  1. Term 3 Month 2 - I Dreamed a Dream Evelyn Bryen stood proudly in front of the Masters. It was finally time - Rowan, the noble she’d been working with, had somehow found the pull to get her a private audience to present her ideas. Being a noble must be nice. “So you see, if you just raised your prices on the nobles who can easily afford the expense, you could maintain your current budget but still admit more students based on merit rather than merely who has money,” she finished, gesturing at the graph she held. She was met with stony silence, rather than the applause she’d imagined. Couldn’t they see how right she was? “Just to be clear,” the Master LInguist said slowly. “You are recommending that we admit fewer nobles, who are by far the most powerful and influential section of our students, and charge them ridiculously high prices in order to admit a few more commoners. Do you want the University to close?” “What? N-no,” Evelyn stammered. “This would make the University better, can’t you see? A haven of learning as it’s meant to be, not just a place where nobles send their layabout sons and daughters! Here, if you want to read our paper, it has the arithmetics laid out in detail...” “You think the University isn’t a haven of learning? Girl, what rock have you been living under - around you are the best minds for a hundred miles!” “Are you in your right mind?” the Master Physicker added, with a concerned look. “These ideas of yours seem clearly to be delusions, in my medical opinion. Perhaps you should take a stay in the Crockery for a while?” Evelyn stared, mouth agape. “But- of course I’m sane! You can’t send me to the Crockery - this is - you’re deliberately silencing me for your own benefit!” “Yes, I quite agree,” the Master Sympathist said to the Master Physicker, ignoring her. “Poor girl. I do hope she’ll come to her senses soon.” “You can’t do this!” Evelyn screamed as two guards came up behind her, taking her arms. “This is the deepest injustice - I will see that you’re exposed for who you are, I vow it!” The Masters watched her be dragged away, shaking their heads sadly. Evelyn screamed all the way to the Crockery, but no one listened. No one ever would again. Evelyn Bryen (DeTess) went insane! Nethwyl Nox (Bard) was brought on the Horns and found guilty of Conduct Unbecoming a Member of the Arcanum! She was expelled! Catalan (Coda) was brought on the Horns and found guilty of Undignified Mischief! Lyoan (Fura) was brought on the Horns and found guilty of Undignified Mischief! Maern (Xino) was brought on the Horns, but the charges were dropped! These students were elevated: Seoras (Haelbarde), Kendel (Elkanah), Maern (Xino), Catalan (Coda), Lasko Veitch (Karnage), Amila Tays (Zillah), Arael Solon (Araris), Lin Wa (Walin), Leo (Lopen). Term 3 Month 2 has begun! This turn will end May 11th, at 4:00 PM, PDT. Remember to get your lodging orders in!

This is definitely both allowed and encouraged. However, I ask that you please do everything possible to make this chat private and inaccessible to your representative, backup and your representative's opponents. It's important that your thoughts and comments don't influence the game. In other words, please don't post about the game in public threads -- this is very important. 4. You can read it that way, but I'm pretty sure they're largely left to their own devices and haven't acknowledged any Kevedian authority. They certainly aren't Vorin, don't have the whole Lighteyes caste system, and go to war amongst themselves enough for Rock to comment on why having Shards would unite the peaks. Not to mention how the quote I gave is obvious foreshadowing. Rock's got some responsibility to take on.

