experiment, the likes of which the world has not seen since it's inception. I will reshape the world, the city, the guilds, and my only friend. I shall take the yoke of duty from his shoulders and give him a life unburdened, that he may live in peace and joy, free to follow his own Hunger. I shall return the DA to the shadows, for it seems in the open the Light of Science draws flies to tarnish it's brilliance. I will give the world an era of peace, such as it has never had in all it's days. And I shall Sacrifice myself to do it. But here's the catch, usurper of the Light, so must you." His gaze locked on Sudiov as a falcon's locks onto a swallow. His eyespike gleamed with the cold brilliance of an iceberg, with depth to match. His voice became lighter, though it was light reflected on an ocean, and the depth of his gaze belied the almost casual tone, "You will tell me all you know of Voidus's past, and then you will join me in the design I have crafted. You shall ascend, and be shade no longer. A god in stature, but removed from the world as I shall be. You shall be a guiding light to those that seek you, a counter to mine own. And what's more you shall help me hold the very fabric of reality together." The Stranger gestured broadly with a sweeping arm. "That is your choice, Sudiov. You can help me remake the world. Everyone found that Rona person rather suspicious. So they killed them. And that was that. Maledict didn't have very good luck, and ended up "accidentally" falling and dying. Oops. They might have been pushed, but no one bothered to investigate. Two more Shades joined the growing crowd. Mist was lynched. She was a Loyal Crewmember! Kynedath was killed. They were a Loyal Crewmember! LG65: Term 4 Month 1 - Drink With Me Lin Wa stood in front of the other Masters. He stared at the robe being held out to him. I’m not nearly put together enough to be a Master! I can’t even remember my notebooks. He took the robe anyway and put it on. He didn’t want to upset the Masters. Maybe it’d be interesting? The days were warming, now, winter snows melting to slush. Bright green grass was revealing itself from beneath the snow, and the air smelled of change. Also, it rained. A lot. A lot. The rain poured down almost every day, flooding the streets in a few less-than-well-drained locations. Students tramped about miserably, doing their best to protect their precious papers and books. Even the Fishery sprung a leak, which was caught quickly but nonetheless became the talk of the school for a few days. The chemicals inside were volatile enough that had the water not been caught... well. Bad things could have happened. Catalan especially hated the rain. It was horrid and muddy and got all over his clothes no matter how much care he took. He felt like it was slowly driving him mad. Maybe I am, he mused. Seems to be at least two students in a term, and we haven’t had the second one yet... What if it is me? What if this rain is going to slowly drive me insane until I go to the Crockery? I’ve been feeling weird lately, been all scattered... His heart rate started to pick up. Maybe something got into the rain - no, but then everyone would be affected, not just me. Maybe it’s my drinking water? Catalan tensed, looking at the glass of water sitting on his desk. Was it poison? Or maybe it was something in his food - he got it from the innkeeper, it’s not like he made his meals himself. What if... what if... Oh no, and if they realize I know they’ll come after me. Silence me. But I can’t stay, either, or I’ll go mad. I have to get out of here! He ran out of his rooms, not even looking where he was going. Rushing down the stairs, he- bang “Ow,” he said weakly. “Are you alright?” said someone. “No! I couldn’t find very many threads about forgery, and the possibilities of soulstamps, so I made one! I honestly think soulstamps are really cool, and I’m curious to see what people think up about how you can use them. ( I also may or may not be gathering ideas for my alleyverse character ). I’ll start with an idea that came to my mind: what if you could soulstamp a sword while fighting to make it extra hot or frigid, or to soulstamp poison onto it or something? You could even change its shape, and switch tactics in a flash. I don’t know If that sounds dumb, but I figured the possibilities could be cool .

Finished Mistborn era 1, Warbreaker, and Stormlight.. planning to move onto Mistborn era 2 and Elantris.. when can one move into deeper Cosmere resources like Secret History and Wikis? I am an impatient person.

I figured out why I'm struggling so much this game. Ninety percent of the discussion happens while I'm sleeping, and I might have an hour to catch up on pages of discussion if I'm lucky. The vote on Zillah doesn't make much sense to me, but I also don't have any hard suspicions at the moment (someone with abilities or money, please, I'm begging you, kill Bard). I'd rather not spread out the voting pool just because I feel like being contradictory.

