  1. What scenes are you waiting for, in any individual series or in any conflux book, including late Stormlight Archive (if I'm right about it being conflux or partially conflux) and Mistborn era 4? These can be scenes you are sure will happen, as well as scenes you hope will happen. Awakening a Mistcloak / Mistborn fighting while wearing an Awakened Mistcloak Mistborn vs Radiant Two shards communicating, things from their perspective but both long accustomed to being shards - bonus points if there are scenes from both shards' points of view Cyborg hemalurgy Forger and Lightweaver interacting Perpendicularity warp core Kandra and Sleepless interacting Someone and their spren - or ten people and their spren :-P - taking up a shard, and what happens to the spren Elsecaller Scotty ("Ten to beam up, Mr. Scott.") Wired - and wireless - communication's impact on the cognitive realm / "wireless" communication made using wires in the cognitive realm Zinc / Brass Misting or Mistborn using pulses to remotely control a machine attuned to soothing and rioting Space ships, each powered by their own magic system or combinations - so Surgebinding fabrial ships vs Allomantic ships vs Aether vs Awakening vs Dor What are you looking for? :-)

  2. From the album: Shallan/Veil Cosplay

Here's a picture of the front of my cosplay. I am so storming excited about this cosplay! I had help from an incredibly kind and talented friend in making the dress/jacket part of the outfit (there's no way I could sew something like that by myself ). It took a while but I finally got it done! (Sorry it's sideways )

  4. Hi, I'm posting this topic to let you all know I exist as instructed. I've been a fan of Brandon's for a while but I think I only truly became obsessed after reading Oathbringer. I've been looking at stuff on the forum and listening to shardcast for a while, and then I just thought that I really should just make an account. So, here I am!

  7. As the gods emerge, they see a vile creature made of vines and flowers, with pieces of skeletons stuck within. With two tendrils, it is holding up a bloodied corpse, and seems to be eating part of it. At the sight of the gods, it rushes off into the back of the layer, through a thick, impossibly dense wall of roses. Within ten seconds, a man wearing what seems to be a flower costume strolls out of a curtain of dandelions, smiling widely. "Hello! I'm Sunshine, god of flowers!"

Here's a closeup of the makeup for my Shallan/Veil cosplay. (This is also technically a face reveal so yay!)

  12. Hi, I'm new here (clearly). I just finished Warbreaker this week, which completes the entire Cosmere for me, for now, although I definitely have to re-read several of the books now. I've been doing a lot of wiki deep dives over the past couple weeks, and I'm excited to join all of the theory crafting & discussions that go on here.

  14. The Investiture arts are accessed via the Spiritweb and Hoid still has his original Yolish magics, so it's unlikely that his Spiritweb was reset to default at the Shattering. The Shattering did have an effect on the magics of the time, but we don't know much of it

  15. I think the main reason Obi-Wan doesn’t either directly confront Anakin about it or take it to the Jedi Council is because of Satine. They clearly had feelings for each other, and exposing Anakin and Padme would be hypocritical.

  16. To make up for the derailment I’m about to continue, I have to say I don’t understand why this WoB is under debate - it makes perfect sense to me that the Vessels aren’t infinite. They’re just the people holding the Shards, and we’ve seen their perspective; for the most part, besides how the Intent, experience, etc. alters them, there isn’t an inherent, immediate change in who they are. Their minds still aren’t infinite, only human/Sho Del/whatever. Preservation is the crust, because most people eat that last and it’s preserved the longest. (Sorry, I know that’s not a topping.)

  18. I cant wait to see the Scadrial tech progression across the era's, and WOB has mentioned that eventually Fabrial will become a generic term for magic/Investiture device, rather than being specific to Rosharan gem tech.