  5. I was listening to the Shardcast on the history of Sel (https://www.17thshard.com/news/shardcast/shardcast-history-and-cultures-of-sel-r539/) and they mentioned how the more modern group of people who would become known as the Elantrians first came upon the city already built and empty. Someone built Elantris and something happened to cause it to be devoid of people. There was speculation of a catastrophe or something wiping everybody out ... but what if they just left? We know of a worldhopping civilization that migrates in mass. They are on Roshar during the events of Stormlight Archive and call themselves the Iriali. Their nation on Roshar is called Iri. In Mistborn Secret History we meet a group of worldhopping Elantrians that call themselves the Ire. I don't think these two groups are the same, but I think this is a big hint that one of the previous planets the Iriali were on was Sel and they left in mass from Elantris which is why it was found fully built, but empty. They probably left via the shardpool in the mountains nearby. https://coppermind.net/wiki/Elantris_(city)#Discovery https://coppermind.net/wiki/Iri

  6. Its documented somewhere a lack of Spren in Shinova and most of us theorise the Shin have most of the lost shard blades and plates. If we're correct in assuming the Shin do indeed have these shards, im wondering if this corelates to the lack of Spren in Shin-land? E.g. In the cognitive realm Shinova is like the Spren Graveyard with hundreds if not thousands of dead eyes and the equivalent of shard plate dead eyes (if that's even a thing). So theres an unspoken anathema on Spren going to Shinova hence the lack of Spren..? Thoughts?

  9. I understand. This is my second game, and I still haven't even finished the first one Other than that... Hello have a good day. it feels good not to have to write exactly 200 words of RP. ;p Lord stalked around the team and swung his arms around one of the smaller trees. he spun off it and launched himself along the path the others of his party left. He wasn't afraid of shades. Those superstitious idiots were afraid, however. And, if shades were real, which they weren't, being amongst the others would not help him. The most dangerous thing in this forest was boredom. And spiders. And how could he fight boredom? like he always did. Bothering someone important. Someone powerful. It was fun when they realized he outwitted them and then used their authority to stop him. it was also fun to sulk once they did. He touched Cain's right shoulder and immediately spun to be on their left side. "Hey, do you know what the silver lining of all this is?"

  11. Yeah, he seemed surprised and angry when Dalinar did the clap. I think he's surprised because moments earlier he thought he'd won Dalinar over as his champion. Odium was aware of the possibility that Honor can be pieced back together. In OB Ch. 57 Odium tells Dalinar that he can't leave behind the remnants of Honor as he once thought he could "I can already see that going wrong". I think the "we killed you" was directed at Tanavast. The whole Unity thing was Tanavast's idea. He couldn't change what he was, he'd been the vessel of Honor for too long, but he could set it up for someone else to become Unity, an interpretation of Honor that is more useful against Odium who likes to divide people and sow conflict. Tanavast set up the Stormfather to absorb Tanavast's cognitive shadow and his cognitive shadow still has Connection to the remnants of Honor's power because Tanavast was the vessel. Tanavast set it up for a bondsmith to gain connection to Honor's remnants and gave this future person instructions: "unite them" Tanavast tells Dalinar to "unite them" in almost every vision. Odium has seen most if not all the visions. He was lurking in them before he revealed himself to Dalinar. In OB Ch. 109 after Odium breaks into and shreds the vision Dalinar and Venli were in he recreates the vision. Odium is familiar with this vision even though he didn't show up in it previously. He's seen it and likely most or all the others. He's heard Tanavast say "Unite Them" over and over again, so when Dalinar calls himself Unity and creates Honor's perpendicularity Odium sees Tanavast's idea coming to life. He knows Tanavast's cognitive shadow is around because it was absorbed by the Stormfather who is bonded to Dalinar, Tanavast is in there somewhere and Odium yells at him. Who is the "we"? I got nothin'.