Hello! I haven't critiqued for you before! I hope you find my thoughts useful. I haven't read anyone else's comments. Thoughts as I go: Pg 1, "The very last thing L ever expected to do": This was the most unexpected first sentence I think I've ever had the joy of reading. Pg 1, "her shrieking child...in one arm against her boiled-leather chest-piece," Alright, having a hard time imagining a contracting pregnant woman going to battle then having a baby, but I'll withhold my judgement to see what the story does with this. Maybe it's a cultural thing, like to have a baby on the battlefield makes the baby magically strong or something. Pg 1, "trouser thighs were still sticky with afterbirth" Don't quote me on this because I've never had a child, but isn't there a lot of blood? Pg 1, "the smelly thing" I legitimately don't know this, but do newborn babies smell? What do they smell like? Pg 1, "Wait and pray to God that She might," Would it not be Goddess then? Pg 3, "in obsidian-black bark, wielding six-foot-long steel-headed spears" I feel like there is an overuse of words here that aren't necessary. I mean, I think most people know the approximate length of a spear - maybe not exactly - but still. The weight of the swords being mentioned also threw me off. Pg 4, "There was a surprised look on his face as the head..." I had to reread this sentence multiple times because I couldn't figure out what was happening. I ended up needing the next sentence to solve this conundrum. Pg 5, "batted all three pikes away" Pike, or spear? Those are two different weapons. Pg 6, "she snorted a spray of blood." I like your action scenes. Very visual, and I can easily follow what is occurring. Pg 7, "its blade buried in her up to the cross-guard." Ooooh, that's not gooooood... Pg 7, "The Bargain was upheld." Let me get this straight: by taking the life of the moss, she would have to die by sunset, yes? So it created a destiny where fate would make sure that she would die by sunset? If she really wasn't connected to the babe, why didn't she just ditch the child and not give her life up for moss? I dunno, I feel like there's some logic problems here...I mean, the moss could have been taken out and the same ending would have happened... Pg 8, "You have your old man’s nose,” This tugs on my heartstrings.

Sure, it's not 100% that Bard is evil, but Xino has apparently scanned him twice and he was lying both times. He has yet to explain his second lie, or even really post anything since he was expelled. I feel like it's very likely Bard is an elim. Would be nice if we could get his alignment to make sure, but at this point I'm willing to make some assumptions based on him being evil. Again, there's some amount of proof about Bard. Do you think Xino is lying about his scans? I guess it's possible, and Bard has just given up trying to convince people he's innocent, but that doesn't seem likely to me. I'm not going to assume everyone we expel is an elim. That doesn't make a lot of sense. If any of the players up for the lynch right now get expelled, I will absolutely not assume any of them are evil. It's just a very unique circumstance in Bard's case that I think makes it fairly safe to assume he's evil. In response to Experience, the self-preservation is fine, it's simply that his choice of vote was Xino, who is imo, the most cleared player in the game currently. It's possible Cadcom was just genuinely suspicious, he certainly doesn't feel the same way about Xino I do, but it's my best lead right now. Anyways, some RP! Leo hadn't been sleeping well the past few weeks. He'd started leaving a small lamp on in his room after more and more of his fellow Students had been cracking. It seemed to help ease his mind from worrying over what could be in the shadows. It's like I'm a little kid again. he thought to himself as he groggily made his way to the University for his classes. He'd almost decided to just stay in bed for the day after hardly sleeping at all, but class was really the only time he could get his mind off of the situation he was in. He enjoyed the numbers in Arithmetics, as well as the logic side of things in the Rhetoric and Logic class. The Archives were a bit dull to him, as he'd never had much of a passion for reading. He found many of the arcane classes especially fascinating though, but was content to be more of an observer rather than an active participant. As he was trying to figure out a particularly interesting puzzle the Master Rhetorician had given him, he bumped into one of the other Students. "Oh, I'm sorry about that. I really need to keep my eyes open." he said as he made a small bow. "I haven't actually run into many people here, figuratively or literally. That's probably a mistake on my part. I think getting to know a few more of my colleagues is probably a good idea. Oh, but I haven't even introduced myself. The name's Leo, if you don't know. What's yours?" If anyone wants to get bumped into, feel free to respond. I think I'd be more motivated to RP if I'm not just doing introspective stuff lol.