  20. PANCAKES! They're the easiest to make, have so many varieties, and are the only one of the three that can go savory without people looking at it weirdly (with their country cousin the crepe that is). French Toast is a very close second. I've had better French toast than I have pancakes, and they're the recipe I'm more eager to master. ...well, actually it's pancake French toast (in which one makes pancake batter and uses that as the batter for French toast)...and there are a few more things I'm working out, but it's still French toast! Waffles...I LOVE waffles, I just don't love them as much as I do the other two 100% of the time... I also can't make one to save my life and I have to be in the mood for them to begin with. After a few episodes of Parks and Rec though, this is the only food I want. As an aside, one of my ultimate cooking dreams is to develop a new, fourth type of sweet, syrupy pastry-like breakfast item. The closest I've found was the Japanese sweet Taiyaki, but they're a little small for my liking most of the time and are usually filled with chocolate, red bean paste, or custard (my favorite is the custard). I consider that more of a mix between a pancake and stuffed French toast (using a special waffle iron) than its own thing. Still great though, and I'd love to try them out filled with syrup...

  21. Where do I go after Mistborn? I read skyward for the time being, but should I jump into The Archive? Especially with #4 coming out. What does everyone think? Mistborn was my first and only Cosmere and I LOVED it

  22. Thanks for bringing this video to the forefront again - it is sooooooo excellent! I've been using it (with some successes!) to convince my non-reading/video-only friends to give Brandon's books a try, & the GraphicAudio version seems to appeal best to them. If you view it on YouTube and read through the comments, it's amusing how easily you can tell whether the person is a Sander-fan or not, LOL! The animator has another video where he tells how he & his team created it. You can really tell that he wanted to make it longer, but he was a student & had to meet a deadline for his class assignment. I can't imagine the amount of time & effort that went into it, and at the end he just got a grade, not any money! I hope he has gone on to a successful career.

  25. Let’s see... 1. I don’t want Shallan and Adolin’s relationship to be smooth sailing. I’m really hoping for some conflict there. 2. I really, really want Adolin’s/Renarin’s reaction to Dalinar’s book to be dived into. I don’t want it to happen like the repercussions of Adolin murdering Sadeas, which was quickly brushed aside. I’m not criticizing that arc, but I don’t want it to happen again in this particular case. 3. I don’t want to not see more Ghostbloods. Please Shallan, interact with them more, and tell Jasnah about them! I’m really hoping to see her relationship with Jasnah grow more than it did in OB.

  29. I'd like to see what happened to Azure/Vivenna, especially if she manages to catch up with Szeth and Nightblood or with Zahel/Vasher. Also, Rysn needs to become a KR and heal her legs. Shallan's brothers, broken as they all are, are also good candidates for bonding spren. And another interlude with the Worldhoppers looking for Hoid would be good.

  36. Algorath exposed his fangs at the bear's harsh words, but then something strange happened. A man stepped in between their little group and the guards, and seemed to exude calm. His soothing voice reminded Algorath of flowing streams, sunlight filtering down through the trees, working on barrels in the carpenter shop, and many more things. Everything that brought him peace in both lives. He found that even the blatant use of magic of the girl didn't bother him much, and the other one––who he was sure was some form of deity––he didn't hate anymore. Nature magic was repulsive, but human deities were destructive, offensive, and needed to die. Still, he found that in his state of peace he didn't feel as though he wanted to kill this one. When the calmer asked if they wanted drinks, he found himself agreeing, despite his discomfort at being so close to people. When they arrived at the tavern, he shifted to human form to be able to sit in a chair more naturally. He found that human form came easier, and looked more natural than it usually did. He sighed. His sentience wouldn't be happy until he and the bear solved their issues. He walked over to the hulking beast, who was now enjoying a bowl of honey mead. "Look," he said, "If one of my kind took someone or something from you, I'm truly sorry. But holding a grudge doesn't help. I know. A demigod took everything that I had known, and mashed it up with everything else I had known. A poor human cobbler, who liked woodworking, with a fierce wolf, who liked nature. I still hold a large grudge against human deities, but I've only just started to realize. It's not worth it. You judge the individual not by what his kind did, but by the content of his character." @Chasmfiend#1