  13. Boom, Boom, BOOM. Little by little, the Stranger shaped the future in fire and darkness. His hammer rose and fell with the weight of terrible purpose, the echoes ringing out in the darkness. As he worked he processed the information coming to him from Lita and Laurelai, taking in details and noting the significant pieces of insignificance. Each one was a minute piece of the whole, a single scale on the back of a leviathan. But it was these tiny pieces that built the grand picture, gave it life and depth. He needed these pieces if he was going to get it right. If he was going to give his friend the world he deserved. Boom, Boom, BOOM. There were three conversations he needed to have. And he wasn't looking forward to any of them. He needed all of his cunning and wit, and even then he wasn't sure it would be enough. In a way, this was the most dangerous part of the experiment. He went over numerous mental checklists to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything. He was on schedule, and if things went well he could even gain some time. But that sounded like optimism, and that was a luxury afforded the weak and the foolish. He focused and sent a mental signal to his Shade. He felt the brief sensation of acknowledgement a moment later, a sign that the plan was in motion. If his estimate was correct, this would be the least worrisome of the three conversations. That left the other two, which he really dreaded. He worked for a little longer, putting off the inevitable. But he could only dawdle for so long, he had a schedule to keep to if he wanted to maintain peak efficiency. So he lowered the hammer and chisel, glowing white hot with the energy he had been channeling through them. Rust it, nothing but to move forward. He left the lab and opened an Alleyway, the dark portal swirling hungrily. He stared into the void for a long moment. You really think he'll listen? He is the epitome of everything you mistrust. The Stranger narrowed his eye. The voice was his, and yet not his, like an echo that wasn't quite right. He hadn't made another Shade, he was sure of it. The amount of investiture would be impossible to miss. It was most likely a manifestation of the Alleys. But search as he may with his piercing sights, he could not locate a source other than himself. "Who are you?" He whispered, curious and just a little angry. I am you, my foolish friend. I am your twisted soul, your secret heart, your forgotten mind. I am your madness and your shame, your hope and your despair. "That's nonsense, my mind is a mechanism that hasn't failed in all these countless years. Neither time, nor isolation, nor the Void has shaken the foundations of it. I have faced horrors and wonders that would drive mortals insane, and I've made things greater still. I've stared the darkness in the face and the darkness blinked!" And now you've gone mad. Something pulled at him, as if a magnet in his pocket was attracted to a far away source of polarity. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he couldn't afford to find it. His bones ached and something whispered in his mind even as the voice laughed. The Stranger ground his teeth and walked into the swirling darkness of the portal, "I don't have time for madness, I have a world to remake." He emerged into a building on the outskirts of Alleycity. It was a partially destroyed three story building that had been abandoned since the Plasmacore incident. He had noticed it in one of Lita's reports and it seemed as good a meeting place as any. He swept his senses through the building to make sure it was empty, and after he was satisfied he soulcast two chairs and sat in one of them. Then he reached out, sending a an impression of his location so faint that it was nigh impossible to miss. But if his next conversant was as good as the Stranger thought he was, he would notice. "Alright Sudiov, let's see if you have what it takes to be worthy of the image you bear." @Voidus ... The Stranger's Shade was in an Alley that resembled a subterranean cavern, dark pools seething and bubbling amidst the rock. He sat at a table and stared into one of the pools, hoping the tidbit he'd sent had been enough. Aylitha was unparalleled when it came to interspecial integration, a legendary scientist in her own right. He hoped that she would see the opportunity as a challenge, an endeavor worthy of her skills. He had sent a note along with a sample of the pyrolobus achaea that was found in these pools, an extremophile that thrived in conditions that were unlivable for almost any other organism. He hoped her curiosity would get the best of her, but then one didn't get far in the DA if they weren't driven by curiousity, by a hunger to learn, to Know. They also didn't get far without an obscene amount of paranoia. He would have to wait and see which won out. So he sat in the darkness and the silence and waited. And as he waited he wondered when it all would end. @kenod