I don't find Cadcom suspicious, less suspicious even than Karnage, so if there is a tie there, I'd break it in Cadcom's favor. (How's that for drawing lines? Maybe we're evil together???? If we assume I was only elevated in one field, it is impossible to fit the puzzle together as I overlap imperfectly with anyone who was elevated in term two month one. I was surprised to see how many others overlapped perfectly, though. Zillah, Araris and Coda all overlapped really well with either Burnt or DeTess. Four of those five are probably in the same two fields. Fura, CadCom and Devotary are probably not in the same fields as Zillah or Karnage. Aaaaand Catching up on the thread I see I have slipped back into the Free For All version of the game. I was all ready to go back and take the context clues so I could nail down what fields people were actually in. But that does not solve the game. Back to finding the eliminators. Oh and Orange means they are an E'lir so they fit pretty much anywhere. I will vote for Zillah Zillah for being the El'The with the least information. I will go back and do player analysis later to start having more informed accusations than "they will soon be unkillable" but for now that is the best reason I have to vote.

Huh. I think I was pretty tired when I looked through your posts, because I think I missed a few of them. I'll upgrade you to moderately active on account of last cycle I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Huh. Thanks for doing that. Looks like you've recorded two things wrong though: With your calculation, 7 EP at the start of 2.2, plus 4, gives 11 EP at the start of 3.1. And then the elevation to El'the for the start of 3.2 would have given the +5 immedately, to leave him with 15 EP at the start of that cycle, leaving us at 18 for the elevations at the end of 3.2, which was more than enough for elevation at 4.1.

As someone who's been burned by villager paranoia a lot, I try to give people more of a benefit of a doubt, especially in the early stages of the game. Though I'm not up to date on the meta (like recent eliminator tricks that people might be expecting, and vice versa), I'm personally skeptical that Rae was bus'd on D1. While I agree Rae may have poke voted me if we were teammates, I'm confident I would have tried get the lynch away from her, in some capacity. I still harbor guilt from the game where I bus'd her for village cred, only to get caught by Lopen like two cycles later and lose. There was another game where I bus'd Stink too in a not so great way that dredged up some bad feelings. Since then, I think if you looked at my elim meta, you would often find me running interference for my teammates. Even losing one elim is a fairly large problem. Not to mention that I just love my elim clean sweeps.

I like this theorizing! A couple of points. It seems the Bondsmiths were responsible for stopping Listener / Spren bonds. We know that Division splits molecules, not atoms. I'm inclined to think the true power of the Releasers is in their resonance, but it could just be the Division surge in combination with uses of Aggression we haven't seen. But I do like the line of thinking and some of it may be spot on. Edit - sorry Jonathon I didn't read that part properly, you acknowledged the Bondsmiths stopped the bonding. Maybe there's something to the idea the Releasers can undo that. It feels wrong? But you may have something there. I do find the idea of separating investiture from matter and energy, rather than just dividing matter, whether or not it's right.

@Doctor12 Your WoK trailer literally gave me the chills. When I read: I really felt that bass drop and those quick scenes following. Excellent pacing. I'd give that post all my ten upvotes if I could. Although I have to admit that your WoR trailer was a little too spoilery. Not only revealing that Everstorm comes, but you can't start the trailer with "Everstorm comes" and later say "Everstorm is here". Not only it spoils a majority of the book, but it also kills the curiosity and feeling of expectation which "Everstorm comes" created; the point of the trailer is to left the viewer hungry for more, curious. I'm sorry if those words come off as too harsh, as I really enjoyed both of your trailers. But I feel I needed to tell you that.

Szeth attacks three Shardbearers, two in Shardplate, one wearing a crown (the Veden king). Dalinar and Adolin are surrounded by Parshendi on the Tower, crying out. Kaladin, at the front of the bridge, screams as the four men around him are killed by arrows. ~~~ (fade to black) THEN, EITHER Tien’s face is shown smiling. “It’s not as bad as it seems, Kaladin. Oooh, I love that idea for the Stormfather! I imagine his face stretching across a highstorm, maybe with a tiny Dalinar standing before him. As for Wyndle, I could see a good portrait of him with his face formed, reading, "You've seen much death. Aren't you accustomed to it?" Either that, or, "This does not seem very well thought out."