  14. "It's only a bit farther." Cain said. He hoped it sounded reassuring. He had made this trip a dozen times, but always they had had someone with more experience. Now he was tied for the most trips with two others in the party and they were switching off leading. "The maps of this area are so poorly drawn." Cain thought. "How am I supposed to find the safe areas with these useless rags. Using a tree as a landmark! We're surrounded by trees!" His leg ached slightly where the pouch kept bouncing against it. Such precious cargo, and so little of it. Then out loud he said "Not to worry, We are looking for clump of three trees bent as if three lightning bolts were striking the same spot. Then it is only another half kilometer west." Hello to all the new people! Welcome to SE. Also Welcome back those of you who have been gone for a while. I hope you don't mind me taking the lead of the party for a bit. There really isn't much to discuss in the form of roles so I'll go through what I see quickly. I recommend using the med kit every turn until it is gone. I'm guessing maybe five of these. I recommend not using the knife until we are down to less than ten players. I doubt there are more than three. I bet at least one traitor has silver dust. There are maybe three of these. If they do, that player will be the one to submit every kill. Not much we can do about that because they can't be roleblocked. The rest of us get to try to guess who is bad, so voting is very important. Please don't die to inactivity. Also I will break any tied lynches. Unless It would kill me to do so. Happy hunting!

  15. Nethwyl climbed the podium for the second time in 3 terms to give her public apology. She'd been insanely lucky - a few of the masters seemed to want her expelled anyway, evidence be damned, but at the end of the day she'd had enough plausible deniability to just about get away with it. As a compromise, they'd forced her to give a public apology for missing class, and for 'careless behaviour endangering the safety of other students'. Nethwyl was fairly sure that that last one was made up, but was frankly too exhausted by this point to argue. She looked at the note in front of her. "To all the students at the University, I apologise for my Undignified Mischief over the past few days. I missed class, which is inappropriate behaviour for a student of the Arcanum. This is doubly true given my recent elevation to the rank of El'the, meaning it is my responsibility to be a model pupil for our more junior students. I will endeavour to be more consistent with showing up to class, and with my studies more generally, in future." "I also apologise for being careless in where I was walking. This caused me to slip and fall into the river, forcing my good friend Maern" with that, she shone a forced smile at Maern out in the crowd "to have to try to rescue me, at some risk to himself. I will be more careful not to endanger myself or my fellow students like that again." With that, Nethwyl folded the note and stepped down from the podium. She hoped that would be the last time she was up there, but frankly, she doubted it - most of the Masters seemed to have it out for her now - she'd have to make sure not to get caught with a toe out of line from here on out.

  18. It's established in Way of Kings. The first Horneater to earn shards will become king. It was the quest that got Rock enslaved and his brothers killed. It's in Chapter 23 “The nuatoma, they see our lack of Shards as great shame. They want these weapons very badly. It is believed that the nuatoma who first obtains a Shardblade would become king, a thing we have not had for many years. No peak would fight another peak where a man held one of the blessed Blades.”

  19. So, I was thinking about why the eyes of those who are killed by shardblades burn out. Eyes are often described as the doors or the windows to the soul and if I remember correctly, shardblades sever the connection from the physical to the cognitive realm (where the "soul" is located). When killed by a shardblade, it severs your connection to your soul and thus the eyes burn out because that window to your soul doesn't lead to your soul anymore. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I found it interesting to think about.

  24. The five or six outdoor cats in the neighbor do use the beach as a litter box. The dogs are always cleaning up after the cat, and then think I'm going to let them lick my face. They all blur together...we basically rebuilt the house from the inside out. My spouse did a lot more than me. However, I can say with 100% certainty that my absolute least favorite was the insulation. I will be happy if I never insulate another wall in my life. I did like demolition, specifically ripping the bathroom apart before we actually moved in. There is something very cathartic about sledge hammers and crow bars. I also liked finding things in the walls, like letters, bottles, and a chipmunk skeleton. To be honest, sometimes I wish we actually hired contractors to do more than just the plumbing and foundation repair... Too much work, in my opinion though DIY was a lot cheaper than hiring contractors would've been. The dog fishes. I don't. I kayak, swim, float, and boat when the engine decides to start. Some years the boat is more cooperative than others. Last year it ran well until it broke down in the annual boat parade. Most winters I get to ice skate at least once, but this year I didn't. 100% to the last thing.

  25. Hey, so I might be completely missing something. But I don’t see what the purpose of having a code at all is? Why not literally just have your name? I agree wholeheartedly with that, and overall I would say it’s NAI. God King and myself played our first game in SE together (QF42). And that was quite a while ago. So I feel your frustration.

  26. I’ve read too many games with joe dying way too early. The vote is circumstantial at best but the reasoning is a poke and that joe was bad in a previous game. Not my favorite reasons to cast a vote edit: also I’m not that new. I hate having everyone excuse my reasoning because of that. I’ve been playing for three months now and know the basics of the game. This vote was well thought out and I understood the reasoning. Sorry to be a bit defensive but having my opinion discounted is not my favorite thing to read

  27. A couple chapters later, when Rock receives his razor, he also says "My friends, you cannot know what you have done! Someday, I will take you to the Peaks and show you the hospitality of kings!" While this is and the prior quote are clearly building his back story, they seem too specifically focused on a king of the Peaks to not be hints of foreshadowing. Rock now has the shards that he admitted would make any Horneater a king and unite the Peaks. There seems to be trouble at Cultivation's perpendicularity, and I strongly expect to see some action between these two things in books 4 and 5.

  29. Soon after the stranger sat down a small crab crawled into the cavern, hiding itself from view. Curious, Aylitha watched through its eyes, wondering who had sent her that note, and why. Finding the place had been easy of course. Extremophiles were easy to recognize, the high GC content in their DNA and the presence of heat shock proteins giving them away easily, and the lack of chlorophyll or similar substances made it obvious that this sample must have grown in a low-light environment, instead relying on thermal and chemical energy from its surroundings, which meant it would have lived in an underwater environment around hydrothermal vents, using the heat and acidic chemicals to thrive. Of course, environments like those were rare, especially in the vicinity of the Alleycity, since these would normally be found at the ocean floor, close to the edges of tectonic plates, or possibly underground in caverns, if the crust at the location was thin enough. On the other hand, neither of these applied to the Alleycity, made obvious by the general lack of earthquakes, except for when R&D wanted to try out something new, of course. Add to that that the note was delivered to her inside the alleys, and it was most likely that the sample had originated from there as well, and at that point trying out all the different alleys that had black smokers was just a case of manpower, something she was never short on. Still, it seemed this was the right place, judging by the man sitting at the table in the centre of the cavern. She mentally blinked when she caught a glimpse of a singular eye spike though, wondering what the Stranger of all people was doing here. She was a fellow department head, even if she wasn't as well-known as him, he could have just sent a normal message, instead of going through all this trouble. Even if he was trying to keep the meeting a secret the only person that might pick up on something like that would be Voidus, or maybe HR. She guessed Mac might as well, but if the rumours were right he had disappeared for now, so that couldn't be the case. Curious she split off a mental thread from her main intellect, and in the blink of an eye the crab's form changed to that of a young girl wearing a simple dress. "Well, I hadn't quite expected to meet a stranger in a place like this," she quipped as she walked up behind him, suspected he had known she was there the instant she had entered this alley. She sat down in front of him, tendrils forming a chair beneath her. "First of all, my thanks for that sample," she said with a cheerful smile. "I quite like extremophiles like hyperthermophiles, their environment always creates fascinating adaptions, and above that, types like these that grow in acidic high-temperature environments show an extremely interesting insight into what potentially was the earliest form of biological life. And given that I wasn't aware of this species before... Well, you have my thanks for bringing it to my attention." Still smiling she straightened herself, looking more like she was sitting in a classroom than a cavern filled with acidic pools. "So, could you tell me why you called me all the way out to this place?" She asked. "Given where we are, I have to assume you want to keep this a secret, but for someone of your power there are easier ways to do so. The only people I know of who can spy on or even gain knowledge of a meeting between two department heads would be you, Voidus or maybe HR. So given that, I assume this needs to be kept secret from one of those two. So, what do you want to discus that either of those two aren't allowed to know about? A coup?" She asked it in a genuinely curious tone, not showing any care about the implications of something of such a magnitude, just curiosity about what the Stranger might be planning.

  31. I think that the extent of the reduction would affect the time taken for a shard to splinter, and perhaps the guidance from the vessel would need to be removed entirely. An idea that I had as I was re-reading the origional theory: What if we used as a model the concept of a Shard being a collection of splinters, each representing a thing that the shard wants done, with a small allocation of power to influence things in that direction, rather than a singular whole? The focus then would not be so much on the splintering itself (under this idea, the Shard comes pre-splintered), but on causing the vessel to lose control of all the splinters that make up the larger entity of a Shard. I think that could be a much easier task. Splintering as we know it would then occur when the pre-existing splinters lose their sense of Shardic identity, and the connection between them is no longer strong enough that any vessel could bind with one of these splinters and assert controll of the others. Reforgeing the Shard would also be an option by trying to collect all of the splinters in a singular vessel, and hold them long enough to restore their connections and sense of Shardic identity.

  34. We don't know that they get both their blades and their plate from their spren. the current prevailing theories are that Plate is either made of stormlight somehow, or that it is made up out of smaller spren, which are different for each order. (For example: Windspren for Windrunners).

  35. He was already dodging the responsibility of going home and leading his peak after his brothers were killed. From there he's got shards and Dalinar needs someone to bring the Horneaters into the alliance. Seems like it works out really well for everyone but Rock.

  36. Should be fixed now, the moving of the thread broke the link Putting a vote in for serious reasons is never dumb, even if you're wrong. Everyone playing this game is wrong about people about 60-95% of the time, so that's nothing to worry about. And if anything, you standing firm with the vote when I put it under scrutiny makes me trust you a bit more, as an elim would probably be starting to look for a reason to reconsider and go after an easier target.

  38. Guess it's time to look back at Bard's posts with a very fine comb eh? Though I'm kinda late to that since I finally got a good nights sleep (but then it lasted 12 hours so was it really that good? Idk how sleep works) but before I do that just a quick thing I noticed while reading the thread that I wanted to comment on but forgot to hit quote on. 'Twas something along the lines of 'I'm glad people are analysing older cycles for why's and the how's etc etc' sorry if I didn't get it right exactly but you get the gist and hopefully you all know the post I'm on about because you are all reading this thread as well right? Anyways, I would actually kinda disagree with this. If anything, now that I think about it I'd kinda be disinclined to trust people doing this. Since really Term 1 didn't really have anything happen in it right? It's similar to an extended D1-Lynch in that most people are just trying to unlock some actions to start doing stuff and the RP was there for tuition reduction. I wouldn't get anything of worth from it and sure I could probably look at it and start doing word volleys at people that sounds rational with this and that but realistically it'd be making a mountain out of a tiny little bump in the game's history. Gotta look at the more recent stuff imo. Anyways that's actual game talk from Stink whoa something must be going on. To Bard! Luckily there's only 3 posts to look through with the hyper-focus of the Xino said he's lying (interesting to me that I saw no-one bringing up that maybe Xino is the one lying in this 'he-said-she-said' but who am I to say) and I'll try to ignore the fluff that the GM's hopefully ignored like where he says he forgot it was May and maybe he didn't and it's a big conspiracy etc etc Bard First Post: Yeah looks like this is the thing that set everyone off and can't say I disagree tbh, only other option really is if he was secretly in PMs panicking about the insanity being not Skindancers but thats like a 0.001% chance and no-ones confirmed that happening so gotta go with the other option. That's probability, y'all Bard Second Post: Claims in RP to be doing Rhetoric and Logic. With the whole RP being lies counting thing, could be that which set it off unless anyone can confirm that he is in fact doing Rhetoric and Logic. If not, that's a second option and all that I could really see from this. Bard Third Post: Again, an option is always that his reads in thread are different from his PM ones in which case thats a lie, but would need someone to confirm that. Purely thread-wise, could be the part where he's not suspicious of anyone yet where if I was a GM reading that in the 4th month, I'd be really tempted to say that as a lie if they weren't inactive cause surely everyone has suspicions by now right? But that could also be a PM thing which makes it hard to know, Bard could have PM'd someone saying they really don't like X and then in thread don't bring up X and bam now he's lying in thread. So TL;DR (even though it's not that long): 1. First Post lying means basically skindancer. 2. Second Post lying means not doing R&L despite claiming to. 3.Third Post lying means his public reads are different from private reads. In terms of what I think happened here? I'm tempted to say it's just the second post that got him in, cause unless anyone's publicly claimed where they are going yet then everyone is gonna be lying about that when it's hinted at in thread. Unless I've missed something and Xino gets specifically pointed at the post/PM(?) where the target was lying. Wow this post has gotten long I just wanted to flex my brain but yeah enjoy that word volley peeps I'm gonna drink some tea which is a stereotype but it's true. And I wanted to RP smh

  39. Thats fair, its definitely something I was being careful about how I was wording it. You couldn't tell if i was trying to say if it was likely or not, because that's not what i was trying to say Because we don't know for sure if its a WGG or not, so I was making sure to not be convincing people either way, more so just trying to highlight the possibility and make sure people were aware of it, letting them come to their own conclusions. Well you'd have to include bard in that if it was an Australian thing Its unfortunately a very me thing though for sure. I can guarantee if i didn't have tuition reductions motivating me to post theres a high chance i'd have only posted maybe once a cycle with equally as little info And on that note thats sorta all i've been worrying about up till nowish- finances, getting those reductions. I dunno, starting thread discussion has never been my thing. I don't enjoy the resulting attention Partly why the wgg post was so cautious. I felt that it needed to be said but yeaah. I didn't want to come out swinging proclaiming that bard must be evil from the possibility of a potential WGG and start a bandwagon when he very well may be perfectly innocent. Its a tricky situation in general. Because no one should be punished for successfully surviving an elim attack. In general though, i'm really not the kind of player to lead lynches or to be aggressive or anything Though if i'm honest. I'm not expecting this to be the only instance of the sabotage being blocked. With bloodless, grams, and particular lodgings to help against it, I fully expect to see others survive an attack this game. The circumstances with this being allegedly an organised thing is more why I was concerned about this possibility. Kinda curious as to why not just let people think it was an item that protected rather than telling everyone you survived due to physicking, which if true, just makes you a target for things like bribe the messenger or wind pm spying. Theres a lot of information that has the potential of being drawn out as a result of claiming how you survived. Although being honest and forthright about that from the get go is a point in their favour i think. Though now that there's the lie scan result it makes everything a lot more suspect. Lopens idea of suggesting Bard as a kill target Is not necessarily a bad one. Theres definitely things to be learnt from that result. With there being nobles who have had time to stockpile coin, and three namer elevations, kills are going to be possibilities at this point. I use entirely too much

  40. @Araris Valerian, to confirm, you're voting on me because you think I might have been attempting to pocket you by reading you as village for a reason you disagree with? @Lord_Silberfarben, what advantage would elim!me get by not talking about elim!fura? Anyway, let's get back to getting that reads list done. Only the commoners are left, but I won't be able to get to all of them. Burnt Spaghetti So, question for Hael and Burnt, is saying nothing alignment indicative using a lot of posts an australian thing? There are a few more things that stood out to me in Burnt's early posts than in hael's though, in particular her lamenting the lack of information, while at the same time not really doing much to start generating that information, as far as I could see. Her post pointing out that the attack on bard could have been a WGG also stands out to me in how cautious she is in raising the possibility. That post feels to me more like an elim trying to play both sides while knowing that it was a WGG (not putting more suspicion on Bard, but maneuvering herself in a position where she could earn more trust by being able to say 'I told you so' if elim!bard flips). So overall, I'm somewhat suspicious of Burnt right now. Straw First a small comment: It is true that no one really wants to get lynched, but for the elims 'not getting lynched' takes precedence over everything else. I expect villagers to be more willing to take risks and say what they thinking, while an elim will be far more cautious. Coda's approach to not getting lynched really doesn't suggest he's a villager to me. Now, on to posts as a whole. I think Straw might have the most posts I've had to go through so far. A lot of it is just general strategy and graphs, which is all NAI. I don't think him helping in organizing the spread of the votes in the early cycles is very alignment indicative, but I do find it noteworthy that when we had started voting seriously he still worked on spreading out the votes. If he was just after tuition he could have bandwagoned on any of the established wagons with that explanation, so this was the result of a conscious decision to try to reduce the consequences for those already up for the vote. As with Elandera, if Straw ends up flipping Elim, it'll pay to take another look at that vote to try and figure out who he might have wanted to protect. Overall, I'm uncertain about straw, but I don't feel like lynching them this cycle. He's started to get involved more, so I reckon his alignment will become clearer in future cycles. Xinoehp Xinoehp has been a lot more active than I've seen him before, which is quite nice to see. There's also some alignment discussion in his most recent posts, which is also nice to see. However, there is one bit of one post by him that I really don't like the look of: That was back before we started voting seriously, but I really dislike the implication in this post that everyone should just continue spreading out the votes. If it had just been his personal decision that'd be fine, but encouraging everyone else to follow suit doesn't sit well with me at all. That having been said, he followed this immediately with offering himself up in the 'I'm not a fae' gambit, though an elim could very well have doen that if they knew that the person elevated in linguistics was on their side. So, my overall verdict is to keep a close eye on them for now. Lord Silberfarben Lord Silberfarben has mostly RP'd so far. I think his only potentially alignment indicative post was going after me and Furami this cycle, and though I think the reasoning is a bit far fetched, It doesn't come from an obvious elim position. If anything, I'm getting the impression that Lord_silberfarben does not have access to an elim doc or similar supporting palce where he can ask for clarifications and questions, which makes me lean a bit village on him. Experience Experience has posted almsot solely RP, with the exception of a vote on Walin for low activity. @Experience, who do you trust most and least right now? Anyway, I'm tempted to add a vote to Burnt right now, but that'd kinda defeat the purpose of trying to consolidate votes. I might very well do that next cycle though.

  42. Well anything is possible. there are spren on Scadrial the real question is, would your average person be able to figure it out? Relevant WoB: OrangeJedi (paraphrased) Are there a significant number of Shardblades that have made it off Roshar? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Define significant. OrangeJedi (paraphrased) More than 1 / A number of them are that could come up later. Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) There is a connection between spren and Roshar that normally prevents spren, even dead ones, from leaving the planet. Note I said normally; do not imagine a large trade of Shardblades going off world. Miscellaneous 2018 (Oct. 25, 2018)

  46. Ok, Kelsier and Vin and Wax have enough of the eight basic metals to last through the battle. Neither has Atium, and Surgebinders have enough Stormlight to last through the battle. Now, I would like to address the question of Wax V Kelsier, because me and my friend think Wax would win. Wax has the ability, assuming he has enough weight stored up, to use steel in a way that is far more powerful than Kelsier's Steelpush/Ironpull. So, in theory, Wax could push Kelsier through a building or something. Secondly, Wax is simply better at steel than Kelsier ever was. He has enough control to create a steel bubble without affecting his weapons or bullets. Thirdly, Wax can literally fly, if he didn't want him to, Kelsier couldn't touch him, and finally, Wax is just a better fighter than Kelsier. I mean, Kelsier had trouble with six hazekillers. Wax has taken down twenty men on his own.
